Getting one tomorrow ! I'm a retired school teacher, 77, and keyboarder, having played live for 55 years. I know how, so often "experts" bursting with knowledge can't find simple enough ways to explain their craft or share information at a basic and understandable level.
This video was made very thoughtfully and clearly demonstrated, Well done, guys ! Nice One !

By far the best instructional video for the BOSS RC-5 that I have seen. Well done.

I've been playing for over 50 years (maybe ten professionally in the late 70's... it's a bit of a blur), however never used a looper. I just got this one as a gift, and I went to TH-cam to look for a tutorial... painful process.
I have an old friend that use to work for Roland Canada and he has a video on here for the RC-3, however the RC-5 is a entirely different, so I was lost. This video went through it all in plain English, with a user demo for all the options.... PERFECT !!!
Thanks, now if I can just find some patience for all those options. It's a very powerful tool. It'll be a case of 'old dog, new tricks' for a while I'm sure. Thanks again.

Thank you. I got this looper a few months ago and ended up putting it away after a few frustrating days of trying to figure it out. I got it back out today and this video has cleared up my confusion (well, enough of it anyway). I am not sure why Boss doesn't include a more usable manual with this looper, but at least there's this video to help me out. Again, thanks!

Thanks guys. I bought an RC5 as a post xmas present to myself. I find it easy to navigate - and because I am not yet getting too precious about my loops it really doesn't matter if I screw something up.... it's all learning curve. What a great tool! I just ran an acoustic guitar through it (with an ancient Ibanez acoustic pickup, into a Fender acoustic amp) - it worked a treat.Normally my electric is running into a Fender Mustang LT50. This also works great. I would say the RC5 is the most fun you can have with your clothes on.

What's with the ridiculously loud volume of the rhythm patterns (drums)!! Lots of people complaining. And NO global parameter to reduce all the memories drum levels?? Crazy. Have to individually change each rhythm level or risk tearing a speaker. Any news about the possibility of a firmware update? Thx in advance. 🙂👍

I have every hole plugged on this other than the midi
Have a Ampeg bass amp and 50w guitar amp running through the rc5 with couple creambacks
,a beat buddy if you get it set up right for jamming it can be a beast and dust the rafters don’t worry about the drums in my guitar amp it’s all good
A bass compressor is important to keep this clean with real band bass sound
    I make fairly long loops
Then play lead on a 20w 1 12” combo with a a extension speaker on other side of bass amp it’s pure heaven this is the clearest Looper that isn’t hundreds more that is crystal clear 👍

  • @markm493

Thanks guys. I understand that the RC-5 wants to see a 32-bit, 44kHz backing track from an external source. I want to make backing tracks to use with live shows on GarageBand with my macOS Big Sur version 11.6. I know the computer only uses a 24-bit format. If I use an audio interface with a 32-bit encoder into GarageBand, will I be able to successfully pull those tracks into my RC-5?

I come from the infinity looper and I change few days ago to the boss rc 5 because I reduce the side of my pedalboard. I use ableton as a midi master clock for the looper and I use to Record at the start of the next measure after the switch has been pressed. That's work perfect in the infinity but I don't see this option in the Boss. How can I do this or similar with the RC 5?

GREAT LOOPER. Weakest point is the instructions. I have combed through the documentation and tons of tutorials, can't find a rational way to apply the fills. Do I need a footswitch, or am I supposed to bend down and turn the dials mid-recording? If footswitch, then can someone point me to a tutorial on switching between rhythm and fill variations while recording a loop?

  • @kirschenmannvideos7104
    @kirschenmannvideos7104 2 ปีที่แล้ว

I use the RC-5 to loop the verse and chorus of a song played on my acoustic guitar onto a numbered loop, then "write" it permanently onto the RC-5. In my solo show, each song on the set list has a little loop number by it as the rhythm track for me to play electric along with it live and sing. One glitch: This has worked well for months but suddenly the drum beats I carefully set up and saved along with the acoustic guitar track disappeared from a couple of the saved loop numbers. Can't seem to get them back, so live I had no drums for those songs. Also, it took my looped/recorded acoustic volume back to 100, too low -- all my other songs are at 150. Now I'm nervous that I can't depend on the pedal doing my solo show stuff. (I tried to add drums to the previously recorded tracks, but failed so far...)

Dial down the volume of the loop track and the rhythm tracks. I am running the drums at about 30-50, as I find them way too loud at 100 as well. Once the levels are set, save the preset memory. You need to set levels for each preset.

Damn i had a really awesome loop with tons of instruments and before i watched this i thought i saved it in the memory :( didnt know you push the knob down, the menu just takes you back so quickly with no indicator whether it saved or not, is a little confusing. And had my loop playing for a few hours amp was still running just cut the volume, and the loop was messed up and distorted when i came back to try and save it! Very disappointing :((

Does anyone know why the default rhythm volume level is so loud? I will be playing my loops at an acceptable volume level and hit the rhythm button and it’s shockingly loud! I usually have to manually turn the rhythm volume level down to 30 or 40 every time I start a loop, which seems like an unnecessary step. Thanks!

      Memerory slots are the same
I use a external foot switch to change slots so I might make three songs to play and do my levels I want at 100 on level so I know they will be at that level not sure of way to externally adjust the level
It’s not a option on cntrl 1or 2 for external adjustment
