About David Bowie:
David Bowie redefined musical genres and the potential of live performance for generations of music lovers. Creating and discarding a variety of personae and restlessly challenging musical boundaries, Bowie released timeless albums including Space Oddity, Hunky Dory, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust…, Aladdin Sane, Diamond Dogs, Young Americans, Station to Station, "Heroes,” Let's Dance, Heathen, The Next Day and many more. Blackstar, Bowie’s 28th and final studio album, was released on his 69th birthday, January 8, 2016. David Bowie died on January 10, 2016, two days after the release of Blackstar. His body of work, his influence on the worlds of music, art, fashion, film, theatre and beyond, and his legacy of innovation and reinvention will live forever. 2022 kicks off with Bowie at 75, a celebration of his 75th birthday with the Brilliant Adventure box set, the previously unreleased Toy, the 50th anniversary of Ziggy Stardust and a series of special events.

Does everyone realize this may be one of the best guitar solo endings ever in the history of rock n roll
yup
without a doubt
All to give Bowie time to do a costume change! 😂
Sure.
And a couple of bumps, no doubt. @@john8451
The kids in this footage are pure rock. Eternally. I love these girls so much! They make the show. Bowie knew this. He WAS the show. Perfect synch. For all to enjoy for eternity.
Eternity.
In my opinion David is the greatest rock artist of all time
He's definitely up there
Moonage Daydream is my first intro to David Bowie ❤🤘🏽🎶⚡
Arguably the most important solo artist of the 20th century
For me too!! 👏👏
@@Sin-cere19nau9hty0 Welcome aboard the Bowie train, love hearing about new fans! You’re so lucky to experience someone~thing that’s fresh and new! 😊
This solo is like the blueprint of the essential electric guitar! Distortion, delay, bending, Tons of raw sound! This is pure Sex!!
Listen to his album Live at the Tower Philadelphia 1974. In my view, that's it.

Nothing ‘common’ about it! Don’t fake it baby…lay the real thing on me…
Of course David has stage presence in every song he does. But look at Mick! The tone, the physicality, the fierceness. He becomes one with the guitar and is a monster!
The spider’s from Mars - definitely enhanced David’s career.
Love when they do the walk~stance together in perfect unison, Mick’s outfit is da bomb…whew, such a gorgeous man! 😅
I think he invented fierce!
Mick Ronson "Ronno" underpinned Walk On the Wild Side with Lou Reed and John Mellencamp's Jack and Diane 🤌
Of all the guitarists that worked with Bowie over the years, Mick Ronson and Robert Fripp are my favorites
David’s chance meeting with Mick was the catalyst that set the foundation of Bowie’s future success. These two had and continue to have a profound influence on my life. Thank you both so much RIP.
It's not often David Bowie gets upstaged, Mick Ronson completely nails that
Absolutely monstrous guitar playing.
David planned it!
@@johnjohnson3709 hey John, happy to see you commenting again after your previous one being 7 months old. I'm always here too, dear. :P
@@93CarpeDiem thank you but I’m not exactly sure about what you mean.
Simply amazing! Bowie was a genius that changed music forever! I really consider this version, with Mick Ronson’s guitar solo, the best version for this song!!
Same
Same
Always in his creative element
Ist sie auch. ❤❤❤
I do appreciate Bowie. Peter Gabriel was also way ahead of his time for theatrics. The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway was maybe the first Live Rock Broadway Show.
THIS is how to transcend a song. The studio version was already great, the live version is a masterpiece!
A masterpiece!!
Fifty years later, this still stands up as a fine, fine piece of work - at least in my opinion.
This live version of Ziggy Stardust is great, Mick Ronson's guitar gives me chills every time I listen to it, he borders on genius. Ronson is for me one of the best guitarists of the 20th century.
Back when concerts were so cool.....the music, the band members, the attendees.
David was so far ahead of his time, that humanity will never catch up.....
Love the beautiful girl who's miming to the song at 0:53. Every rock and roller should aspire to seeing that level of emotion when they're peforming. What a great "space face"!
I was a teenager when this was happening. I thought it was so magical. Now I’m 68 years old and it still is pure magic!! ❤
We grow up in time when rock was so far ahead anything today. I grew up SF CA bay area Winterland & the Fillmore in SF,CA was cheap even if you had a fair job. I would go every week unless I went camping in the Sierra/Lakes.
Bowie for ever.
it's pure magic & pure legendary
Bowie for ever love
Unsere Generation Unsere Musik. Basta. Nix Beatles.
I’m 64 and going to see this show in Blackburn in May 1973 was the best experience of my whole life ❤❤❤
I’m 64 and feel the same 🇬🇧😂
I'm 64 and seen him many times over the years but not this one unfortunately
You are all so lucky!
On behalf of all the Bowie fans in their 40s I'd just like to say..... you lucky bastard !
❤
The young lady doing the very emotive dance moves at around 1 minute has always been my personal choreography to this ineffable song ❤
Hard to believe she will be in her sixties now.
@@patrickcordall4803 yeah it’s crazy
Yes! I love her! Wish I could interview her and ask her what that concert that song that performance meant to her. She was channeling something that night. I so agree.
BEAUTIFUL woman too. It looked like she was doing pantomime. Bowie was one of those himself.
Yes it would be great to meet her in person
I love the young fresh faces in the audience, they're all in their late 60's and 70's or no longer of this earth now.. 🤙🤙🤙
I am happy that these videos are remastered, long live the great Ziggy Stardust ❤

Mick ronson was a fkn great musician one of the best never will you see a guy like him again he played & wrote true genius 💯 R.I.P MICK & DAVE
I love hard rock
Mic Ronson underrated guitarist
Best solo performance i've ever heard... just alucinating...thanks mick Ronson You are the best
Mick Ronson always gets all the shout-outs for this (quite rightly!), but Jesus Christ, the drumming!! Amazing stuff from Woody.
The bass player ain't bad either. 🥰
An amazing band at their prime. Maybe something to get scared of.
The Whole Band was on fire, Omg!!😅
Woody & Trevor killing it As Always 🔥🔥🔥
The bass was really pounding. Loved it. Reminded me of Chris Squire.
Makes you re-consider the moments you'd go back to witness if you had that time machine
Thank you for uploading this! Truly Incredible! Mick Ronson-WOW
Anyone else brought to tears by the guitar solo? I feel like it’s all the pain in my heart screaming 😢

One of the best live Bowie’s
Rip david und ron. Thank you for musik.
IMO Bowie was the best rock n roll artist he was a genius R. I. P Ziggy 💫🙏🏻🕊
Stimmt.❤❤❤
Awesome guitar solo by the only one Mick Ronson ! Rest in peace and power Bowie & Ronson.
❤❤❤ rip bowie and Mick und thank for the Musik.
There will never be a better version of this song ever. This is a perfect example of how to do so much with a guitar solo with so little. Just transports you
Seeing listening to this makes me feel so bad for those that don't, and miss out on possibly one of the greatest artists to live.
F*** em 😂
The way the girl at the beginning sings along is awesome,so into the sound x
Such a good version of the song. Mick’s solo is peak music
Bowie always did "versions" of his songs. they were never the same as on the record.
Mick Ronson is the unsung hero of British music: Wrote/ play the piano, string arrangements on "Perfect Day" and co produced Lou Reed's Transformer's album. Among other things.
if i could back in time id go see David as Ziggy as i was too young to see this then
Best live performance (for me). Finally on the official channel! Mick's solo is amazing and David is mesmerizing. And the fans are totally... enthralled.
Hey you might like a band called The Doublejumps if you like David Bowie
Cool 😎 😊❤
Greatest time in music ever.❤❤❤
I'm so grateful that I got to live at the same time as David Bowie.
The fans are part of what makes this particular video so cool. I love the space-face girl who mouths the words with gestures. So cute. ❤
Such a great live performance
Please release the film in digital format! Everyone around the world wants to see it
OMG those DRUMS, those fills!!!

I was thinking the same and tuned in to the bass, too... the pounding bass made me think of Yes - Chris Squire. Bowie and Ronson were obviously phenomenal, but the rhythm section was too. The energy was just amazing

When we grew up with Bowie all along in his career, we just got a part of him in our cells, with strong vibrations listening to him
Yes. We all grew up together ❤
This has to be one the best ever live performances of all time
I am so freaking happy I got to see him as Ziggy ...
I love this performance so much
Ja Ich auch.❤❤❤
Incredible to have this on TH-cam in such high quality. One of the greatest performances.
wake up guys David Bowie just posted
If anyone was to ask why Bowie was considered a rock god this would be the answer.
What a night that must have been , fantastic .
Stage Presence!!!! ❤
Kel Rhoads took little Randy to a Bowie concert at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium on this Tour. After Randy Rhoads saw Mick Ronson play this Song , Randy became a Mick Ronson Doppelgänger. Randy Dressed like Ronson, Cut his Hair like Ronson, got a Guitar like Ronson’s. The rest is History. I must say this remastered version of Moonage Daydream is Absolutely Fantastic
He sure did, loved Randy Rhoads fantastically talented and so handsome still miss his brilliance
Randy stated it several times that Ronson was idol and most importantly his influence to adopt the style he had- hell he even incorporated his looks into his style . Your so right.
One of the best songs, artists and performances EVER, god damn thank you GOD
Best song ever. Best artist ever. Best guitarist ever.
j kinda like "Heroes" ?
It’s great too. With Robert Fripp on guitar.
Possibly the greatest performance in the history of modern music, if not music in general
The guitar solo on headphones is aural ecstasy
Don't take any music enhancing stuff before you put on your headphones or the solo will melt your brain 🧠

I don't understand why Mick Ronson doesn't appear so often on lists of the best guitarists in history.
What a masterpiece, so glad that I grew up in the 70s, what a time to be alive!

Mick Ronson’s guitar here is literally 🤯 each time I listen to it
One of the best live ever.
The energy of this live performance from Bowie and Ronson is scintillating

Seeing Moonage Daydream and the Ziggy Stardust film in theaters was absolutely incredible, I can’t imagine how amazing it was to actually be there. I wish I was old enough to have had the privilege to see him live, unfortunately I was just about a month old when he did his very last performance😭💔
Hey you might like a band called The Doublejumps if you like David Bowie
The age bit is so real to me bro

Just beautiful! This version is so brilliant it brings tears of joy to my eyes. Bowie (and Ronson) live forever.
It took me a little to see that this song is one of the greatest ever. The "presence" on stage of Bowie was tremendous and this solo is simply crazy ... look at the transe people are into !!! just because the intensity of song starts at the first note and ends at the very last, without a drop during 7+ minutes ... AMAZING
I saw this in the cinema, and it was the most incredible experience of my life. I hadn't heard the live version before, so I really loved this part.
i went to THE one at hammersmith odeon - fucking amazing. walked out feeling like a different person
This - this video, this show, this film? What did you see in the cinema? ))
Wow those young kids in the audience are probably in their 60's and 70's now. Time flies 😐
All these young people in the crowd, so beautiful
this one of the most if not the most ELECTRIC performance ive ever seen, glad its in 4k now, shine on ziggy ❤
I grew up listening to Bowie This music brings back so many great memories of my life groing up in LA, California!
Santa Monica Civic and other SoCal venues were so much fun to go to a concert at! Everyone eventually played in LA.
Bowie's best ever song in my humble opinion & this absolute killer live take is just perfect & Mick Ronson's guitar work is awesome & not forgetting the other Spiders who were a top rank outfit...... Music making taken to another level here
thank you, been waiting for a long time for a better version of this performance, one of the finest

One of my favorites! Had to go full-screen for that! ☆⚡️♡
The song that made me a fan of his at 6 in late 1972 1st grade art class. It blew my mind I'd never heard anything quite like it.
OMG I've listed to Bowie since the 70's how is it that it's the first time I heard this song, at least live like this. OMG, I didn't know he could rock this hard. This is absolutely kick ass. This song would give those hard rock guys of that era like Black Sabbath a run for their money 😎. This is most definitely going on my playlist and a great work out song, for sure!
Mick is the one who made it rock!
I discovered this last night while lifting weights and rediscovered it today. It's phenomenal and was on repeat the rest of the time I lifted
@@joe1972 This is one of my go to songs when working out as well, usually Chicago live from 1970 th-cam.com/video/7uAUoz7jimg/w-d-xo.html; and Black Sabbath live 1970 th-cam.com/video/K3b6SGoN6dA/w-d-xo.html; other music as well but these three songs and one can work out hard 😊
