The alcantara steeringwheel cleaning is a top tip.
Another top tip with leather steering wheel is use a thick coat of leather fat. Apply it late at the evening. Remove in the morning. The bee wax or leather fat will get into the leather. It will push out dirt. With a rag afterwards you will wipe off the dirt. You can use water with detergent to get off more dirt. Then apply another (thin coat) so the leather is moisturized. After this you can apply some colour. So it will look factory original.
The whole process can take a few days. Let the leather fat/bee wax do the work for you.

hey i work at mercedes benz and whenever we do brakes on a vehicle we always grind the face of the hub down with a air wheel to get a clean surface bc the rust makes it uneven then we do a very thin film of anti-seize also we grease the pins i’ve seen brakes make creaking noise bc the hardware not being lubricated!! but it’s just an opinion im sure it would be fine 😎love the vids man

BTW , with those Brembo calipers you can leave the bracket bolts alone , and just remove the caliper only ,
using the two 10mm internal hex bolts which are much easier to access .
Can you still get the rotor off to replace it doing that? In my experience (no Mercedes yet, to be fair) the bracket tends to prevent the rotor removal...

Alex, I loved this series. You did a fantastic job at restoring that car.. If I was ever in the hunt for a Mercedes of any kind. I would only purchase it, if you did all the checking and mechanical work on the car.. Other than that, I would avoid them like the plaque.

Great video Alex! Try to use a stiffer bristle brush with light pressure. Sonax makes a great alcantara and leather brush as well as a great alcantara foam cleaner

FYI that was some sort of moth cocoon you found, not a spider eggsack. The debris inside was the pupa that would have eventually hatched into the moth.

Take care of your mental health during the recovery! The biggest thing I figured out over time l, for myself and others- is psychological health is grossly underestimated and completely dismissed during a physical injury, whether surgery or involuntary injury. I wish you a speedy bounce back.

I started at Enterprise rentacar as a porter, washing and being soaking wet all day.I worked at Walmart changing oil and tires at age 18. I then went on to Sears to do brakes and tires. I know you have the scars too. It's not a pitty party as I can relate. I would love to have classic Mercedes training. Grew up building Hondas, then realized the pure hp, torque, elegant design, comfort, craftsmanship, and engineering of Mercedes and it has been obsession ever since... Cars are my passion and turning wrenches, there's just something about it that sets me free! Lost my car in a flood a little while ago, so it's been rough trying to get a new job without a car. It was just a 2011 E350 4matic, but it was clean! Really cool of you to do such a kind gesture and help people. A lot of people have no idea what some people are going through... one tip for the brush is cut the bristles at a 45 degree, great for detailing as it stiffens the brush a bit but not too much

wow! you've unlocked a new level here!. For the last final "pop" on the alcantara, I like to use a very fine gage brass scratch brush. It makes it looks new.
You have done an absolute brilliant job on the C63. This is my dream car. Maybe one day I will own one, we will never know. Congratulations and excellent finish on the C63. 🙏👍
You did a great job on the whole car. The alcantara is a whole other story. I have spent years trying to figure it out. The right brush makes all the difference. you removed the built up dirt but in doing so you pulled all the fiber hairs.
