once, my mum got kfc. I have a Chinese mum, when she was getting the takeaway, a blonde woman attacked her, and said "Wheres your ticket?" And my mum showed her the ticket. The woman attacking my mother, thought she could bully my mum because were CHINESE. Why they thought this is because usually, Chinese people arent good at speaking english. After the "karen" asked where her ticket was, my mum said "Wheres yours? You shouldn't even be here." Then, she left because everyone stared at her. Biggest W my mum had taken in her life.

I came across a male form of a Karen which is apparently known as Ken 😂 I was once talking to a retired teacher who is in his 80’s, he asked me what I was studying? I said English literature and Language. He said how can you be admitted on that degree when you are not from England? I was born in England and gained all my education here. Just because I’m Asian he assumed I am incapable of going to university. Ken’s ignorance was astounding.🤷🏻♀️

It's not the subject. It's the work load. I am easily overwhelmed and have a bad memory. If I have to do too many things at once (check notes while completing multiple assignments, then not finding what I'm looking for and struggling to remember it, etc), I panic and end up doing nothing. Hence: why I'm failing.
I always do great on the tests anyways 🤷♀️.
Also, if you listen closely to people speaking English, half the time they are not using proper English anyway. So a lot of people fail at correct punctuation and grammar and such. Also spelling words, because they have phones and laptops that just autocorrect a word for them.
Because essays. Can u do essays?
To be fair some people are just not the greatest at language, including their own language. I've met some English speakers with worse grammar and spelling than me and I've also met some people who don't know what some words mean and how to do basic things such as writing letters in my country despite it being in their first language. Just be grateful you are born with sense
I can list a few:
1. Some music lyrics/rap songs aren't grammatically correct. "You must not know about me".
2. The "oppressed" keeps changing definitions of words like "woman".
3. Speaking and using English fluently makes one sound "privileged."

Okay, but the fact that it's his second language is probably WHY he is doing better. Think about it, if you speak a language already, you're more likely to be cocky about it and study less. Meanwhile, if you're learning a language anew, you are more likely to constantly check to make sure you really know it so you don't mess up and look dumb.

Good point. Filipino language can be confusing too if you don't know it very well. Although I'm a Filipino, we didn't know the Hiligaynon ( my native language ) equivalent of some words. Like the color " yellow ". It's " dilaw " in Tagalog language but I don't know what it is in Hiligaynon.🥲
Now a days it isn’t a surprise that first language English kids don’t do well in language arts (elementary school) and then English (jr/sr. high school) because they aren’t taught properly. Grammar, sentence structure, essay writing, research, plagiarism, anything related to writing and speaking English isn’t done well in public schools. I hear so many use the wrong too to two, there they’re their and hear youth and young adults say “I seen that” instead of “I saw that”. Teachers better tighten up on the basics or there’ll be way too many people wanting positions of power that sound uneducated/illiterate.
