When I first moved to Boston in 1989 I had an all black '76 Chevy Blazer. It was a fun truck and very capable in the winter. I've just ordered both a black model and an orange model.
A little later than other creators on releasing content but by far the best video on this yet! No one else played it out so well and only one other had actual run video that I saw. Great work!
Thank you! Shipping to New England had me behind, but I’m happy with how the video turned out. An advantage of uploading late also means I can watch all of their videos and take notes 🤣
@@CapeCrawlers it was worth it! I also like how your testing criteria stays consistent so across multiple videos it's comparable vs just random driving shots.
@@CapeCrawlers it would be cool to see you set it up with rear steer (that my plan for the one I ordered) using stock parts as much as possible or some brass upgrade parts. Maybe use the stock front on the back and swap in a brass front??
Just ordered mine as well. Having been out of the rc game for a bit, I'm planning on smaller scale vehicles and setting up an outside course. Will most likely mod it as others have mentioned.
@@CapeCrawlers thanks man. I do have a plan. My next rig will be the AX24. Then, find a trailer and hitch for the K5. I just started watching ur video on the AX upgrades.
great rig review! I was bummed that those of us in Canada could initially not pre-order, only to get a late night email from FMS advising me that those of us in Canada are now eligible for the pre-order, and so I pre-ordered!! Can't wait for this little rig to arrive! Woo Hoo!
Love the look of this K5 for sure!! They did a really good job on the scale aesthetic of it and the performance for a trail truck is very nice. I will say the shorter looking wheel base kinda turns me off alittle bit but that wouldn’t be enough to turn me away from buying one! Nice overview Adam! 😎
Hi Adam, thanks for your videos, just ordered mine too. Thanks to your videos now I own 3 rc’s you been a great influence on my car choices 😁 also appreciate your discount codes too.
My best friend had a bright green late 70’s version with the roll bar and chrome wheels. Absolutely loved it. This thing instantly reminded me of my childhood!
Hi Adam Thank you for the video, It made me go and buy one, this truck is awesome, I think that despite of being lighter It can compare with the trx4m ,i filled the shocks and It works more realistic. FMS is super brand for me
I really love how they did the body clip release in black instead of white like all the smashers . I took a black sharpie through all three of my smashers blends in with the frame now from the side those tabs stuck out like a sore thumb now you don’t see them
Back watching again, can’t wait till I get to do that pull the lid off of the container That it comes in, I did already order the orange and white one also
I had this exact Blazer back in 2001... Literally same color and wheels and lift size. I wish I had a pic of it.... Pretty much exactly this but 1 :1. Has some issues, rotted in behind doors and under in the wheel wells but was a looker for sure
Oh man I’m in love, can’t wait to get mine going to be so awesome. I’ll get the orange and white one down the road that black is just beautiful though my favorite
I'm new to your channel and I am enjoying your videos. My K5 is on pre-order so this review has been helpful on what to expect out of the box! Thanks!😊
Back watching again, my tilt angle on my orange and white K5 took the camper top off Row bar and lights on I have the Max smasher tires and rims on my tilt angle is 49 degrees
Yeah, I was kind of hoping they did it deadbolt style and made the rear links longer. Can’t really stretch it without it looking weird. I’m sure somebody will throw a k10 body on the fcx.
So I ordered 2 one in black an one in Creamsicle. It grew on me and now I have 2 different types of things I'll do with them, one for mudding an one for crawling/trail
Thx for this informative Video. I love this Body. I started into the Minis with the CR-24 and was not much using it. Then i tried the TRX4M Bronco. Changed the Electronics and i love it. This Truck looks awesome and i didnt heard the Electronics as much as on the TRX4m in this Video. Is it as loud as or didnt i heard right. 2 Speed Transmission and this Body is Awesome and if the ESC works good then its a Buy.

You can oil fill them with the o rings. Which is better than T word company. My trx4m shocks all leaked out within a week. I’d rather them come dry and I can slime them and seal them properly.
Hello Adam, thank you for the blazer review love the old school trucks would be interesting seeing the both budget built bronco trx4m vs k5 blazer budget build on the course, thank you and love how you make these rc trucks seat low and flex a lot great color choice on the black k5
Rocks and Styrofoam two way different grip factors in play and its cool to see this being tested but straight out the box is a real capable crawler/trail rig with potential ,hope to see more upgrades coming out for this as its an awesome platform thanks for sharing
Great informative vid. I have a general question about the FCX24 power wagon - When it's on an incline, it will roll down the incline because the wheels are not locked. I can easily push it around on a flat surface. On my SCX24 the wheel are locked when not being powered. Can I get the FCX to behave like the SCX?
Yooooo very cool! Really good looking. How do you have the springs setup on the Gladiator? I mean with springs, Without, or with Stock springs. And where do you miznt them? I got double Barrel now and im looking for a lower eine cuz i have the Stock springs in there rn and i have them Chassis mounted
Stock shocks and stock springs. I’ve got a grizzly works LCG kit that allows for a lot of shock mounting positions, so I’ve tweaked the mounting using that kit
Beautiful car ! I love the wobbling react to side impacts. 🥰No oil in the shocks, if you want to keep that. Too beautiful to run with this body. Same issue as my FMS Chevy K10. Have you seen the new Transmission gears from meus for the Trx4m. They made a gear set in between the stock crawl gears and the stock gears.
Where are you finding the 1/18 scale model? I am only able to find the 1/24 model

I just started watching ur video on the AX upgrades.
I especially like that the headlights have a yellow tint so they look more halogen and not LED. Great video. Thanks for posting it!
Good point on the headlights!

I feel like the weakest point of this chassis is the short wheelbase. But nice to see more competition in the 1/18th department

I should have. It's four bolts on the underside of the bed. Super super simple.
I love the blazer design

Hope you enjoyed it!
Great video, I look forward to seeing how you move this forward to. Keep up the great work 👍🏻
It's nice , can't wait to throw some big tires on it
I’m thinking the Mofo UPW wheels with island spacers. Ultra wide!
Great shirt in the beginning 👍 all i would do to it was give it proper shocks wheel weights and tires
I’m thinking along similar lines. It doesn’t need much!
I think I also will convert the shocks forward to oil

The esc is not nearly as loud as the Traxxas. It is noisy though, but not as obnoxious as the high pitched wine from the TRX4M.
the only thing i will critique you on Is the fact that you didn't remove the windshield protector sooner LOL, love the vids keep up the fire content

The indoor course could use more grit. Spray glue and and a thin layer of sand would work great.
Yes, I'll do that when I give it a refresh

Thanks! I believe this has to do with the differential setup in the fcx24. You can improve this while driving using the drag brake functions
Sure looks nice. 👍👍👍

Black looks so sharp
Should we always disconnect the battery before turning off the model/remote?
Yes, that is whats recommended

The orange is my favorite. I'd like to get a second one and get that orange.
Great video, does it have the stock shocks installed? The shock travel seems so long!
Yes, stock shocks

Will the Injore mini pins/ wheel combo fit under this vehicle with stock shocks?
Yes I think so. It clears the LGRP trail kings easily, so I think the pins would fit fine

What will really be awesome it’s a trailer hitch yeah
You’re the second TH-camr to say that it’s 1/18 scale when it’s actually 1/24.
And I even knew it was 1/24! To the eye it’s so much bigger than an scx24 I just default to 1/18
