i was so happy that there weren't huge time limits like in kingmaker.
Yup me too.
Yeah, i never liked that in games. For a mission or two its ok, but thats it.
I still love Kingmaker but damn I wouldve loved it more if there wasn't a time limit. Wotr is also just much better
As i just pick up this complex game and start looking for guides i've found your channel. You definitely made the best WOTR videos on yt and it's not even close. Also your vibes and everything is so chill and fun to watch. I'll make sure to keep support everything you did onwards. Thank you for making me and bunch of others enjoy this game even more🙏🏻
Thank you so much!
Your reasoning for what buildings and why is invaluable information on their impact to Crusade Management. I have learned so much between this video and your previous one on Act 2. Great work.
Awesome glad this was helpful!
Dude you're a saint for putting this together!
Your guides are very insightful and your are very pleasant to listen to. Thanks for all the great info
Probably the best crusade management guide. great job!
Omg thank you. These videos are invaluable, I do know the basics but I feel like I make alot of mistakes with buildings and resources management. This will pretty much eliminate that!
You're so welcome!
I do like building Citadels early because adding 3 days extra for time it takes enemies to take fort over, makes it really easy for that not to happen. Even with only 1 army.
Yup that's why I mention it as an option but to get the most out of your trainable units you'll need to take it down when it's time for spellcasting units.
Great video, thank you. I think I've watched it a half dozen times to catch all the info presented in it. So helpful for a casual player as myself
Awesome I am glad it was helpful!
This was a great asset to me. I am now more confident in crusade management. Thank you!
I just spent most of today reading and listening to videos on how to improve my crusade management skill and then finally came across this TH-cam video. In 50 minutes I learned more than the rest of the day. This video was put together so well that it explained everything a beginner should have know before I spent multiple hours in Act 3 not knowing for sure if I was proceeding correctly. Thanks for this great tutorial and look forward to watching your other videos.
Thank you! Glad you found this video helpful!
Watch it in 2x speed and it's a 25 minute video.
Here is little to appreciate all the work you did to create such a detailed guide.
Thank you!! Glad you found the guide helpful!
Amazing video in preparing me for Act 3 and beyond. Thank You!
My pleasure!
Great Guide! Was confused with the building system, this video cleared it right up, thanks!!
My pleasure!
First time coming across your videos. A wealth of information. Thanks for the advise, I am just finishing Act 2 for the first time.
Awesome glad you are enjoying the content!
Great video. Perfect to watch in 2x speed. So much info packed in 25 minutes.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Another banger video. I just got to this Act so this information is very useful.
Well done video! It's an easy leap after playing the kingdom management in kingmaker, but the video was great and showed how similar they are.
Amazing videos I love all your content had to watch the entire video to understand the difference in mechanics from the previous game 100 kudos SG
Thank you! Glad you found the video helpful!
Thanks! Learned a lot.
Pacing in the campaign is also critical. Lost a campaign because my main army was too aggressive and the party took its time visiting required locations. With little to kill, morale plummeted, and my backup army failed to defend outposts.
Yup take it easy and do things at your pace.
I consider that a flaw in the design and was hoping Owlcat would change that aspect. Anyhow, it is important to know in advance!
Thank you! This is my biggest pain point for this game.
Might have to pass this on to a friend who is finally doing his first playthrough of this game. I got it for him for Christmas... of 2021. :D
It's been fun hanging out and watching him play, though. Last night he had a round where Lann shot down a bunch of enemies in a row and I heard him call him "Lann the Mann." I've never been so proud.
LOL Awesome!
Very good Video. So informative. I was looking so long for a this kind of a tutorial.
Glad it was helpful!
Found your channel recenftly and had to subscribe. Even if I wasn't playing pathfinder I'd watch for your voice & demeanor.
Thank you! Welcome to the channel!
check out the maps which have the portal interconnected puzzles ("the secret of creation" quest). i used those to shorten down on my map travel massivly and i remember one outpost being almost right next to "core of the riddle", very good place for a teleportation circle.
Yup that's a great call out.
Thank you very much for this. It was super helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
This is a really helpful breakdown, especially to someone like me on their first play through. Looking forward to checking out the other videos on your channel (I loved the Divinity games too). Thanks!
My pleasure! Glad you enjoyed it.
Thank you so much for this!
You're so welcome!
Another amazing video, gonna have to watch this in depth. It's crazy I have over 200 hours in this but barely touched all that Crusade Management part of the game. I need to stop restarting already.
Yup Crusade Management adds a lot to the game!
Ohhhhh, I've been waiting for you to kick it with THIS content! (Monthly tip jar cannon: FIYAH!!!)
Thank you so much! Glad you have been enjoying the content this month!
New CRPG player here. I have been following your Ascension and Crusade Management video for guidance coz it was overwhelming to me to see those heaps of texts and mechanisms.😅
Your videos have been really helpful to me ease into the system. Love your tone, love your subtle guides and I'm indeed having a fantastic time playing this one.
Thank you for making videos with care and dedication and you just made a new friend and a sub of yours. Greetings from India.👍
Thank you!! Welcome to the channel!
Thank you for this seres I don't get much play time so I am only now coming to grip with the adventuring side of the game, Mostly been just been making choices at random in crusade management
My pleasure!
Thanks for the great vid as always
My pleasure.
Big props to you for doing these videos. Crusade management is the bane of my existence, but your videos make it seem like I'm just overreacting lol
😂
Very good. Thank you. Looks way better than kingmakers system which I burned out on.
My pleasure.
I do supply centers early on along with a couple of inns on the right side (which is essentially safe) so I don't have to spend my own cash on the crusade. You can always sell them later. Diplomacy always seems to max out first. I always pick Marksmen & max out Rangers as mercenaries. As I use a fort style layout in combat, I use Shield Bearers to stand around the keeping enemy melee away from my ranged units.
I spread them out more to hopefully give less chance that an aoe effect wipes out my entire back line.
Haven't even finished act 1 yet but damn this game is loaded with stuff you have to learn.
Yep same problem was close to dropping it, then something happened in act 1 that made me finish the whole game, best advice I can give you is to lookup puzzles online if you spend more than 15 min on it, 90% of them need a requirement no one of us has and that would be to read the mind of the dev who programmed them in the first place
very helpful thanks
My pleasure!
Great guide!
Thank you!
Thx, nice tipps.
Make sure the leader of yo main team does fire damage. Has helped me immenesly on core with standard for crusade battles.
95% of enemies weak to fire.
Units: Raiders (Calvary) also get the "spoils" ability, which lets them get Finance points for killing units.
- Headhunters (Ranged) do their ranged retaliation *after* being attacked, so their response will always be weaker, and if they're wiped out, there's no retaliation.
- Convicts (Infantry) have a depressingly low morale. Late game this is frustrating as they will frequently try to run away rather than fight.
- Gifted units are great for throw-away scouts as single stacks so you can try and map out the campaign map.
Buildings: Engineering building is essential! It cuts the cost of further buildings, making everything more long term cost effective.
- The Inn generates Finance points, but is incompatible with any recruitment buildings.
- And essential early building for all forts is the Supply Center, each one generates 1 Material Point per day, which is an early bottleneck you need to get past.
- Adjoining buildings, to my knowledge, only affect on the sides, and *do not* affect diagonals!
Mythic Path: Remember that your chosen mythic path will impact your campaign map significantly! Lich, for example, causes mercenaries to be much more expensive, making mercenaries less ideal.
Good tips. I don't use Supply Center's because my slots are always filled with buildings for trainable units.
@@SlanderedGaming considering that you can always trash the supply centers later once you get the material points flowing, I prefer to build them early on to get around the bottleneck. Finance points are generally easier to get than material points for act 3.
Nice guide, like almost every made of your. But I would like to share my oposite tactic from my own play through. As main general I used the same one as your, but I get focus more on master of maneuver and in the post I put building economic, like inn, storehouses and shelter. One council decition made these building giving more materials and finance, so I had no problem with buying every soldier and mercenary which I wish. I also used more generals, five which let's me dealing with scouts of the demons without any problems. To be fair, my main general at end of the act 3 reach level 12, not 13 as yours, but two of my others generals reached level 7 just by dealing with scouts parties. I'm against spending money which my hero gain on the map, because there are a lot usefull stuffs to buy for party and in my opinion it is waste to lose them for army. Like ring of pyromancer, which increases damage made by fire, perfect for Ember, or ring for spontaneous casters which gives them a lot fire spell, perfect for Daeron. And googles are mostly only to buy.
Yup that's why I mention you should buy all of those first before plunging any other money into your crusade. It's important to pick those things up and make combat easier.
I can't even imagine the headache that the making of this system for the game was lol
Actually if you are on the trickster path your generals can gain exp everyday using board games. Combining this with Favoritism and zealous student will allow you to have four powerful Generals.
Thanks.
My pleasure!
The very first building to construct is the Engineer's workshop, since it lowers the cost of all your other buildings and speeds them up as well.
I usually upgrade Lands of Yath Watch first, because it is right next to Heart of the Mystery, which gets portals to all the puzzle locations as you discover them, acting as a sort of rapid transit system for your party.
Yup that does make sense.
I usually like to build the engineering workshop first and wait until it's done before building anything else. It more than pays for itself, though honestly the first couple of buildings won't make that much of a difference.
Yup that's a legitimate strategy, I am just impatient. LOL
Thx man
Glad you enjoyed it!
It might be ill-advised, but I'm gonna see how far i can get with Setsuna and my undead troopers.
Focus my buildings to max my income in act 3, then be bonkers rich starting in Act 5.
Necessary? Nope. But RP-wise, becoming a Lich is expensive and undead is like ... good financial strategery. ... if it works.
BTW you got me sayint "bonkers" lol thanks for that
My pleasure! 😂
I didn't hear about this in the video, but I probably missed it. If not you all should know stacking monuments and things that keep moral high basically means double attacks for all your units. It is kinda OP once you get it
This is absolutely true. I didn't go that route because my armies main strength is the general not the units so attacking twice with units isn't quite as helpful but it's still really powerful.
I may have to try that route. I just picked up the game not long ago, and your channel had helped me a lot. I hope to keep seeing the channel grow.
So I have a question (and I've been playing at Easy Crusade, so my experience is probably biased). I had been told by another site to put in a Supply Center in each fort (+3 Material income/turn) and Engineer's Workshop (-10% building construction) fairly early, since at least early on, I was mostly limited building-wise by my Material points. Am I doing this wrong?
Eigneer's Workshop makes sense because you can only build one of them anyway and it does significantly reduce the cost. In my opinion Supply Centers don't make sense at all long term.
@@SlanderedGaming Thanks! I'm about to try playthrough #3 and will keep this in mind.
Anyone else have the problem where you do the outpost to bastion decree and the option to upgrade an outpost doesn't come around?
Nope I don't think I have experienced that.
I was wondering if anybody has advice on how to manage things a Lich character as I know it gives you a decent amount of zombies and skeletons so I was curious how it interacts and effects things.
If I remember correctly you want to focus more heavily on Mercenaries because building up trained units isn't nearly as viable. Your zombies make up the bulk of your units.
In this Crusade part, I'm really lazy about doing it, hah😂
Do barracs actually work? I have a lot but my number of recruitable units doesn't seem to increase
Yes but remember it only increases the number for TRAINABLE units of one type. You will not get more mercenaries from them.
ok nice for geting started in ch3 but were do we go i keep geting soft locked what do i do to get to ch4?
South of Drezen is a city called Wintersun. Liberate the city there and during the final conversation a demon you should be able to pick up a key. That key leads to a sanctum area that you need to clear.
ok thanks@@SlanderedGaming
To be fair the crusade is easy once you grasp it. I suggest 2 armies.
I moved my main party aka main character after the beginning of act 3 and I can't control them again . Help please
What's stopping you from controlling them? Are you getting an error?
i just started act 3 a few days ago. my buddie told me to fill all my forts with hospitals and trading centers... boy do i feel sheepish
😂 It's all good whatever gets you through the crusade.
Thanks so much for your content, it is very helpful. I am in Act 3 and I still haven’t figured out how to build on places other than Drezen.
My army is depleted and even though my general is lvl 11 i cant kill the lvl 9 demon armies. I have unlocked most of the map up to Wintersun. My MC is lvl 11.
Am I outta luck and thus should ditch this playthrough? Can I still go through all of the quests and ignore enemy advancement?
Thanks, sorry for long post.
When you are in your war room click on the map. Once you are in the map screen click on the other location that you want to build on. Remember you can only build in places where you have defeated a Demon Fortress. That has definitely happened by Act 3. There is an option in the menu that sets crusade management to auto. You'll miss out on the additional gear and a secret ending that you almost certainly would miss out on anyway. So I would say just set it to auto and then play through the game again using my guide so it will be much easier. :)
Thank you!
white dude here, lol. Thanks very much for this. gonna give a tip...thanks again
Wtf?! This shit was complicated before. Act 3 is nuts
😂
How does the teleport party work
When you are traveling on the global map there will be a bar of crusade abilities at the bottom. One of them will be a teleport that moves your entire party to Drezen or one of the forts you have setup with a teleportation circle. It can only be used once per day.
Thx I have the option to use it but no teleport circles yet
Cant ruin the 666 likes on this video, trying to bless my Demon playthrough on the next go around.
LMFAO
Damn i have no idea how many hours i playd Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous but some things i had no idea how they work. thx for explaining i see more clear now i wondered why i could not recover some of my units now i know why or that some buildings can make such a big difference i usually only build one building of a type i don't know that they stack if you build more of them. i also always tryed to place my buildings so that the bonus of for example a smith can reach the recruitment buildings that is so annoying yould be better ohh you have build a smith great all units now get the bonus not only the ones next to it. again thx for uploading. i wonder if you will make videos for Baldurs Gate 3 ?
Glad you enjoyed it. I will absolutely make videos for Baldur's Gate 3 once it comes out.
Tldr; skie hai
the whole crusade thing is what made me quit the game. I haven't finished it to this day, never went back to it. The thing is, yes you can skip and automate it - but in doing so, you hurt your inner completionist. There are quests you will not be able to finish, items you will miss and potential dialogues and cutscenes you will never get to experience. But in order to not skip it, you would have to slog through a very shitty, very basic and annoying version of Heroes of Might and Magic. A loose loose situation.
I never played HMM so I cannot compare. LOL
Why are units so damn expensive?
To make the decisions harder for you. LOL
@@SlanderedGaming was act 3 a slog for you too?
2:28 did he say curses or does he not know how to pronounce crusade 😂
In Kingmaker as you explored the game you ran across several curses that could be investigated within the Kingdom management system.
Crusade management is the most boring aspect of this game: and tedious
Yeah it's difficult for a lot of people that's why I put the guides out.
