Bristol Manor Farm (eighth tier of english football) do a gold hospitality ticket, you get to eat with a dinner with the players after the game and get a tour of the stadium
I just think the mentality around hospitality at a lower level club makes you feel more at home. That even they might not have the massive stadium and the greatest players in the world that you are part of their family. Thats what its all about.
Don't abandon this series, make it a "visiting the worst hospitality from x country" instead. It would be a great way to discover lower tier football teams around Europe
There is a direct public bus line from Stuttgart airport to Reutlingen: About 45 min to 1 hour, costs less than 10 Euros. Asking at the information desk could have helped.
If you consider "no hospitality" worse than "worse hospitality", then yes, I guess it would work a Romanian/Moldovan 2nd tier club. But hey, you might not even pay to watch a game
They played in the second division twice in their history. Last time 2002/03. Armin Veh who later won the Bundesliga with Stuttgart in 2007 got them promoted.
@@awaydaysfootball To be exactly these are Semmelknödel (bread dumplings). A typical side dish for the South and Southwest of Germany. Sometimes they're made with smoked meat cubes but I prefer it vegetarian.
The Ultras probably all have been there and have probably been supporting their team at every home game since going down from 2. Bundesliga so they are absolutely the real heroes here.
Oh, let's go, you're doing Germany, I hope you had a great time here! I'm going to my local 6th tier club (SpVgg Landshut who is also fighting relegation) next weekend for the first time in my life as I was inspired by your videos visiting little league clubs. Love your vids, keep it up!
I would have never expected to see a video about Reutlingen on your channel but I'm here for it. Tell me when you're around Stuttgart again, I will happily take you wherever you need to go. And you should visit VfB Stuttgart or FC Heidenheim, both our regional first divison clubs are doing really well currently and have a great story to tell.
Germany is the closest to England in terms of footballing culture in Europe in that they also have support all the way through the pyramid which is great to see
2. Bundesliga also on par with the championship! Both leagues have massive clubs in them now, so basically it’s what the top tier devision of each country used to be
Exactly. In France tier 5 would be in front of a couple of dozen, even in Spain clubs don't have much support below the top two divisions. In Portugal, forget it, strictly friends and families only.
As a Brit in Germany you couldn't be further from the truth. Very, very different footy cultures in almost every way possible. Ellis even pointed a few of them out. Simlarities pretty much end after attendance sizes and willingness to consume beer (not even consumption of beer, due to English laws). Sweden, Denmark and of course Scotland are the closest footballing experiences to England I've experienced, and I've watched games in most Euro nations.
Watching videos with Ben in them makes me feel like I'm 15 years old again watching a King's Lynn Town awayday after getting home from school. Been watching from Chicago Illinois for years!
Another fantastic video lads. I love visits to Germany, as you said the people are so friendly. Ive still never managed a game there yet, but its high on my list of "must do's"
Even 5th tier in Germany have this kind of hospitality that most of our first division team in Malaysia didnt have, i said it again FIRST DIVISION, it was embrassing 😢
Since binging your channel 6 months or so ago you reminded me of the joy of live football/sport. I missed if from back home after I moved but since then Ive become basically a regular at Jong Ajax, a really nice night out, cheap and family friendly vibe, and Ajax will have some great players coming through I can claim to know before football manager does. I have a champions league quarter final coming up with Ajax Womens vs Chelsea Womens in the in the Johan Cruyff Arena and had some great fun going to FC Amsterdam in the 5th (I think) tier. Cheers for re-igniting my love of going to live football.
Szene E is a good ulra group. They had some rough years because the decline of the club. Also their biggest rivals all got promoted. Hard times for the lads.
Many thanks to both of you for coming all the way down to our club in the fifth division and for eating properly! I heard that the food in England is a bit problematic? No, joke! 😆 You can also eat well in England. I love the brown sauce and Fish and Chips. But it's nice that you were in Reutlingen! Thanks! 😘

Guys, I can recommend Cracovia in Krakow - the most bizarre orchestrated fan involvement I've ever seen. One bloke with a mic and another with a drum set the scene. They all know exactly when to set off fireworks, or raise a giant banner, or sing a particular song. it's like a west end musical based loosely on football. The game finished 0-0 and was lousy but I'll never forget it (great wine bar though) - they never shut up for the whole game

I don’t know, it looked like a 25 Euro spread to me including the beer. Which means you pay 40 Euro for a fifth tier league game. OTH, if they are friendly and welcoming that makes a lot up for it.
Being from the States that looks like an amazing deal. €65 in USD would get you a standard seat, a couple small items of food, and maybe one beer. That’s for mid market MLS. Go to NFL and you’d get inside and maybe a cold hot dog.
