Good timing! A friend asked me to do a pet portrait of her son’s girlfriend’s dog. Gave me 3 months notice. I’ll procrastinate for 2 1/2 months usually. But I love drawing with graphite and I’m still a bit timid about watercolor. So this showed me a way to combine it with watercolor. I’m going for it!! Thanks Louise. :)

Nice Louise. Very. You are a very good graphite artist as well as painter. If, IF, the weather is just right, I'm pretty good at drawing flies. It doesn't matter if I dishyurb that black shtuff in the penchils. Its all weather related. You good at drawing and flanging paint. Thankee kindly for lettin us watch you do it to it.

I started my 2-d art adventure with graphite drawing. Now I'm exploring watercolor and it is nice to see the two used together. My drawing teacher was kind of a purist. She thought color distracted from the drawing.

Oh perfect thankyou! I have a love of pencil and was wondering how to and what would work to merge these two mediums! I have searched for other ideas but as usual yours has helped me most! I think i better find you on patreon!

@@LouiseDeMasi hope to see you mix mediums some more, have you tried color pencil with water color? I just love your work, i have been a dormant artist for a long time and im so excited to be drawing again. My dad used to do watercolor and my mom gave me a bunch of paper and his brushes so I want to do them justice, wish he could see your paintings he wouldve loved them.
I’m learning to work with watercolor and you are one of my favorite to learn from. Birds are going to be my favorite. Could you talk more about the size of paper your using in relationship to the subject in your work? How large you determine your going to paint your subject? Thanks! Thank you Evgenia. I used my iphone to do all the filming I've done so far. I'd like to get a camera soon though for the face to camera parts. The iphone works well for me for the painting footage.

What size brushes did you use on this painting? What are the 3 or 4 sizes brushes you would recommend to get or that you consider essential? Is there a more affordable brand than Da Vinci Maestro that you would suggest to buy?
