Jai's joy and energy is so infectious when she up in her feeling the music. You can't feel down listening to this song - so uplifting. As for the roller skate comment - this used to be at the roller rink all the time in the early 80s. But Half mocking her hand hand gestures had me on the floor! Such a great one. "China Grove" and "Taking it To the Streets" for a couple more with this sound and feels.
Guitarist Patrick Simmons is the one with the long hair. It's been over 50 years since this song's release, and he's still rockin the long hair, albeit a lot more gray now. When I'd see them in concert back about 10 years ago, his son was playing in the band. The son had long hair just like his dad!

The drummer Keith Knudsen and I had the same drum teacher the late great Jimmy Brown. Keith is from princeton illinois I live in princeton as does Keith's brother and sister. Sidley Keith passed away from cancer rip Keith you are missed.

Surprisingly, those helmets are still around - although not _exactly_ like the one the drummer's wearing. A US outfit sells custom "hockey" helmets like it in various colours (yellow too) with team logo on or off as requested. No chin strap. Apparently they're popular at hockey games when a goal is scored.....wearer turns on his/her hardhat light as well. 70s rock fashion took some weird turns...lol... lotsa bling and glitter and feathers--sky was the limit back then. 🤩

For me, this song is timeless. Love the chord structure, the general feel, the melody and words and of course, the entire performance. Love the song and love the reaction. (I thought he was female, by the way).
I'm 55 so it's been awhile, but if I was anywhere near you guys I'd slap on those skates and tear up the rink with y'all. I might be older but I'm not brittle. Lol. Another favorite at the skating rink was Dirty Laundry by Don Headly (from the Eagles) it was good song it you did any trick skating.
