    I recently learned this at a workshop, and it's so much fun to play with people. Love how you've made it more advanced

    This is so dang cool, can't wait to try it! One thing I learned from this video is that "riffs" and "licks" are two different things............ I thought those were the same, but oops, they're not. 😅 Thank you for this! 😊

    A great tutorial, Matt. I knew some of the basic riff but the advanced was completely new and will take some practice. A big thank you.

    Hi Matt! This is fantastic. Such a simple breakdown, I’m so happy you did this lesson. Combined with the blues solo 4 minute video this really made my day, finally able to just sit and improvise and it sounds great :) Big big thanks!

    My brief forays into learning
    finger-picking have not been
    very productive. I do not find it relaxing. I have tried the finger picking to "Hallelujah"

    I was playing along and there was a knock at the door.
    It was my Mama. It wasn't Yo Mama, it was my Mama.
    And she said "Mama don't allow no ukulele playing round here"

    Hi Matt big fan of your work solo and at rockclass. I believe you once said your uke was custom made, do you mind telling me exactly the various components? Your Kanile'a sounds unreal. Big thanks!

    • @MattDahlberg
      @MattDahlberg  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is a custom tenor Kanile’a! It’s lutz spruce and koa and had the custom inlayed numbered fretboard.

    Hi Matt, just wondering why I can't get/search the videos or even the channel of "Ukulele Kids Club Inc." on TH-camkids?? Could it be a setting issue for the Channel? the only videos/channel I can find from you is the "Ukulele Underground" channel but those videos are too advanced for my 4 year old.

    • @MattDahlberg
      @MattDahlberg  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Peggy! My guess is that their channel wasn’t marking content as “for kids”. You’d have to reach out the them for clarification though. Sorry for the the trouble!

    When I look up a D7 chord for the Uke it shows first finger covering the second fret of strings G, C,&E and second finger on fret 3 of the A string. You play yours a lot differently. Can you help me understand the difference? I'm a newbie if you cant tell.

    • @MattDahlberg
      @MattDahlberg  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      A D7 chord has a lot of different variations you can play. The one shown in the video is a common way to play that chord, even though it’s actually missing a D note!

    Cool! Do you have any lessons on the Baritone uke?

    • @MattDahlberg
      @MattDahlberg  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nothing that is exclusive to the baritone... yet!

      Do you play the Baritone?

      Play the same chord shapes on baritone and you'll be playing in the key of E.

    Hi Matt. I don't know if you'll see this post, but I was wondering........do you play more on concert uks or tenors? Thanks! Do you prefer one over the other? Thank you.

    • @MattDahlberg
      @MattDahlberg  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I prefer tenor sized ukuleles for their fuller tone and slightly larger size. 🤙

      @wendym2544 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MattDahlberg Thanks Matt! I'm having a hard time playing the larger tenor size, but I really wanted a tenor because of the fuller tone. Are there any particular concert uks that you feel have a fuller sound? Thanks again.

    • @MattDahlberg
      @MattDahlberg  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@wendym2544 It mostly boils down to brands - if you can get to a music store with lots of options to try then that is most ideal. Otherwise, I'd try to get a Hawaiian made instrument for the best tone. Check out theukulelesite.com and they'll help out!

      @@MattDahlberg I will do that. Thanks again. Appreciate your help.
