That was a COMPLETE BLAST!!!! I am a retired public school teacher of 28 years, and I'm here to tell you that you are one he77 of an instructor!!! Thank you!!!
I am actually a U-Bass player. I have 4 Kalas. I live on eastern Long Island, NY. In non-COVID times I play with a beginner uke group, so I often surf around looking at learn to play uke sites. I have been playing for about 18 months and can’t believe I missed finding you and your offerings before this. You are both a talented player and a talented teacher. I will be passing this link onto other players in our group. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Bette Lou....I just acquired a Kala U-Bass, just a beginner but wanted to learn the bass playing technique and others. I am pondering if you do teach online?
Mildred Coombs Have you checked out Stephen Cox? He has a lot of content on TH-cam and I believe he gives lessons via skype. He is very knowledgeable and, I think, approachable.
Picked up a uke 9 years ago but only self taught. This was the first tutorial video I ever used and I’ll be watching more of your vids in the future! Never played the blues before! Looking forward to unlocking a lot of new skills.
Took a little practice but I'm playing the blues! So much fun! Im 54 and never played an instrument, picked up ukulele Aug '21. All your lessons and patreon page has made learning fun!! Thank you!
You, Sir, are an excellent teacher. I have coached sports for decades and your approach (description, breaking things into constituent parts, demonstration, conveying enthusiasm etc) to elements you bring to a lesson is elite. Your lessons are utterly consumable. More power to you.
I teach a group of ladies the Uke every thursday afternoon. But I have decided to follow you from beginners' classes right through to picking,strumming,blues,etc.....love your. Tutorials. Thank you Dickie Ross Ayrshire Scotland
A beginner, found your videos and best fun I’ve had on my ukulele. 12 bar blues is a great way to learn how to practice chord changes. First time barred a chord and was successful. Looking forward to continuing this practice and finding your next. Grateful in Southport NC, USA.
GREAT! You make this crystal clear in a Muddy kind of way. I’m in Louisville, Ky. Been playing blues harp for 50+ years. Now adding Ike to my act at age 72z
Hi Kevin! I want to thank you a lot for your videos. It's helping me to learn to play ukulele. I'm from Brazil, and you are the best teacher that I have seen in TH-cam! Thank you very much! 😊
Hi from Peter in the UK just learning to play the ukulele for therapy i have a problem with Arthritis, always loved the Blues. I like lighting Hopkins rock mama great to learn this with you thanks again for your lessons.
Hi Kevin. I'm loving your tutorials here at beautiful Jan Juc, just over the hill from from Bells Beach, Surf Coast Capital of Australia. I'd been trying to play uke unsuccesfully for a couple of years. We just played chords & sang [in a couple of groups] but with no idea of strumming patterns. During the C19 lockdown, I found your site. After about a month of practicing with you, I decided to subscribe, committing to improving & learning how to play better. I practice most days, repeating your tutorials a few times until I have some mastery & returning to different series that I have completed. I have bad osteoarthritis in my hands but my fingers are becoming more flexible with improved fine motor control. This is a huge bonus, I can tell you. I'd love you to present a few slower numbers, until my strumming proficiency improves enough to be capable of more speed. Ive introduced a number of people from Geelong & the Surf Coast Shire to your series, including my husband who needs more dedication to improve. We enjoy watching the birds outside your window. Stay safe & continue making this pandemic less horrible. Leonie
I started learning the ukulele just over a year ago. Your videos were such a huge help in getting started with the fundamentals. I really appreciated your playlists on strumming and picking patterns. It wasn’t long before I picked up the baritone uke and this series has been great to learn about finger style technique. Thank you.
Hi Kev, Northern Queensland, Australia here, Our Queensland borders have just been locked down again, because of the outbreak of covid in Melbourne. Our Premier had only just reopened the borders to our Southern states when the cases began again in droves, in Melbourne and now spread over to Sydney. Loved your blues tutorial. 💕💕💖💙💛
Great video and well explained. This is a new area for me to give a good tune to play that sounds interesting without it being a song. As you also covered the I, IV and V, I can adapt it to other keys/chords. Sweet
A great exercise for me . I have done the blues shuffle in A with different teachers including BABAGEE and I love the shuffle and mute. The Blues in G is new to me. Will take a lot of practice and that D !!!!
Hi Man, great coach, I'm new to the ukulele, 74 years young, love the 12 bar blues, do a bit of singing too, I'm in Greece 🇬🇷 from Wales. Thank you for being there.
Thank you so much for that tutorial. I'm actually not that good at learning songs but after one hour practice time I can really play that. Thank you 😀💪
Hi, I am playing here in Belgium the ukelele for the first time….I have a guitar background….so the fingersettings are going well…the way you teach here the blues is going to help me on both instruments….thanks….grts Ben
The mutes are something that I will have to practice. They sound great. I find the super slow single strums so far apart that I can't really hear the progression. When you are doing super slow it would also help if you didn't put extra pauses in when you introduce the new bits.
Hi Kevin, I'm following your lessons from here in New Zealand and am enjoying them. I have been involved in music for many years but have never learnt to read music and have learnt by "ear" or following other musicians. It's been an eye opener for me learning all the different terminologies and names of chords etc and I'm totally engrossed with trying to play catch up with my music which I should have taken up at a younger age. Thank you for your skills and dedication to the music industry and supporting those who are keen to learn and further their skills in music whether it be for professional reasons or self satisfaction and pleasure.
Playing in HOT Tennessee, In the air conditioning of course. I really like the blues, this will take some practice. I won't give up until I'm six feet under!!! Thanks
Hi Kevin, a beginner on uke since september last year. Like you as well as yr lessons! Thank you for all yr effort and thank you for making people smile. Love from Holland, near Amsterdam ;)
Hi, I'm John from Belgium-Antwerp. I enjoyed this so much, I have 2 Uke's. 1 is a Korala(Hawai) and the 2nd is a Flight I guess it's Australian with a Amp Connection. Tha.ks for the lesson. I Just love the Blues. 🤘👍
Yay I am in Melbourne. Absolutely loved this. Smashing the 12 bars on my little silver resonator and you’re right - what could be better than playing the blues 😊
In San Diego and love your tutorial. I just started playing but this is the first time I think I almost played a song. Fun to practice too. My first goal was to play the theme to Bob's Burgers (still working on it and fun too). If I can play the 12 Bar Blues with the walk downs and turnarounds I would be thrilled. Thanks for your tutorial. Once again, you proved what I always have said..."I've never met a person from Chicago that I didn't like."
Many thanks! Maybe time to upgrade the ukulele to a solid wood. I think you'll notice a huge difference and it'll inspire you to play even more. allforuke.com/shop has quite a few listed. May I suggest Mahogany or Acacia solid. Kevin | Learn More 👉 allforuke.com
Yahoo get ya blues on. Love this a whole lot. Sadly i don’t know of any blues but always happy to be directed. Wet grey and cold day here in Sydney. Could do with a lot more of this stuff. Haveagoodone Kevin.

Really nice blues, I can't really do it with the mute chords, but I'm trying to learn it. Greeting from Bulgaria, I'm a little over 2 months into learning Uke, and am having a blast ^^.
Hey from Kentucky. This is fun and challenging! I’ve gone back to your video about muting in this type of strum pattern. My mind picked up the chord pattern easily, and it runs through my head all the time. And now although I have the island strum down for a year now, it’s a whole other thing to mute with my fret hand...while strumming. I’ve only known chucking with my strum hand. So slowly but surely these things will come together. That’s the fun, the challenge. It’s a great distraction in these times and I appreciate your sharing this with us! I love me some Stevie Ray Vaughn and I feel a little connection learning this!
Hello, Learning to play in East Flanders Belgium. On a Ortega tenor uke with red low G strings. Started with the 12 bar blues in A with an easier strum patern. Trying this now. Fun lesson. Thanks Cheers from Belgium.
Hi. I've just got myself a banjolele, I live in East Yorkshire, England. So this is my first ever lesson. Thanks to you I can now play a 12 bar blues. Cheers.x

Playing in Finland. Just started to play uke couple on months ago so I'm still a perfect novice. Found your channel very recently. I would like to learn more songs like this where the melody is played by chords instead of picking. Could be a bit more complex song than just three chords too. It seems to be hard to find tabs like that from the web, mostly there are just background chords for singalong and believe you me, I'm not going to start singing anytime soon... :)
Hi Allan from Newcastle upon Tyne England. Playing a Tenor Kala. Trying to come to terms with the walk down and turn around. Love Crossroads particularly by Clapton and Cream.
Hi Kevin, This was great! I used to play Chilly Winds on the guitar many years ago. This is the first time that I learned blues on the uke. Thank you so much. You are wonderful!
