It is not only the Leona and Diana thingy we get, I love how the writer combined a love story with a history lesson.We got to know so much about the Solari folkway and education. I have read a lot of comments ( not in this video because here ,we all are a man of culture in a lore perspective) complaining about the lack of Runettera lore it contains, i am well damn sure they haven't even read this. I also see comments say that this love story was forced. Well yes but no. Despite the fact that the creators of L&D wanted them to be canon from the beggining but Riot didn't allow it, look closely at the lines of the forbidden Rakkor tablet in the last paragraph. It says it all.Very well damn written that part bruh it gave me chills. For me, their love story can be considered a better love story than Xayah and Rakan( my opinion, pls dont fall on me i dont hate them xD). I mean...how it must have been felt when they both ascended? Ultimately they dont want to kill each other and Diana straight up spared Leona in their "break-up" fight. The aspects of Sun and Moon are sisters who also dont truly hate each other, but cant get fully along. I think it is very fitting that they possessed dissimilar lovers. By Leona and Diana reuniting and overcoming their differences they also pacify an eons long feud. It's sad to be on opposing sides, but only because they are will Lunari and Solari ever make peace.

Goddamn this was so well written! The diary notes were just so awesome to read and you could see how the letters between Diana and Leona became more casual as time went by. And with this story it didn't feel like they changed the characters' stories for the sake of changing, the writer did a great job!
Honestly at first I was a bit burned out, I expected more than teenage romantic drama and thought it was a bit generic and cringy at first but... yeah it convinced me the more it went on, I think it fits nice and it's certainly better than what we had before so I'm up for it. I do hope other champions get the same attention to rewrite in their histories.
The Leona x Diana parts make me do something similar to Taiga in toradora saying (spoiler): If you haven’t watched it then u should, but if you have you already know what I’m referring to!
Something interesting to note, the final scripture which speaks of the unity between Sun and Moon is Tablet 7, whereas the earlier scripture which focuses on the Sun's absence leaves them vulnerable to the dark, is Tablet 16. This indicates that there is a transition from the union between Sun and Moon and the Sun's opposition toward the Moon. However, the lore switches places of these tablets to create the notion that "Sun and Moon are supposed to be together", avoiding the real focus of the Solari scripture which is "Why did they split".
What the most interesting part of the story, besides leona x diana is the fact that for a religion as strict and as zealous as solari, they would still keep diana aroubd without really punished her that hard.
Making a teen stand in the sun on a mountain for 3 days until her skin is burned (and without water) is pretty rough. And that's just for her asking questions. Just imagine what kind of punishments they give people for real "transgressions".

A wholesome and cute love story on authentic lovers will always trump a seemingly random event about an annoying guy wanting to 'ruin' everything. Playing with the strings of the heart will stay with you longer than an event that has been on pause for a while now. However, with the new demacian trailer things are going back into motion.

They want to finish the ruination first, i agree, that's the story that is going on right now and it deserves to be concluded (and concluded WELL) but i do hope they realize what this story really means.
This isn't Garen falling in love with Katarina, their love forbidden by two rival empires, this isn't even the lovesstory of the lunari girl with the solary guy we got for LoR, this is TWO ASPECTS of TWO RIVAL RELIGIONS having feeling for each other. I don't need to explain how big of a deal this is and in how many ways this can go incredibly wrong if implemented poorly (it has the potential of ruining the entirety of the world building they did so far).
Again, maybe it's too early to judge but they just so happen to release this thing in June, during the year of the ruination (which means it has NOTHING to do with the current story arc) and was possibly done to score brownie points on twitter. So yeah, while i hope they will do something with this, i'm 80% sure this will be the "pandering month special" that will be brought up every year in June so that they can pretend to care for the alphabet community.

So noone should expect this pair to be the main hightlight of the story, or any romantic pair for this matter. The lore currently lean more on the epic side of world ending threat and the like
What i can see is that they will bring up some romantic pair from time to time if it ever fit with the grand story they are trying to do. For example, right now with the current ruination event, the romantic pair of viego and isolde is a big part of it. What i can see they do with this pair would be most likely when they get to targon lore as a center

Goddamn this was so well written! The diary notes were just so awesome to read and you could see how the letters between Diana and Leona became more casual as time went by. And with this story it didn't feel like they changed the characters' stories for the sake of changing, the writer did a great job!
Honestly at first I was a bit burned out, I expected more than teenage romantic drama and thought it was a bit generic and cringy at first but... yeah it convinced me the more it went on, I think it fits nice and it's certainly better than what we had before so I'm up for it. I do hope other champions get the same attention to rewrite in their histories.

Something interesting to note, the final scripture which speaks of the unity between Sun and Moon is Tablet 7, whereas the earlier scripture which focuses on the Sun's absence leaves them vulnerable to the dark, is Tablet 16.

However, the lore switches places of these tablets to create the notion that "Sun and Moon are supposed to be together", avoiding the real focus of the Solari scripture which is "Why did they split".

What the most interesting part of the story, besides leona x diana is the fact that for a religion as strict and as zealous as solari, they would still keep diana aroubd without really punished her that hard.
Making a teen stand in the sun on a mountain for 3 days until her skin is burned (and without water) is pretty rough. And that's just for her asking questions.
Just imagine what kind of punishments they give people for real "transgressions".

I cant get over how a fluffy, adorable story that canonized Diana x Leona has made more noise than ANYTHING Ruination related. Im sorry Riot, but yall really dropped the ball on building hype for that.
A wholesome and cute love story on authentic lovers will always trump a seemingly random event about an annoying guy wanting to 'ruin' everything. Playing with the strings of the heart will stay with you longer than an event that has been on pause for a while now. However, with the new demacian trailer things are going back into motion.
