  • Why is our existence limited and how does that relate to rebirth? The most dangerous spiritual book in the world explains the secret knowledge to transcending reincarnation. In this episode of The Sacred Word, I will explain an important verse from the Avadhuta Gita, a text one is ready to assimilate after enlightenment. The Avadhuta Gita is for those who want to absorb themselves in the presence of the Ultimate Reality after awakening.

This is like a mechanic saying you can fix your engine but he doesn’t have any tools or knowledge of how an engine works.
His major problem is thinking that death to birth is where the transformation happens when in actually it’s between growth and decline.
The reason you comeback is because you haven’t lived the one law of heaven.

unfortunately, it doesn't work that way.
non-rebirth isn't a form of escape, it's what you get when there's nothing to escape from.
if you're hurting, you have to deal with the hurt, first.
until you rid yourself of likes and dislikes (such as feeling of hurt), the way won't be clear to transcend samsara.
you can do it; the fact that you watched this video is a good sign.

Thanks for this darshan Jason. I recently came across this term 'Vairagya/Vairagin," and I am very excited about this path and its texts. I had dome some training with Sri Vidya Kaula Tantra school that takes Dattatreya as Adiyogi, so I am open to any ideas and practice/sadhanas coming from him. I can only get close to being pure awareness if I want nothing. There is nothing that I should want because I am already and always complete and whole. I will let go of everything and just see what my Karma draws me to. Once I truly want nothing, I think the rest of the way is just a little follow-up. Already, a lot of the emotional charge of daily life activity/taking care of the body is falling away- this gives me a lot of space and freedom through non-reactivity to whatever situation I am in. It really feels like rapid progress down the right road.

My advice is, don't obsess mixing the traditions and parenting. Just love the damn child like a normal human does and let yourselves be natural. 'High spiritual theory' mixed with parenting (insufficient attachment & emotional validation) creates long-term mental illness, I've seen this. But I trust you can cultivate a conscious mind and a correct world view for your little one naturally, as it goes :)

The Egyptian 'Coming Forth by Day' is one of the most valuable collection of scriptures regarding the crisis of the afterlife I have ever encountered. The Tibetan Bardo Thodel is also wonderful and the message is the same.
I was hoping that you would get into the most important challenge of all to transcendance and the one weight that has the most inexorable hold, even more so than attachment and desire, and that is FEAR. It is the sheer terror of self-oblivion that instantly stops one from release and hurls one back into the cycles of birth/death, pairs of opposites etc. This is a fundamental aspect of spiritual teaching and preparation for what lay beyond. Although it is linked to desire and attachment to form, it is upon that threshold of annihilation that the essence of the self is determined, and very few are capable of withstanding the 'Clearlight' in tbe Tibetan descriptions, nor the mortal terror instilled by the Divas or the Neo, the guardians, the gatekeepers who guard each door of passage as one traverses the concentric realms. Also the doctrine of the 'second death' from the Egyptian texts is a compelling source and although does not suggest rebirth in the physical realm but another 'less savory' kind of annihilation of being devoured by crocodiles and cast into a lake of fire. The spiritual unification is by contrast, the real 'rebirth' into a new supernal state of identifying with Osa and consequently rising into new consciousness with the sun at dawn as Afu Ra. The traveller can then abide in tbe 'Field of Reeds' or heavenly Kingdom expressed as the starry realm above, the Abode of the Blessed.

Thanks for the clear explanations. Reminders, for me. Although, the book misses out on so much more. We can't escape reincarnation, be it here, or elsewhere!! Unless we wish our soul to fade into thin air, to never exist again, anywhere. A soul, otherwise always incarnates somewhere in the cosmos! That's just how it is. One can also choose to stay on one's 'home' planet, for a longer time or even forever, the place and 'time' varies from one soul to another. These details have not ever really been written about, nor dealt with. But, that is the way it functions. I could go into details, and the whys and the hows, but too long here.

That is because Buddhism only talks about the Spiritual and most of us are not willing to do the extreme and that is why Hinduism, there are solutions for everyday life also. Everything is in much detail and even the Philosophy of the materialistic people is included and that is why Hinduism is all encompassing and shows many different paths to reach Nirvana. Though the ultimate pleasure lies in giving up our attachment to this form and in that point Buddhism is also a very good source of learning, so it is entirely upto you to follow your path.

Reincarnation and the law of karma are closely intertwined. According to the law of karma whatever action you do creates a ripple that eventually comes back to you. When one is reborn, one reaps of the fruit of actions of previous incarnations. But we are not here to Reincarnate eternally or to pay for our deeds. We are here for a lofty purpose, learn lessons of life, and work towards God realization.

The ego created by the mind is non-existent. Consciousness manifests in numerous forms including in the human form. The self that powers the consciousness is universal. In the human being, the consciousness creates an illusion of separation which fails to recognise this unity. But there is a witness, the self which is in a state above consciousness. Those who have recognised this therefore know they are eternal and therefore in reality no separate identity or birth or death. When dreaming a person is immersed in it yet witnessing the dream also. Is the dream identity true? Clearly not, it lasts until one wakes up and reality is seen. The waking state is no different. In the sleeping state the person exists but not aware of the existence but only after waking up we are able to recollect we slept. There is also no identity or ego in sleep but there was the witness, ever present. Sri Ramana Maharishi has beautifully explained this in his teachings.

This is the Ultimate knowledge and the goal of a Soul, which is to return to the Brahman, Aatma is not different from Paramatma, the Advaita and returning back to Paramatma. These are the ultimate teachings of this land but in thousands of years we have only just gotten to getting people to do Yoga and Meditation only just now.

Are you ready? Atonement is not for the faint of heart. Be prepared when you are called upon. My heart and soul is ready to answer and rectify my sins, are you? Blessings to all, done with my diatribe, trying to be gentle but the false prophets of the media, government and other external forces are deliberately creating a riff between good hearted loving individuals. Another thought provoking video Jason.
Yes the Tibetan book of the dead talks about there being no beginning and no end to existence.... it reminds me of the lyrics to the Troggs song 'love is all around'.
I had a clinical 'NDE' 20 years ago and that lead to spiritual gifts being given to me... like channeled writing and this eventually led to composing, including a song about Eastern philosophy called 'sa ta na ma'.... from an Eastern viewpoint the 'gifts' could be seen as me being more of a conduit for the Akashic records... which have begun to wane significantly.
I'd be curious to know your thoughts on the 8 immortals for example, as I've studied officially and unofficially about them and it's very interesting. I'm aware there are certain 'elixirs of life' that can extend life... though like you say - ultimately immortality is in the spiritual sense.... though there are examples of it in form too, like the immortal jellyfish 🪼 for example. Also some trees 🌳 live hundreds of years. Though it doesn't mean they'll live forever.
    All the best from 🇬🇧

The burden of escaping reincarnation is somehow being put on our shoulders when it is not our doing or fault that we are here. It could be that there is a malfunction that has gone uncorrected that is producing souls that end up here to suffer but hopefully our incarnation is only a one time affair which will not be repeated.

You are marvelous and I have loved the AVADHUTA GITA for a long time! However, the preference for formless over form seems to me quite dualistic. "Form is emptiness and emptiness is form." I'm not sure you see it this way, but to me, true Oneness or Advaita includes and embraces all duality, diversity and multiplicity within its Great Unity. Nothing is rejected. An attempt to "avoid reincarnation" and make this your last life also seems to me a bit of a rejection of the marvel of simply existing. This suggests that I do not doubt my own existence, which is true, though who or what "I AM" remains mysterious. The "self" is illusory in a genuine sense, but as such, when this is known, it becomes precious as a fleeting, temporary identification. Both ocean and wave are valuable, as I see it. I tend to view myself as a living part of a Living Universe, so perhaps I'm more of a "scientific animist" than aligned with any formal religious tradition. But please don't misunderstand. I love what you say! - Bruce P. Grether

It's not a criticism, it's more like a question. Why do we need to return to Brahman?
By what you say we are all drops of this imense ocean that splited itself into the an ilusionary world of shapes and forms where each of its parts does not know its origin.
Why it happened in first place?
Should we really trying to stop existing as drops when the ocean did it?
What is the guarantee that once we stop existing as Jiva, the Brahman will become one again and we will not born again? Brahman have by what we know splited itself, at least once before. Wound't it happen again and again in a eternal cycle of rebirth of the own illusional reality of maya?
Thanks for the channel and any answer, I'm just trying to understand the why for all of that.

Interesting how some of this pervades the "safest" spiritual book, the Bhagavad Gita. This verse reminds me so much of Chapter 2, Verse 16 - of course, you do have to make the leap of logic that "real" refers to "formless" and "unreal" to that with form. Not a difficult stretch at all.

The truth of it resonates at such a deep level. It's a life committment of mine and has been for some time now. However, i feel no desire to become enlightened or even stop reincarnating. I love the dance of physical form and the experience of individuality i want to incarnate into other worlds in other frequencies etc etc. Ofcourse that's the ego speaking but my attachment to form is pretty evident :p i also feel that my being here on the planet right now is a choice rather than a requirment. Hi dear. If you think of yourself as a person, soul, or similar entity, then your attachment to (some aspect of) life is quite natural (perhaps it would not be so if the experience were painful). The "I" of everything is really just consciousness. The real "you" is just consciousness. When this consciousness stops allowing your mind/soul to see itself as the only awareness, then the vision will change on its own. there is no need to force "you" to accept anything. when the movie is over, you will get up and leave the theater. and you will gladly forget it. 🙃😊

Although I find these concepts valuable because they change one's perception of life, I dont understand why should we have the transcending of reincarnation as a goal? the only reason I can imagine is because someone has the inner intuition that drives him/her to do all this things one must do to overcome rebirth and as a byproduct of those experiences that person doesnt come again to this life, but I dont see the point of actively seeking this or trying to accelerate the process.

Thank you for this video. My whole life i have been fascinated by eastern religions, but this idea that life should all be about escaping the cycle of reincarnations seems more and more negative for me, and rather ...escapist. I see a lot of commentary's on this video in the trend of "I have seen/done/experienced everything in life, and I am ready to depart now" (someone even said "I don't give a thing about life. I love my consciousness.") which seem utterly selfish to me, paradoxically. At least consider the Mahayana concept of the Bodhisattva, who has the power to transcend this earthly realm but "stays behind" in order to be of service to all sentient beings.
