    Great work in doing a very in-depth explanation. But this is way more work than necessary. From my experience, it's best to start with the lightest color and work to the darkest for a real deep camo look. I guess I should consider doing a video of how I camo paint stuff. It's been a while, but looks the most legit.

    • @SendItJonBoats
      @SendItJonBoats  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wasn't going for a real deep camo look, I was going for something close to Mossy Oak Bottomland. You can put the colors on in whatever order you want so long as it looks the way you want it too... and this looks exactly how I wanted it to look.

    What size compressor are you using to do the paint job with? Love your work and the thought you put into every video that you put out for us guys and followers. I kinda like the paint job when it was just the base color black and the bark yellow with the yellow pirate flags. It really stood out to me. Thanks brother for all the time you spend away from your family for this group of people. You should have put the send it JonBoat logo on the boat somewhere. That’s your call sign of excellence.

      Thanks BigBoyBob, I really appreciate that... which is exactly why I make these videos. I enjoy showing people what I do for a living, and I also enjoy makin videos that are entertaining to watch. I actually did like it too when I had the stencils over the black base paint, it looked cool. My shop has a 7.5hp 80 gallon compressor that I use for the paint booth and sand blasting, I have another compressor to run other air tools, and the activator sprayguns I use for dipping. Its a whole system with refrigerated air dryer, cooling loops, and 5 stage filtration. I am probably going to put my logo on the inside of the boat before I finish it and probably on the trailer as well.

      That sounds like it should work just fine.. The only thing I would be concerned about is that doing this style paint, you would be applying the alchohol to a paint that hasn't had a clear coat applied yet. Y'all don't think this would affect the paint?
      I just got all of my stickers made and I am about to do my boat, so I would love an easier way to remove the 128,942,103 stickers that will be on my boat.

    You pointed out you use a designated gun for clear coat, why?
    Also does it matter if you do the gator glide before the paint?

    • @SendItJonBoats
      @SendItJonBoats  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you use the same gun for paint that you do clear you run the risk of colored paint going into your clear coat and messing up the clear. Most people don't clean their spray guns good enough between uses and having paint flakes in your clear will contaminate it. If you can clean really well inbetween uses you can get away with using one gun... but I di this for a living so I do not take any chances.
      You can do the gator glide before or after, it does not matter.
