@@duckydammet2646 Should have used ITG or Pipercross filter like all the Weber carbed cars did in rally, you get a way larger intake and filtered area so more air will make it into the engine than with a single throttle body anyway, that's the point of ITB's and carbs.
Open stacks is mostly a novelty idea, something you only do in clean air or during a race.

But yes I agree, America focuses more on power and Japan focuses on handling but if you look at cars like the Camaro ZL1 and the Mustang Boss 302 (2012) you'll see more than just power on both. Also check out the Viper ACR, that beat European cars and Japanese cars on the Nurburgring.

in this case we are talking about touge, mountain pass. its not about the power anymore but the power to weight ratio of the car itself. just like what tsuchiya in the full version of this video said about balance. i recognise american cars have huge power but on the downhill, its a different story alrdy since breaking point is different. even in this vid, the underpowered 86 beat the BNR34 which is enough to show that on mountain passes, power doesnt much determine the outcome

@XxSuzaku That's Keiichi Tsuchiya, the man who made the AE86 famous. I think he's the basis for Bunta Fujiwara.

@GranTurismo360 Yes, except wouldn't you be able to put the power down earlier if you weren't drifting because the rear wheels would have traction? I mean you might have slightly higher corner entry speeds if you drift, but I think it's quicker to not drift, in general anyway. If drifting were quicker I think F1 drivers would be doing it during qualifying.

@XxSuzaku and yes he was a street racer - but, as I wrote you before, he was either alone, or the togué was closed. please don't make me write any more stuff about Tsuchiya-san. I hope you'll understand my train of thoughts.
    cheers
