Vintage vice restoring is greatest thing to do! Relaxing and logical to watch! Iam going vice hunting in scrapyard or flea market!! Bye bye shipmate!!!
Damn nice work mate. Love the colour with the polished steel. Red always sets off shiny steel beautifully. I’ve been restoring for years and haunted YT for longer; so I’m surprised I never came across your channel before. Glad I did today and subscribed so I can watch more of your magic. 👍🇦🇺
@@OvensGarage Feel free to paint any colour you feel right, glad you got one before the Irwin company took over and still had the nerve to call them Record. Keep up the good work, greetings from UK.
There’s no real “should be” about it. Sure they come in Roundel Blue from the factory and that’s my choice. In this case, red looks good but whatever, it’s up to the owner and their personal decision.
Restoration was great up until the paint job!

I am now restoring a No. 4 and your video was extremely helpful. I was going to repaint in blue but definitely going with the red.
Glad to see other people not caring that it isn't blue! haha
I want to do my Record no.4 vice same like this, colour is insane 😉👍
Great job, will the polished surfaces rust again ?
Beautiful restoration. Collecting one of these tomorrow hopefully turn out like yours.
Good luck!
Nice & clean, good use of TH-cam bookmark thingamagiggers...never seen that before
Thanks!
Very nice painstaking vice resto but I have to ask why paint a Record vice red, it should be Roundel blue. No criticism intended.
Because it's my vise and my shop, I make the rules :)
