  • Ferris Provincial Park Review! Ontario Park Campground Review
Ferris Provincial Park is located in Campbellford, Ontario, about an hour and a half east of Toronto.
The park has a small store in the gatehouse where you check in.
This was our first time staying at Ferris and we were excited to be checking out a new Provincial Park!
The park offers camping and a day use area. There are 163 campsites (40 of which are electric) located in 2 different campgrounds, Valleyview and Bedrock. There are lots of different styles and sizes of campsites, so make sure you check out the information and photos on the Ontario Parks website before booking.
There are 3 comfort stations with flush toilets throughout the campground. The comfort station in Valleyview campground also has showers. There are also vault toilets located throughout the park.
Ferris has 10km of trials through the forest and along the river. The Trans Canada Trail is part of the system that goes through the park. There are vault toilets and a picnic shelter near the trailhead parking lot.
The Ranney Gorge suspension bridge is 300 feet long and takes you across the gorge 30 feet above the Trent River. The bridge can be accessed from inside the park or from a parking lot on the other side in Campbellford.
There is no swimming at Ferris Provincial park, but there is a boat launch where you access the Trent River, downstream from the dam and waterfalls.
Near the boat launch there is a playground with swings. Throughout the park you will see stone walls that were built in the 1800s and have been restored in recent years.
The town of Campbellford is located right outside Ferris Provincial Park. There are a variety of shops, some places to swim and local attractions to check out.
This is one of the smaller provincial parks and it’s good if you’re looking for some quiet time in nature with nice views and a town nearby!
