    What a well explained and detailed video. Thank you.
    I have one of these that I got for my disabled wife 10 years ago, but she couldn't get used to using a trackpad or a mouse. I ended iup buying her an iPad Pro instead.
    The Asus Eee 1005HA has lived in a case ever since. It is like new but needs a new CMOS battery.

    Your video is very well done, clear, informative and camera work wonderful. Great to see a video when the presenter uses both hands. I thought so highly of this video that I actually did something that I rarely do, I subscribed. Many thanks, from the UK!

    My cmos battery was underneath the circuit board, very tricky to remove. So, i unplugged dead battery, left it where it was.. tucked away the plug end.. plugged in rhe new onr and adhered it into the cavity that is right there.. working great so far! Thanks again!

    Great tutorial for change CMOS and I just changed to SSD. I couldn´t find retaining clips inside the keyboard then I found them as metal mini paws under the baterry behind. Little change in my 1001HA :D

    Mine is a 1005HA also but my battery was completely different. Mine was underneath the motherboard with a long wire going to the other side from the connector. It was a CR2032, not the rechargeable little one like in this video. However, this video was very helpful in opening the case.

    Excellent video. Very well done. Thanks! I like how it was done in real time so I didn't have to pause it a lot while I was following along with my install.

    Good work.
    Designers should make such replacement easy and provide an easier access to CMOS battery. Although it is one in a 5 year kind of work, but why one needs to take apart a machine so much to do such a fix.

    • @zfikrizainal9910
      @zfikrizainal9910 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the designer must be dumb to place the battery at that place...

    Mr. J P, you are a wonderful man, I learned from your video. I still have a question, my eee pc stops at start screen and a note says press f2 to enter setup or tab to ....... But the problem is that the pc doesn't respond when you press any key. Is this a battery issue or something else?

    Nice job! It wasn't clear why you had to remove the screws on the bottom, but I guess I'll find out when my new little battery arrives from eBay.

    my asus has not been used for a long time. After switching on, only the LEDs are lit and the disk operation is audible. The monitor does not fire, it only blinks white when extinguishing with the POWER holding down. Could this be a problem with completely discharging the BIOS battery? Should BIOS and WINDOWS be re-loaded after replacing the batteries? I will add that the comp itself starts right after switching on the power supply - it starts - I mean diode lighting and disk operation - the monitor does not work.

      Just remove the ram and gently cleanses the golden connectors on the edge with a eraser or spirit liquid (mind don't spill to much spirit just clean with a soft cloth) and make sure no parts of the erasor are left behind on the connectors. And reinsert the rom back its because of carbon accumulated on the rom. If that doesn't solve the problem then your rom is dead. This happened with me I did what I explained and it worked for me. You try it and let me know.

    This computer has never crashed on me I basically only use it as a storage device now because I don't want to surf the Internet because Windows is no longer supported since 2014 and I have no virus software updated another question is why will it not connect to Wi-Fi?

    If I'd do it I'd manage the battery cables tight with battery, the way you tucked battery cable near the antenna of the lose top board you'll affect it's range negatively.

    what size the screw driver gotta be in order to take out the battery??

    • @MrJP-oy7lb
      @MrJP-oy7lb  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      To take out the screws? just use a Phillips #1 size. Any jeweler's set would work as well. Once you get case open and are able to access the battery, you just need your fingernail to remove the battery itself from the board.

    What happens when cmos battery turns flat?

    • @mo_418
      @mo_418 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lose date and some settings in the BIOS. You need to configure bios at each boot because it won’t let you (warning message to get into bios before booting the OS)

    Much too complicated! Viel zu kompliziert! Das Ganze geht minimal invasiv! Man entfernt nur eine der vier rückseitigen Gehäuseschrauben (die, wo die Fn-Taste sitzt) , lockert die 3 übrigen Gehäuseschrauben und die Schraube unter der RAM-Klappe. Mehr nicht! Man spreizt mit allen Fingernägeln und/oder einem Messer die untere linke Ecke auf ( die, wo die Fn-Taste sitzt ), klemmt ein fingerdickes, aber keilförmig geschnittenes Stück Korken dazwischen und kann die Batterie durch diesen offenen Eck-Spalt sehen und mühelos wechseln. Eine Stirnlampe ist dabei nützlich.

    Easier if we just adjust the time and date on windows then opening the laptop to change a cmos battery but thx anyways

  • @Osa-p3b
    @Osa-p3b 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Exactly, unscrew one bolt near the left front leg and open the case. Remove the battery, replace it with a working one and EVERYTHING !!!
    Точно ,отвернуть один болт возле левой передней ножкой и раскрыть корпус .Вытащить аккумулятор, заменить на рабочий и ВСЁ!!!
