  • In this video, I'll be listening to another song by The Warning! It's been a little while since I've listened to a song by them, and I knew I had to listen to another one by them, so I landed on another song where Pau takes on the lead vocals, but ends up on the keyboard instead of the drums! If you haven't heard this song by them yet, you're missing out!
    If you enjoy the video, please don't forget to like and subscribe!

    A deeply meaningful song about the horrors of addiction written by a 13-year-old Pau. And performed with such feeling by a then 15-year-old Pau. She is truly amazing. This performance from the Dakota was in January 2018 and may be the best place to hear all of their early work on XXI Century Blood.

    This song has made so many grown men cry... we have memories and Pau has made them into music. I have buried many friends that were felled by addiction to alcohol and other drugs, most of us have those episodes in our life, of people who decided to go, and hearing this we have broken down... This is an effing masterpiece, no matter who and when created it. I have moved from liking The Warning to admiring them with mounting amazement, because the band has so many layers, you are enticed by their sound at first, but when you drill down into their art, you find so much depth, genius, musicianship, control and magnificient songwriting... I interviewed them a few months back and was absolutely blown over as people and as artists. They are rock today.

    It's incredible how Pau was able to write that song when he was only 13 years old, and the way he sings... Wow

    Great Song, great reaction, this is a song about darkness, hits hard. I know you want to hear the other tow sing (ale is not lead singer) but when you feel for it, check our Show Me The Light from the same concert....Pau singing and on the piano so it goes in the same theme but the message is about love. Dany has a beautiful short guitar solo there as well

    Ah yes, the Dakota Bar, "Shattered Heart" is my favorite from here, but every song they performed is awesome. I feel there was very little light on Pau, other than that this was amazing. I love her vocals and piano playing, you can just feel the emotion in it. 🥰

  • @RandyTWA
    @RandyTWA 2 ปีที่แล้ว +23

    Pau has a bit of a hitch or delay in her voice that makes it so non typical…and I love it!
    BTW Wally, all three are classically trained on piano.

    BASICALLY THE SONG IS ABOUT AN ADDICT WHO SURRENDERS TO HIS VICE, THE INCREDIBLE THING IS THAT PAULINA WROTE THIS SONG WHEN SHE WAS A 13 YEAR OLD GIRL, MANY HUMAN BEINGS WHO HAVE SUFFERED DIRECTLY AN ADDICTION OR THAT OF A LOVED ONE BREAK WHEN THEY HEAR IT, AND OBVIOUSLY PAU HAS NOT SUFFERED PERSONALLY BUT FROM WHAT SHE SEES AND READS IN SOCIETY CAME HER INSPIRATION TO CREATE BLACK HOLES. SINCERELY PAULINA LIKE HER 2 SISTERS ARE GREAT, SHE COMPOSES, PLAYS PIANO AND DRUMS, SINGS, IS THE ONE IN CHARGE OF CONTROLLING THE SCREEN IN HER PRESENTATIONS, HAS AN INCREDIBLE CHARIS AND INTERPRETATIVE STRENGTH, IN SHORT POW IS POW!

    So The Warning have released close to 40 songs on two albums, two EP's and a single and have yet to write a single clunker or filler song. I would suggest as your next song Survive from their TedX Talk from 2017: The Warning - Survive at TEDx - th-cam.com/video/eWg1Wwrm99o/w-d-xo.html (I would include Dany's epic little speech at the beginning too)

    If you want to see Pau talk fast, watch some interviews, especially when she gets going in Spanish. I do wonder if the fact that English is their second language contributes to their crisp intelligible vocals. A lot of singers will mush syllables together while doing vocal gymnastics with the sound. The result is not being able to clearly hear the lyrics, which may not be much of a loss depending on the song. But The Warning write meaningful lyrics that demand to be heard. There is another piano ballad from this concert that you should check out:

      I've noticed too that they pronounce English words clearly and mostly correctly. They actually open their mouths and properly form the words. Here in Oklahoma, we mostly just kinda mumble.

    Thanks Wally for another great reaction. A beautiful song about a not so beautiful subject but The Warning will sing all about topics beyond their young years. So amazing.
    A song full of chills to the spine. Pau's belting vocals, Dany's powerful harmonies and Ale's bass being the anchor point as there was no drums.
    As you said Wally, the 4 songs you listened to all have rock foundations but The Warning are so versatile in their song writing they can pull off any type of rock.
    Looking forward to your next one Wally hopefully before 2 weeks😁🤘

    It's kind of funny - The girls have commented that, as the main song-writer, Pau makes her first pass of a new song idea on the piano, then sits down with her sisters and "pitches" her idea to them on it. And one of the first orders of business is " _How To Stop Pau From Making This Be A Ballad_ ". 🙂
    With this song, it was clearly important to them that it remain so. I've heard it is kind of about a relative of theirs, which if that is truly the case is probably why it's so clearly heart-felt.

  • @ronhall5395
    @ronhall5395 ปีที่แล้ว

    She has a big smile at the start of this song because the audience was singing with her. This is one of her songs she wrote for her to perform. She was very proud. She killed it.

    Pau voice can give someone the impression that she's always tired. Her voice has a break and a rasp that can give the impression of being tired or hoarse. It's not. Her speaking voice has it even when she's obviously not tired.

    This songs always gets people very emotional at 13 Pau wrote this song it’s about addiction extremely heart felt so you know all three sisters are classically trained on piano at a very young age now you get your mind blown a must see is Ale ( very rare ocasión ) doing Reds Hands at Mercury Lounge NYC Ale has a mid range voice with perfect pitch she did this because Dany was not feeling well it’s called Sister Sibling do you research and react to Ale doing lead vocals yes all three can lead sing Ale is a amazing harmony’s is legendary You have been Warned

    Pau singing this at Whiskey a Go Go is the best imo. The focus is more on Pau with Dany's backing vocals. They are all well educated, and well spoken. They tend to correct each other if they use a word or phrase incorrectly. Down to earth and very humble young women.

    If you want a couple of awesome Japanese bands to react to, Otoboke Beaver is an all-girl punk band. Their most popular song is "Don't Light My Fire". Another is Melt-Banana, a noise rock band (now a duo). A good first reaction song of theirs is "Shield For Your Eyes, A Beast In The Well On Your Hand".
