It’s great experiencing someone fall hard for Nemophila! I’ve been an extreme metal head since the late 80s and Nemophila and Hanabie are special to me!💪🏻🤘🏻
Nemophila have 5 members all equally at the very top in every aspect and there having a tonne of fun with it .If there not putting out killer songs like this there having fun doing a cover because they can ,there that good nothing is off the table .Lots more to do off the album Revive its the best new album out .

Great reaction! You need to watch one of their live performance videos. Like Band-Maid and Lovebites, they are very impressive live. I strongly suggest watching their song Oiran at the 2021 Naon no Yaon festival. The only downside is that they were not performing to an actual crowd because of covid. I believe the festival was live streamed. The woman that introduces Nemophila is Keiko Terada of the band Show-Ya which formed in 1981 and is still going strong (although they did have a long break). She started the Naon no Yaon festival in 1987 to help female rock musicians in Japan. She is an amazing woman. Saki of Nemophila seems to be following in her footsteps in supporting young female musicians.

And if you like female singers with a great sream and singing voice, try Jinjer from the Ukrain, Tatiana has an amazing voice ! JINJER - Perennial (Live at Wacken Open Air 2019) is a great song to start with.
Agreed Jinjer’s singer is in the top tier of metal singers, totally amazing.
NEMOPHILA is really taking off now. Agree, MAYU's whistle-tone fry is melodic and fits perfect with this band's sound...she is the best of them all IMO. 🌸✨🌠

@@tackle47 Totally agree. The convergence of talent in this band is mind blowing. They're Aces...all of them. MAYU has become my favorite rock singer out there and her metalcore/melodic deathcore style scream and the way can switch it on and off is the very best IMO. Her rock rasp, cleans, and her hawai (cute) vocals are phenomenal too. MAYU is the perfect vocalist for this band.
5-string bass and 7-string guitars. Talent probably got them started but what you hear and see here is purely SKILL on every single one of them :)

Okay - Nemophila - one of my current top-5 bands. Check. Mayu - the lead singer. Potentially the most charismatic lead singer from a Japanese metal band that I've seen.
Band-Maid - Check. Top 5? Yes. Misa - the bassist everyone loves to love. With the Jim Beam bottle on top of her Orange Amp, playing barefoot in her maid assassin outfit, slapping, picking and finger-style (love how she hides the pick in her index finger when she goes between picking and slapping) - she shames almost all other bassists with her complete bad-assery (if that's a word).
Lovebites - Double-Check. Top 5? Oh yes - Miyako (she's the guitarist on the right side of your screen) is oozing with talent - classical pianist that "picked up" the guitar at 18. Dueling solos with Midori (the exceedingly technical guitarist on the left) at warp speed? Give me more of that please!
What's missing? Hmmm.... okay, screamer before singer. Best band? Let's go to Ukraine. Jinjer - female vocalist (Tatiana) - growler (deep growls, medium growls, high-pitched screams) and amazing clean vocalist (think Lady Gaga). Amazing band - currently the best up and coming metal band in the world. Virtuosity in all 4 of them - and they do it without solos (well, actually, if you listen to any single one instrument, it's really a solo piece, it's just that they never try to outshine one another). Do it - you will thank me.
Also, missing from the top 5 list is Spiritbox (maybe another time and another place, but they are the husband-wife team of the remains of the second version of iwrestledabearonce - after Courtney Laplante replaced Krysta Cameron on lead vocals).
But, definitely do Jinjer - best live band I've seen (and I'm talking 45 years of live metal concerts). Musicianship and vocals are stellar. The only one with classical training is their drummer, and he's trained on piano. If you check it out and love it, I will subscribe just so you can go down that rabbit hole.
TL;DR - check out Jinjer. Go with their live stuff. Everyone says "listen to Pisces" - yes it's great - and it's "shocking" when Tatiana changes between clean vocals and growling, but I'm an old timer, and there's a lot of female vocalists that can both scream and sing. But Tatiana's the best. Listen to Jinjer. I guarantee you will thank me.
