After letting the spring unwind when I loosened the support bracket, I had to re-tension it and used your video for quick how to guide. Used a couple of large nails, with points cut off, for tension bars. thanks for the video.
Thanks for making these videos, helped me out a lot when our garage door jammed this weekend. Looks like I need some new cables so I'll be visiting your website. Was able to apply what you showed to a Hormann door, found they are a bit different though, easier in fact using grub screws to lock the cable drums and spring.
Hi Richard. Good video, thanks. I’m replacing my up/over for timber swing doors. TH-cam advice is to just cut the cables. Have you ever done that, if so, what can you expect and how do you stay safe?
When fitting new rollers you don’t show how to move them in and out of the brackets on the door? On my door there is not enough space (even with the guide rail removed) to remove the old roller or insert the new one. Is it safe to open the door slightly in this state so that there is enough room to swap the rollers over........it looks like the only way possible?
Hi there. If when the cones and cables are fitted and i have slightly less tension in the rh cable. Will this method correct that problem and give even tension in the cables?
Useful - better than nothing and some good tips, but a shame he doesn't actually DO what he's talking about. It makes it look simpler than it is and doesn't show the issues that can come up. It might make the video 5 - 10 minutes instead of 3-4, but I think it would make it much better.
There are 2 x grub screws to release 1 at back of bar just release slightly so it doesn’t score/ cut into bar , I always mark / pencil on steel (1) and (2) around the screw area as I then wind upwards the tension bar and tighten up one screw only as you won’t be able to do both . Also if you can’t get lock pin in , eg : bar not in right position, just put a positive screw driver in hole on right hand side, push upwards and clamp mole grips to screwdriver and metal clamp above. You will find you will have to try a few times ( winding up, tensioning ) before you get it just right , as with most things , trial and error !!!
Hi, Is the process the same with a spring with no tension in it at all? I'm assuming it is... Also, which way do you turn to wind up the tension? Should I be putting in the tension bars and then pushing the bars upward? (If that makes sense?). I'm using your cable and cones replacement kit. Thanks.
The split pins go into the male flange so long as you've tension the conservative left wing but if not you should attend the Taliban key on bar end and the bagram air base nut is no longer available so after 3 months and alot of Vis TS to AE call to his bloke since he's the only human who can fix Henderson and most other garage door
You clearly know your stuff, a few close ups would be really useful. I’ll check your website for new roller spindles, thanks 😊
Awesome video thanks. Watched both vids and able to change the cables and fix my door. Superstar

Hi good vid, but what is a cup pin ?
Thank you,well explained
Thanks 👍🏿
I think you say not to grease the cables. Is that right. Do you use WD40, instead. thank you.
Hello
Use a light oil, WD40 or even 3 in one..grease just clogs everything up and stops the roller wheels from turning
Nice one - helped me out. Cheers.
