I think Ned's burger looked waaayyyy better. All the cheese action and it was actually cooked all the way through. I know the chef made his rare on purpose, but I just can't eat undercooked burger.

The only veggie burger I have not despised the flavour and texture of was from the Works, and as someone who used to love a good burger, it's so sad. I've tried making them as well, but they still don't have that same great flavour and texture that I want. If a veggie burger is that good, I would hands down choose it, because honestly? Portobello mushroom patty's aren't as great as people hype them up to be. Even if you love mushrooms, and I do, they don't pair the best with a bun.

always home cooking! you wouldn't believe the amount of additives put even in a store bought burger, let alone a wholesale. get the beef mince and put it together yourself, the tasties and healtiest way to do it :)
guys I don't know what they feed you in the US but here even the mince from a supermarket is just fresh mince without any stabilizer/preservative, and making a burger from that and an organic egg is thousands of times better than waiting for brands to fill them with breadcrumbs, gluten, flavourings and second class quality meat. it's not that hard.

That is why most recipes for burgers form Europe tend to have binders such as eggs, bread or even oatmeal. That is a meatball/loaf not a burger. So while some use the two words interchangeably they are different. Thanks foe weighting in though.

Stop complaining about the rare burger. If you have high quality beef you should treat it well and not over cook it. I get that you want a dry lump of meat but some people prefer their meat like that.
Any good chef can cook a steak or any type of meat well done and it still be tender and juicy. Just because something may be well done doesn’t necessarily make it dry,
burgers are made from ground beef, beef is sterile until exposed to the air which is why we can eat rare steaks but ground beef, all of that has been exposed to air and bacteria and is therefore contaminated and should be well cooked and not pink, otherwise it will make you ill

I'm not totally wrong, just simplified it. I'm well aware that the outside of a cut of beef is contaminated with parasites and bacteria but the meat is so dense that its unlikely the parasites or bacteria will be able to penetrate making the middle relatively safe to eat pink, provided the outside is cooked to kill the parasites.
I just don't like too much blood, and just because something is cooked thoroughly doesn't mean it's 'dry' Overcooking results in dry meat, not proper/thorough cooking.
