Thanks for posting. This is great! I picked up my RP in December and love it. I’ve been riding it hard. Long rides touring and trails. I was shocked what the dealer wanted for the 6K mile service cuz it’s really just an oil change and some basic common sense checking things are in order. There’s not much online for maintenance videos. Please post more as you work on your bike. It’s really helpful. Thanks a ton!
Thanks for the video. I ordered that hardware piece. Didn't realize that the app didn't come with it until I had it all connected. I bought it for $12 on Play Store while standing next to the bike. My nearest dealer was actually telling me if they didn't do the service, they couldn't reset the light. So this kept me from having to look at the wrench until 12,000 miles. Much appreciated.
Worked great! I hope they come up with something to change the tpms sensor pressures. I put knobbies on immediately, and they run way lower pressure than stock. I like being able to see the pressures, but the constant warnings are annoying.
Couldn’t agree more. It’s one thing to get a warning when you first start the bike… I don’t need it to go remind me every few minutes. Not sure what they were thinking.
I love this bike... I will add more service videos when those events arise. In the meantime, if you need the service manual you can go to TriTun.net for all the Triumph manuals.
@@BlueADV214 Thanks again!! Gave you your first like, hopefully you will get lots and lots of views, this is a very popular bike. I'm planning trading my Triumph Tiger 1050 sport, I'm soon to be buying the last of the Kawasaki ZZ-R 1400's ( ZX 14, still available in the US). I had planned to keep the 1050 for the Twisties and a more daily ride, but the duality of the 900 rally makes more sense, especially living in Scotland where we have such a varied selection of roads/tracks. All the best for 2021, I've a feeling it's going to be tougher than 2020?
It should come from the dealer ready to go. Turn On: Set / Set Speed: Set / Increase/Decrease Speed: +/- / Resume: Res…. Rolling throttle forward past the stop, using the brakes, and pulling in the clutch will all disengage the cruise.
Thanks. A great help as I do all my own servicing too. Do you know of a way to adjust the set point on the tyre pressure monitoring? I swapped the deadly Metzler's for Pirelli Scorpion Trail 2's before riding it out of the shop. But as I ride one up with no luggage 90% of the time I want to lower the set point as the tyre pressure warning light comes on at far too high pressure, in my opinion, and I'm riding around with it on all the time
Great question... short answer is I don’t know. I asked the dealer if they could adjust when the low fuel warning comes on and was told they can’t. If my future experience shows a way, you can bet I’ll make another video.
Can you use this to unlock some more HP and perhaps fuel economy. (For one year of ownership Im getting 38 mpg (2023 900 RP) while most everybody else getting about 50mpg. I have all the required items as you've stated, just wondering 1. can I tuneECU for better fuel economy and also, can I get the new 2024 increased HP etc?).
Sounds like it may be something to talk to the dealership about. I don't know anything about editing fuel/air maps and would refer that to a shop with a dynamometer and specialized equipment/training. And any increase in HP usually comes at the expense of MPG... just saying. In my opinion, the bike doesn't need more HP; it needs more torque on the ground and less weight overall. The weight of the bike/rider/luggage/etc. is all going to that little contact point on the rear tire and for off-road, that's a small area that the tire just spins on without more torque and tire contact (tread dependent). I would gladly take this bike with half the cc's... A Tiger 450 or 500 with a slightly smaller fuel tank would be awesome.
UPDATE: TO USE THE TUNEECU APP YOU NOW HAVE TO GO TO THE TUNEECU MESSAGE BOARD AND REGISTER AN EMAIL TuneECU.boards.net AFTER REGISTERING AN EMAIL, GO BACK AND PROCEED AS SHOWN IN THE VIDEO AND WHEN PROMPTED, LINK YOUR BIKE TO THE APP. I WILL POST AN UPDATED VIDEO ON THIS PROCESS SOON (hopefully).
Hi, The Fog light on the GT pro or Rally pro sold in the US or Canada won't turn on when on high beam. Can you in the OBD system change this, in Europe they can have high beam and fog light on. Was wondering if you saw any option in the OBDII menu of your bike to change it with the OBD link lx tool.
I have noticed that. I will have to look into that and get back to you. Someone else also asked about the tire pressure sensors, so I’ve got some homework.
Have you done a video on oil changes? I just crawled under mine and there is a round port. What is that? Do you need to insert something to drain the oil, or does it take a special tool?
The OBDLink does have an app for iPhone, which is what I use for my Jeep. However, to work on the Tiger, it must be an Android. You will have to check the TuneECU website to see what compatible options you have for your specific bike.
According to the TuneECU website, it has to be an Android phone in order to work with the Tiger 900. This is because 1)TuneECU is not on the Apple Store, 2)The OBDLink app doesn’t work with the Tiger 900.

Hi. Can the tpms values be changed with the obd link. I can't seem to find any info on this and I like to run slightly less pressure than triumph recommends.
Not that I know of. I know it’s annoying that the warnings keep coming on after I have already acknowledged it. I’m not even sure it’s something the dealer can do. If I do figure it out I’ll definitely post a video on how to do it.
I don't have any insider information on the TuneECU website or their app. So far I have not had any trouble with TuneECU, so it could just be a timing issue.
