@@kevinJ6665Actually it is a superb original. Americans have cheap copy BS called "bologna" and like that was not enough, Americans pronounce it wrongly. 🙄 That product's name was given per Italian city of Bologna, where real Mortadella comes from !! American food culture is mainly distorted European one , which came to Americas with Eu settlers.
I didn't know anything about Mortadella until recently trying at my deli; now I cut a cold slice into ribbons to go in my salad. It's delicious. My salads usually end up being: one ribboned slice of Mortadella, mixed greens, 7/8 cucumber slices, 3/4 sliced vine grape tomatoes, 3/4 sliced/pitted castelvetrano olives, caesar dressing and a little shaved pecorino romanno cheese. 🥗
My husband’s favorite!!!! Cannot wait to show him this interesting & so very informative video! Great video/blog/page! I loved watching this myself! ♥️
I'm Italian. We always had a big waxed paper package of Capicola in the refrigerator when I was a kid. It was rather dark and spicy, with large veins of fat running through the meat. The older Italians in our family loved it! ha ha I forgot all about it until I heard it mentioned in The Sopranos! I think they called it "gaba-gool". It had to be the same stuff.
@@boohere2 Yep-a classic! I think the big issue with people who don’t like it is the texture. But you kind of mitigate that if you slice it super thin.

Well you can’t compare American made food products which are made from poisonous chemicals, called fake foods. To European or middle eastern real foods. So Bologna, sausages and other cold cuts are the prime examples.
What do you think of mortadella ?
LOVE mortadella. It is not hard to find here in the states at least my state. I prefer the mortadella with pistachio then the mortadella pepper one.
I like it, in moderation of course.
I FOUND IT IN UAE AND ITS SO DELICIOUS
It’s fancy bologna

In the city of São Paulo, in Brazil, the Mortadella and grilled cheese sandwich is a local favorite.

I am already a fan of the other italian cold cuts like prosciutto and the rest of the gaba gu. I've gotta try this one too.
How are those? I wonder how are other italian cuts because here is only mortadella avaiable and i looove it
Italian Bologna and it’s wonderful!!!
Here in the UK nearly all Supermarkets sell it in the Continental cold meat chiller. 👍
same here in the states
Oscar Myer bologna is based on German Austrian Alsatian bologna, which is milder than the Italian variety.
Pure crap. Corn syrup galore.
I've had it as long as I can remember!!! 59 yrs old!
It tastes like a really good bologna with pistachios. Love it!
it’s become my favorite since trying it.
American bologna cannot hold a candle to Mortadella. There is no comparison!
Italian bologna yummy with pistachios or without. Delicious yummy
with pepe is good
YES mortadella with pistachio one of the best
Taste so much better than bologna.
I don’t even think the taste is similar. Especially a good brand.
It only looks familiar. That's it!
Obsessed with mortadella

You couldn’t be more wrong . One is Italian bologna and the other is capicola.
Recently discovered mortadella am also infortunately on quite a strict diet
I love mortadella so much that I’m watching a video about it until the store opens tomorrow so I can buy it 🥲❤
Mortadella with sweet n sour cabbage and horseradish on italian bread very good

No
It looks disgusting, but tastes good. I rarely eat it.
My favourite cold meat
The background music makes you feel like you're in a crazy house
Best deli meat hands down
It's delicious and it tastes like Angel's tears.
It tastes like bologna and mozzarella sometimes with pistachios
The most controversial cold cut. I grew up with this and absolutely love it. But a lot of people are grossed out by it.

In brazil mortadela is comun we just go to the store and we get mortadela
Bologna and luxurious should never, ever, ever, be used in the same sentence. Nor should wonder bread and luxurious be used in the same sentence.
Food & Food ,question answered
the only cold meat we have in the middle east
And I thought I was Oscar Meyer.
Make yaself a Anthony Bourdain Mortadella sandwich

To me it's fatty bologna that sometimes has pistachios in it lol
Don't eat Mortadella if you are scared of food
dont u mean LOW glycemic index
I dont hear anything about what part of the animal its sourced from as I listen to a narrator who sounds like she is 15 years old.
Does all mortadella have nuts in it?
No
The difference between Mortadella and American Bologna....?
12 dollars !
What are you even talking about lol?
Mortadella should be eat fresh, if is not fresh you will know it. My question is still made with horse meat?
I never had it.
pik vrbovec ad at the end :)
I hear these Italians going crazy about the mortedell and its fucking bologna.
This video would be 100% improved by cutting the volume of that stupid background racket.
Definitely the worst Italian charcuterie
Nothing beats prosciutto and authentic salami
Cheers from San Diego California
You're not a real Italian guy. Our culture runs deeper than cooking shows and restaurants.
@@eastprospecthomestead you’re a troll
the Italians are laughing at this comment

@@JohnHausser No, he's right. Bread with Mortadella is the peanut butter jelly of Italy. Not every part of our cuisine has to be fancy.

Its the worst fattest yuckiest thing ever. Its worse than any loaf meat. Its more like 40 percent fat cubes.
I like it, the fat gives it flavour
it's mostly just fat and scraps of meat so to call any mortadella or bologna " high quality " is laughable.
