@@ExploringTheSmoke Just googled it. Its more sinnister actually. Its about real people in the occult. Dave knew some strange folks during the 80s hahs
Always loved Devils Island. Doesn’t get enough love. Dave said during a live show it’s about the movie/book Papillon. I like the 1973 movie the best with Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman. Didn’t care as much for the 2017 remake, but I would still recommend watching both movies.🤘🏻👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it all , that black friday intro style is unique for megadeth as far as I know, and how it builds so dramatically. The first time I heard it it was magical to my ears ,so right, new ,but familiar somhow . It filled a gap I didnt know i had . Very inspiring.
I believe that Black Friday was written to be an instrumental and the record company pushed them to write lyrics so Dave wrote the most horrific and disgusting lyrics he could.
Not much to say, Megadeth brought it. 'Good Mourning/Black Friday' is one of my favorite tracks. Some great solo work from both Dave and Chris here. The last solo, by Chris, still gives me goose bumps. His best solo, I believe while in Megadeth. Side note, The second guitarist, Chris Poland, and the drummer, Gar Samuelson (RIP), played together in the late 70's in a Jazz Fusion band called The New Yorkers. Thier one album can be found on TH-cam. A good listen if you enjoy Jazz Fusion. Gar's and Chris' Jazz background added a different sound to Megadeth's early Thrash albums, something not heard on other early Thrash bands. I'm looking forward to part 3, because you will play 'My Last Words' another under rated Megadeth classic which kicks ass. I would tell you more but I don't want to spoil it for you. Keep it up. You should do both "Killing is My Business...." and "So Far, So Good, So What" later as well. The rawness of "Killing...", you can still feel Dave's anger after being kicked out of Metallica even nearly two years later. "So Far..." has some great tracks too, falling a little more into mainstream Thrash than the first two albums. 🤘😖🤘
MTD!! Incredible comment as always, more Megadeth will be coming, I am DEFINITELY going to check out The New Yorkers, thank you as ever for the incredible comment, I'm glad you enjoyed 🤘🏻💪🏻
Haha, great reaction to Good Mourning/Black Friday. Definitely not for the faint of heart (lyrically and musically). David Ellefson is the bassist.
Absolutely BRILLIANT song
I can't remember but I think its about Halloween horror movies. The first one at least.
@@cycomiles4225 that's crazy if it is, that's my favourite horror movie of all time 😂

It's certainly ear catching!
“Not where I was expecting the drums to go.”
This sums up perfectly why Gar was so special.
HONESTLY 😂😂 Jazz and thrash...who'd have thought they'd work so well hahaha
@@ExploringTheSmoke right? Scott Ian says that bringing jazz into metal was the reason that Megadeth set themselves apart from the rest of the big 4.
@@SgtBearPatrol he definitely knew what he was talking about 😂
You should react to the current album, the album is highly recommended.
the sick the dying and the dead
Thank you Jose, glad you enjoyed, there will definitely be more Megadeth coming! Thank you for watching 🤘🏻
Man I love Good Mourning/Black Friday. Heavy as f*&^!!
So fucking HEAVY
