    You can cut a piece of dowel into small pieces and put it “ behind the pen” so it will stick out a little bit. Like a spacer.

    I could seriously cry right now. I was finally content on how my markers/pens looked and how well their locations were functional to my needs... then i see this video the next day. Don't get me wrong, I'm so grateful you saved my pens with this information, I jumped up so quickly because OF COURSE, ALL of my brush pens were either vertical or diagonal 😭 I've been so caught up In getting tbr perfect paper (i want a lettering JOURNAL and can't find what I have in mind or really not sure how to go about it... should I be aiming for a specific gsm paper?) ugh. so much to learn on top of the skill itself.
    I'll get there.

    Re pen binders: You can use a seam ripper and take out the stitching between two holders to make one larger one.

    This is great advice!! My brush pens have been lying around messily for ages because I wasn't sure how to store them. I just bought 2 pen binders! Thanks Amanda!! :)

    You could paint your zipper pulls, on the pink binder, with different colors of nail polish . Then you can unzip the correct section.

    Thank you Amanda ...I have 6 of the stacking trays -- I duct taped them together - as they do not stay together that well .. slit pens are no fun!I I am exactly that out of sight out of mind person.

    Hello Amanda! I have a question: how do you organize you pens by color or by brand? Ty

    • @AmandaArneill
      @AmandaArneill  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Always by brand, then also within that brand by color families. Hope that helps! Thanks so much for watching!

    Hi Amanda, thanks a lot for this video! I've been struggling with storage and love the binder idea!
    I do have a question though: Karin Markers instructions says that they *have* to be stored vertically. Do you have any tips to figure out when a brand should (or can) be stored vertically? Thanks!!

    • @AmandaArneill
      @AmandaArneill  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If it specifically says store vertically, then do it, otherwise always horizontally! When it doubt - horizontal. Most pen companies would (should) know this so they would specifically say if their pens should be stored differently. Hope that helps and thanks so much for watching! xo

    Hi, I've just discovered you recently and have taken your iPad Bootcamp class. What are your favorite pens and why?

    • @AmandaArneill
      @AmandaArneill  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Angela! That's a great question! I plan on filming a video soon to summarize this but until then you can find my shortlist right here: amandaarneill.com/recommendedsupplies/ I think there's a "What's That Pen?" video on each of these for a full description of why I like them. But also keep an eye out for the video where I'll put it all together soon! xo

    Hi Amanda, what is the best way to store your Jelly Roll pens? Do they need to be laying flat or is it better to store them standing upright?

    • @AmandaArneill
      @AmandaArneill  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Karen! Gelly Rolls should 100% be stored horizontally! I personally keep all of mind in one of my pen binders. Hope that helps!

    I have a pen organiser that stores my pens diagonally. Will storing my brush pens diagonally make them dry out faster or will it have no effect?

  • @tcconnection
    @tcconnection 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Karin says their pro brush pens should be stored vertically with cap end up.

    • @AmandaArneill
      @AmandaArneill  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes! If the company puts out a specific recommendation then go with that but if they don't - store horizontally! Luckily the Karin brushmarker case is perfect to store them exactly how they should be. Their packaging is one of the best!

  • @stationerystory327

    Hey I had another question. Would it be okay to store pens diagonally as many people on TH-cam have those diagonal organisers for their pens.

  • @stationerystory327
    @stationerystory327 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey Amanda I had a question how would you store your gel pens?? Will it be okay to store vertically and if so should the tip be facing down or up. 💕

    • @AmandaArneill
      @AmandaArneill  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I store them horizontally just like all the others! I use one of the pen binders for my Gelly Rolls xo

  • @iricelino
    @iricelino 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi, I understand why pens shouldn't be stored vertically with their tips facing up, but my question is: what if I store them vertically with their tips facing down? What's the risk? Thanks for any answer!

    • @AmandaArneill
      @AmandaArneill  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Irene! Great question! It's because then the ink would pool at the nib side instead of a balanced distribution of ink. Hope that helps! Thanks so much for watching! xo
