    Hello Amanda, I'm really enjoying your videos about brush pen modern calligraphy. I've bought some Tombow pens, which are great, of course, and I appreciate your tips on how to use them, mainly applying varying pressure to achieve the different strokes. But I've also got myself into Dip Nibs, too, and plan to dabble with some Copperplate/Spencerian techniques. Do you think it might be too confusing for me to try to learn both at the same time or can brush pen skills be transferable to dip nib skills and vice versa? Of course, you may not be into the dip nib thing, but I'm just wondering if you have any thoughts on this, thanks.

    Yes. Spacing is my kryptonite. The exit stroke helps but not always. Sometimes my exit stroke is too close to its letter or too far away. How do I fix that?

    • @AmandaArneill
      @AmandaArneill  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      When you're doing your single letter practice, always include your end stroke - it's just as important as mastering the letter itself! xo

      @@AmandaArneill Thanks so much for the reply! I do always make the end stroke, but I make it too close to the body of the letter--or too far away--that's the issue. What I mean by making it to close is that the same sort of thing happens when we regularly write and run out of room so we start squishing things together, i.e., there should be more white space (or there's too much) between the end stroke and the body of the same letter. Hope that make sense ...

      Hi Stella! In one of her videos, she mentions that the way you hold your pen and how your arm is positioned on the table helps ensure that the lead in for every letter is at maximum and also consistent!
