    This was bought to replace an old Lenovo tablet which was essentially too sluggish to cope with modern websites. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxz4qYZoyAOb_hq_UbaKI6AsZX0FnoFm-U This tablet is fast, has a very clear display with built in optional eye comfort shield, great sound with Dolby Atmos, split screen option and numerous tweaks that I've not yet explored. I've plugged a wireless receiver into the i/o socket to connect a mouse if I need it and a bluetooth keyboard works fine - unlike the Lenevo which somehow would often garble the input. Battery life seems good. In short I'm very pleased with it

    Love this video! Used it to dismantle my old Galaxy Tab S after the LCD screen died out and the tablet became unusable.

    Thank you for your video. Unfortunately my tablet (the same exact model) touch screen is broken, but the touch and LCD are working perfectly. Am I need to change only the glass of the touch screen or they are integrated?

  • @jkallday1
    @jkallday1 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thanks. Easier than I thought it would be. Better way to remove battery is to lift plastic wrapper and use as handle to pull it out. See other utube video on battery replacement. Also, I replaced the gold IR thing, top right speaker, circuit board, then the rest in that order. Make sure circuit board is tucked under clip on right, then mtg holes will line up. I was lucky and found a new screen on ebay

    This is helpful for me. I am just replacing the battery and the mainboard. Looks to be pretty straight forward; though it looks like getting the mainboard loose took some effort.

    I'm trying to find a replacement screen for my t705, but the prices are absolutely ridiculous. I bought it last year for 120 GBP, I've unlocked it and I've been using it as my only phone since then. Now the screen is broken and a replacement is much more expensive that the actual device!!
    The good thing is that I had Teamviewer and Pushbullet and I can still access it. I've also got a Gear S3 and I make and receive call through my watch.

    • @NetBoxGr
      @NetBoxGr  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah the bad thing with this one is that the screen replacement part is way to expensive, this one was changed a week after the device was bought and the screens actual cost was half of that of the device. Did you check on ebay and amazon?

    hello there
    thanks for sharing this
    my tablet here has a yellow tint all over the screen
    it just goes away and the screen becomes back to normal colors when I press on the left of the samsung word above the screen in the face of the tablet
    just pressing brings it back to normal and some times it just works fine but it is so annoying
    any suggestions?

    My front 3 control buttons (home/back/multi) do not work. they don't even light up on startup. This stopped when i dropped the tablet whilst the back cover was off!. Any instructions on how to replace that ribbon cable/connectors? I can buy the part easy enough, but looks like to replace it goes beyond what you show in your clip.

    How can i tell if the LCD is damaged too? the screen seems fine. It had green stripes vertically on the screen. IF i recall correctly, it still responded to the touch.

    • @NetBoxGr
      @NetBoxGr  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      sorry for the late reply, it could be that the ribbon cable is not correctly plugged in so you can try that else it's the lcd (probably) but I can't really tell just by description so these are the most likely scenarios

    I had this issue and after that the screen became yellow which remains yellow 98-99% time but 1-2% time it turns back to normal color and again becomes yellow tint. But when a small notification or kind of stuff shows up only that area becomes yellow and the rest of the background screen seems to be normal color. Where might be the prob? I talk with a technician and he said to replace the screen but to me it's not seeming a display issue rather some other connector related hardware issue. Any idea dear???
    Using the tablet for last 5 years

    Hi, I have the tab s 8.4 and the screen gets a yellowish tint, I've researched and believe it's the lcd cable that runs by the top of the front facing cam. Would that be the case? It will go back and forth as it's loose. I've taken it apart and pressed it down and it will work, and when the pressure is off it will go back to the dim, yellowish tint. Any photos taken will be in perfect color when transferred to another device or shared.
    Thank you for any help.

    • @NetBoxGr
      @NetBoxGr  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well that could be two things as you pressed the ribbon cable of the screen and it started working correctly is either the connector on the screen or the input on the main board so either way you need to have that checked by a tech. Cheers!

    • @ajgambs44
      @ajgambs44 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I took apart the back, and there is a cable up top that plugs in by the light sensor near the camera. that was loose and also the lcd cable, a fat one that runs from the top to the bottom sort of, go online and look for a schematic and youl'll see what I mean. That fixed it. See if you can press on the top by the samsung logo and if it goes to the regualr display that's def the problem. I love that tablet. so damn fast. faster than my 10.4 A with s pen I have now.

      yeah Sumsung sells the whole pack together, digitizer and lcd if you get them separated they are not the official parts. (also if you have a brokend digitizer (touch) and try to change only that, there is high risk that you will break the lcd screen during the process.)

      The original part comes together the LCD and the Digitizer, you could get an imitation digitizer and lcd apart but it's always better to use the original parts.

    Hi NetBox,
    my T705 has a black screen, I can see a crack inside (on the LCD, not on the glass).
    The device turns on and I ensured it is still working by connecting it to an external monitor via USB-OTG to HDMI adapter.
    I watched your video several times now and I feel ready to give it a try ... I was wondering if you can point me to which hardware part I need and where to find it. e-bay has something: tinyurl.com/lhvewok but that part looks "different" than the one you are using as the replacement. By "different" I mean it seems to be missing the battery holder and other small parts.
    Thanks for any hint!

    • @NetBoxGr
      @NetBoxGr  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey mate my guess is that it would be kinda hard to remove the holders from the old screen and move them to the new why don't you check one with everything in place like this www.ebay.it/itm/OEM-Samsung-Galaxy-Tab-S-8-4-SM-T700-LCD-DISPLAY-TOUCH-SCREEN-DIGITIZER-FRAME-B-/282420022810?hash=item41c18b8e1a:g:t3sAAOSwDmBY4o3m
      it's an OEM part though we would recommend an original one.

      Hi NetBox, thanks for your reply! I was wondering if the part you posted will fit a T705 .. I can't find it out (yet) I sent a question to the ebay seller .. to see if knows. finger crossed, I'm missing my tablet!

      thanks for the help! "FRAME B" was the keyword :)
      It is not an OEM, so I'm a bit worried ... any thoughts?

    • @NetBoxGr
      @NetBoxGr  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well they do say that it is fanctional and has 3 months warranty but I have never tried using this brand, so it's up to you. Their rating is 94 point something so i would say it's fair enough.
