    Great video! Love the idea of a "real world" tech fix. Taking off the case and removing the battery does take a few minutes, but I got there in the end. Got a battery and toolkit for $20, saving me a lot of cash in replacing my tablet. Happy 2019!

    Bought from Amazon and process shown in this video worked well. Battery came with 55% charge. All tools worked but needed to pry up top first to release sides; Used included triangular plastic tools to hold pried up back. Also, had to pry up two little tabs tabs on the battery connector using black handled pry tool; did this after lifting up battery. New Battery was slightly smaller. Hope that it lasts as long as the original.

    I just changed my battery having watched your video. I started with the Video that shows the battery simply pulling out but found that mine was stuck! I then found your video and it gave me confidence to pull a 'little' harder! To say I was nervous at using a lever is understatement but frankly you have to be quite forceful, no way that battery is coming out by pulling the sticky label! Any way job done battery on charge, fingers crossed it saves me buying a new tab. Thanks

      I’m glad my video could help you out, I know how nerve wracking this process can be. That battery was really stuck in there! If you were having issues with your tablet staying charged this should solve it. Thank you for your support.

    I have a Samsung Galaxy TabPRO (8.4, Wi-Fi) SM-T320 tablet & my battery was getting worse with each use over the last 4 to 6 months. It kept going down faster with each use until even with what appeared to be a 90% charge, it turned itself off in a minute or two until it wouldn't even turn on for me without turning off immediately. I'd initially thought it was the part where I put my charger into the tablet, but after reading many comments, I finally guessed that it's not that fitting at all, but the battery itself. I'm chuffed to bits to have seen your video as it gives me hope that I may not even have to replace my Tablet, but just buy a battery & go from there ... The most I'll have to lose is the price of a new battery! I'd been really happy with my tablet until this problem reared it's ugly head ... but knowing that there's a chance to fix it myself ... I now can't wait to order & get that new battery delivered!! I hate having to replace anything 'technical' as it's a whole new learning curve that I just don't need ... especially as I never manage to use all of the attributes that most people love about buying the top of the line at the time of purchase. I know that mine is old now, but even buying what's considered the latest today will already be obsolete the moment I take it out of the box. I'm also pleased that I can keep all my s'ware & data that's on it, so THANK YOU for showing me that there's another way other than purchasing a whole new unit!! I'm also grateful that you showed me that if I have problems getting the back off, that it's not just me, but even someone who knows their way around technology had difficulties ... & overcame them! :)

      Thank you for that comment Wendy, It makes me feel good to know that my videos have helped at least one person. Ever since I replaced that battery in my wifes tablet it hasn't had any issues even to this day and she uses it everyday to read books. Some things look overwhelming at first but if you take it one step at a time you can usually accomplish anything. Let me know how things work out for you, I'm pretty confident that it will solve your issue. Thank you again for your support.

      Where did you get a Samsung battery ? When I call them they said that I would have to send them the unit for their tech to inspect ($ $ $ $) and that the battery was not available for sale as a spare part and could only be replaced by a Samsung technician $ $ $ $ $ . I am in Australia.

    Great video thanks.
    It gave me the confidence to have a go.
    I watched it once then ordered the parts. It took me just 6 min in total. Removing the glued battery took the most time. Just keep pulling from different angles. Firm pressure. Just for a second or two. Maintain the pressure once you start to hear the glue giving up.

    I just bought and installed a new battery. It was a little difficult to pry the case open, but I finally got it. The new battery saved a 300 dollar tablet that had become unusable due to intermittent restarts and flickering screen. It seems to be working fine now. Best 15 dollars I ever spent.

    Thank you so much for your video, it helped me a lot as it is not as easy to change the battery as other video would make you believe. I had problems with removing the battery connector but the battery was the main problem with the amount of glue behind it, on the Samsung battery, it says "pull hands only", yeah right ! You gave me the confidence to force it a bit more, I was so afraid of breaking something. Thanks also for the reminder about the SD card (and the Sim card), I did forget that they were in there. I would give you more likes if I could. Can't believe some people gave you "Dislikes".

    Hi Tony, I have a Samsung Tab S10.5, I love this tablet but I've noticed the battery is not lasting as long as it used. I'm thinking it might need a new battery soon or I might need to buy a new tablet. If, I were to buy a new one, which tablet would you recommend to, replace the Tab S 10.5? Oh and if decided to try and change the battery, will the tablet do a factory reset when I disconect the battery or will i loose any of my data? Thanks for your post. I just subbed you.

    • @HighTechCheck
      @HighTechCheck  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for the sub! Honestly I would change out the battery and keep that tab, its a beast and I loved that model. Its got a beautiful display and a great processor. The tab s 8.4 that i replaced the battery on here was fine, no data loss no factory reset. Just take out the sd card if you have one before opening it up.

    I didn't replace battery. The charge port connection was partially unplugged. Cleaned connections and no more restarting/glitching issues. I recommend running a launcher and not using touch wiz. It is horribly laggy. Your tab will run smother with any launcher from play store and try a different theme. Good luck.

    Great Video, how is the battery holding after all this time, would love to know? It seems the NewPower99 is the only reputable seller of these replacements. Most eBay and Amazon listings that claim to be OEM are fake Chinese copies. Some sell used pulled out from cracked screen tablets and sell as new.

      Thanks James, The battery is still going strong and its been about a year and a half! I was skeptical at first because of all the crappy batteries you find on ebay etc like you said but this was legit. Have not had any problems and i would recommend this to everyone. Hope this helps.

    I got a samsung tablet S 8.4 battery from NewPowe99, and we have spent two days trying to get it to charge..opened the tablet to s?tart pg..registered only 10% and it continued to drop a percentage or two everytime i checked for the charge level. Now it is down to 1%. I have tried different samsung cords and plugs, but not helping...Tablet is toatally snapped back together. Any suggestions?

    • @HighTechCheck
      @HighTechCheck  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would open the tab back up and unplug the battery connector from the motherboard and then reconnect it, maybe it didn't seat right the first time. If after that you try to let it charge for a bit and you dont see it charging you may have a faulty battery, I would contact newpower99 and get a replacement. You are the first person that has had this problem that I've heard of. I hope this resolves your problem.

    If you use accubattery app to estimate battery health and capacity, what will it be? Note: The longer you use the app the more accurate the reading will be. Run the battery to 0% then charge up to 100% multiple times, make sure the app is running.

    I was having trouble removing the battery until I decided to dip the end of my Nylon spudger in Isopropyl Alcohol. After that, I was able to go underneath it and pry it out in a matter of seconds.

      Another good idea is to warm the back briefly with a hair dryer before trying to peel it out. Cold adhesive is much harder to remove than warm adhesive. I haven't replaced my battery yet, but I bet this would help.

      The flickering (and it seems maybe the abrupt battery drain as well) is a known issue with a known solution. forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=62202290&postcount=7
      Replacing the battery may fix the problem, but you may be able to save money by just readjusting the connector. Another post here forums.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-tab-s-8-4/447815-tab-s-8-4-lte-battery-drains-extremely-fast-erratically-2.html#post4694285 with the same instructions that claims to solve the battery drain issue instead of screen flicker. I had some symptoms of both screen flicker and abrupt battery drain - both of which seems to have gone away after readjusting the connectors.
