Thanks for mentioning the music. I think Noctilum's day theme and Sylvalum's night theme are my favorite songs in the entire series. Which is saying something, because the music in this series is INCREDIBLE. I can't wait to play this again!
I have never played Xenoblade Chronicles X because, unfortunately, i started playing the Xenoblade series in 2022 after the announcement of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 (i played them in this order: Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, and finally Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition). This year, i became very interested in Xenoblade Chronicles X thanks to a TH-camr who made a series about it; and even though I didn’t understand much about the game, it intrigued me so much that you can imagine my reaction when the Definitive Edition was announced. So, on March 20 2025, it will be my first time playing Xenoblade Chronicles X, and since i often hear such great things about it, my expectations keep growing. I can’t wait to explore the world and, most of all, experience the story of this game.
As someone who played and sunk so much time in every game across the mainline games, I think X is still my favorite out of all the Xenoblade games. Though please don't get me wrong, I absolutely love every Xenoblade game, and have played them all twice! X's world is my most favorite out of any open world I played, its a perfect depiction of what I would expect an alien world thats similar to Earth would like, every region of the game is diverse and full of life, simply breathtaking! Describing the combat XC1's but on crack is very accurate. The overdrive mechanic is something I still havent fully grasped despite two full playthroughs, though I can say you dont need to master it to simply enjoy the game and finish it. I do hope the game does a better job of explaining how to make the most of it, but at least we have people like Enel to help us out. The story is definetly more on the meh side compared to the other games, but I think its pretty good for what it was, it just sucked that the original game left on such a huge cliffhanger. You have NO IDEA how absurdly happy I am that were finally getting those loose ends answered after all these years! Anyway yeah, tldr; X good, maybe not perfect, but still really good. Its worth a chance if your on the fence.
I spent 300+ hours in X and still discovered new things after just flying around a bit because I cant wait to see XCX DE in action. Xenoblade chronicles X is basically following the long tradition of the first Sequels of Game Series that take a more or less different approach such as Zelda, Pokémon and Fire Emblem for example. I wolud say that for the Xenoblade game with the weakest Story it still has some of the most sifi plottwists that not many games pull in the way X did. The battle system being like XC1 on crack is probably the best explaination I have heard yet. Also absolutely pick up every item you can find near a giant lake in a dessert, dont ask why just do it.
I loved the combat and exploration in X so if they can nail the introduction of some cut content and new story bits then hopefully it can bring in the new Xenoblade fans too. Finally giving us few Wii U players that played the original some closure on the cliffhanger as well. Even if they retcon a few things I'll be happy to replay this game.
The way I explain it is... X is more like a WRPG than the JRPG it is. Compare it to an Elder Scrolls, a Fallout, Hogwarts Legacy, etc... and by those standards X has far more story 2x or more main story and comparable or more optional stories with large amounts of choice and consequences.
I could be completly wrong with that, but my guts tell me Laos epilogue story will be completly seperate from the main game. Basically the game plays exactly out how we are used to, even using the old cutscene of the black knight approching Lao. Similiar to how XC1 DFs Future Connected was at the start menu, I could see Laos adventure also be like that. Maybe for completling it you unlock some stuff for the main game, but other than that there might be nothing else there. What I could see is that Lao teams up with that black knights guy, and together their gimmick for this expansion is the two pilot skell. With the whole soul voice system, this game technically don't need a healer, so I guess 2 party members could be enough, if the game balances around 2 people and the two pilot skell.
Okay, i watched the entire video, and i can’t wait for March. Xenoblade (which, in my opinion, already has large maps), but open world? Again, i can’t wait to explore, especially since, as i understood from the video, there’s a monster encyclopedia and, most importantly, as mentioned, there are actual caves to explore. Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition might very well be the game that changes my opinion on open-world games, which haven’t convinced me much with Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. The only thing I’d like to understand better concerns the online component: are the real-time missions restricted to a small set of missions, or can all missions be done in real-time? Because I have a friend who’s planning to buy the game, and if you tell me i can do the missions with him and enjoy most of the game together, i can’t wait. Thank you so much for this video, it was very helpful, especially because it made me realize that I’m going to have a lot of fun with this game!
the side quest is soo good it remind me of playing mass effect series, dragon age, witcher 3 and skyrim nearly some of the best western rpg back then which got me into compared to the main series that focus on main part in most way and mech made the exploration worth and its quest on getting the mech lol
I've been curious about this game for a while, but I never expected to be genuinely considering it since it was trapped on the Wii U for a LONG time. The big thing I need to figure out is, since I dropped XBC2 like 50 hours in, would it be the same here? You mentioned tutorials needing to be improved, which is a bit intimidating as that was the big problem with 2. Lol. But ye, XBCXDE is definitely something I'm gonna keep an eye on, at least.
I do believe the main story in this game is weak, lol. Open World games having stories that are even worse is more of an indictment on the quality of open world stories in general than it is a celebration for X. I'd compare the quality of X's story to the one in a Bethesda game. It's comparable to the story in something like Starfield. If people go in expecting that, then their expectations should be more properly in line for what X offers in it's main quest line.
X still has my favorite combat and exploration of any game in the series. AND it's basicly a mech simulator to top it all off!
Thanks for mentioning the music. I think Noctilum's day theme and Sylvalum's night theme are my favorite songs in the entire series. Which is saying something, because the music in this series is INCREDIBLE.

X is different because we're stuck on a different planet.
no peace lookin' at the sky
X is different because we use Bigger Guns
Not even a distant land.
From what I've heard, that's a lot more than one can manage
Hello? Is this thing on?
I spent 300+ hours in X and still discovered new things after just flying around a bit because I cant wait to see XCX DE in action.

Small neat detail.
Your skell foot step inflicted damage to small enemies.
You can kill (or engage in combat) just by walking.

I will never forget the trauma after I choosed the option go take a shower at this water epuration station.
Yep. This sidequest with the eggs 🥚
Without X, BOtW wouldn’t be as good as it is
The way I explain it is...

X needs more Tatsu for that X/X score
0:38 this new intro is quite sexy ahah.

explain the combat-system for X in short xD lets dance the blossom dance :D

In the original release, the online missions were separate. This could change in the DE version, but I wouldn't assume it.
@zxride64 Sorry for the stupid question, what do you mean by separate?
the side quest is soo good it remind me of playing mass effect series, dragon age, witcher 3 and skyrim nearly some of the best western rpg back then which got me into compared to the main series that focus on main part in most way and mech made the exploration worth and its quest on getting the mech lol

Can I play this game without playing any of the others or will I feel lost (in terms of the story)
I'm going to lose it when I get to noctilum at night with the new lighting on my switch oled
and then storm came in just in time and you see nothing lol
Idk I have a lot to play right now and Im not sure if Xenoblade is for me
Why are u on videos about JRPGS then
@@senritsujumpsuit6021Probably because it was on their recommended and they decided to see if the video could convince them to get interested in it?
My budget is so dead..... I'm gonna lose all my money and memory on my SD cards..
5:20 Hear Hear!
It's baffling that people defend that game's extremely empty world.

Soon I seen you compare this game to Star field. I knew your opinion was null.
