I have a 2012 that when you come to a stop it makes kind of a grumbling noise you let off the brake or put in neutral it stops. When first started would only happen at stop but now while driving it happens also. Could it be this issue with fuel pump
Thanks for this. I had a rattle in my engine that I was convinced was the timing chain. I ordered this part and installed it but was not satisfied it would fix the problem because the one I took out didn't seem too bad. I took it for a drive and the rattle is gone now. Thanks again 😊
What year is your car? I have a rattling sound on acceleration and Kia basically told me to run a few tanks of premium fuel through it or get a fuel injector cleaner, but I think they are full of it....My car was burning oil and they couldn't even diagnose that is was the pcv valve.
it just a loud ticking sound, like metal on metal usually hear it most when starting up engine or accelerating. its very noticeable louder than engine.
If it makes a small Metalic rattle as you accelerate up a hill or a small incline. Then you have this issue. It’s very common in kias especially Kia optimas
@@nesmacinvestmentsllc772 instead of regular gas. Put premium and watch the noise go away. Also run a treatment of fuel injector cleaner.(5$ at auto zone) put it into the tank of gas and watch your Kia come back to life. I would also just replace that bearing and go back to regular gas.
Damn I wish I would've found this out before I put my 2017 Kia on a cross country road trip to Montana from Orlando. If I knew I would not have done it. Now my car is broken down 6 hours short of my destination. So pissed right now.
Warning!!! Yes this is a good video, but if your engine is making noise this probably NOT the issue. Look up videos about the Kia engine recall. Make sure you have the KSDS update or you will be sorry! I have a 2016 Kia Optima and engine completely froze. This is a known issue. KIA has a lifetime warranty but only if you have the software update…beware!
I do too. It happens for me at most when it’s cold and I drive it immediately. As it warms up it goes away for the most part. But at times it can still be heard. I was told it has something to do with the fuel injectors…. I complained at the dealership twice and they couldn’t find anything wrong.
Aye boys if you’re here watching this right now, just go ahead and get the cam follower…. I put it off too long, and now the little rattle on acceleration has turned into a very aggressive knock. My engine is done. So if you’re hearing the rattle now and you’re reading my comment, go ahead and get the part. I’m only at 90k miles too.
My engine sounds loud but it's there isn't any squeal or knock, its just sounds like the belts but it's louder than most other cars and i remember it being quieter. 2014 Kia Optima.. could it be what he is describing? Or belts just getting worn out perhaps?
Sorry hey Chad we’re you able to find the noise on your Mía I have the dama problem I replaced timing chain and fuel pump cam follower and still have the noise not a rod knock either
@@CarlosRodriguez-iq8iy try the passenger side motor mount. These guys have a video on it too. I'm pretty sure that is my issues. I replaced this part. @@CarlosRodriguez-iq8iy I replaced passenger side motor mount on mine and the weird noise went away for me. Those can cause some odd noises. My old car had same sort of issue. At high speed and acceleration it made a weird noise. Took a lot of mechanics to figure it out.

Would you happen to have a video showing the sound it makes? Thanks you.
Currently trying to find a video with a example so I can confirm it’s the same noise lol
@@MultiPeyton22 same lol
Good question sir
@MultiPeyton22 it would sound like vw diesel

Rattle was only at cold start or permanent?

I changed this camshaft follower and my pump started to make metal rattle noise:( and leaks oil a little, I wish didn’t touch it…

Would this apply to the hybrid model as well? What I'm hearing is a ticking noise, but no so much a rattle.
Would like to hear the actual noise
it just a loud ticking sound, like metal on metal usually hear it most when starting up engine or accelerating. its very noticeable louder than engine.
So are we talking a rattle under acceleration or at idle?? I test drove an 11' optima and didn't buy it cause it had a chatter after 3k rpm

My car does the same thing
would it be possible to just replace the camshaft follower if its not triggering any codes, and would i need to replace the fuel line?
If this is bad does it only rattle when you start it or does it rattle all the time?
Do you have a video on back break lights not working when pressing on breaks but 3rd light works and turn signals work also.
It's the sockets. They are loose from the heat of the bulbs. They also have a recall on the brake light switch.
Thank you so much. Very detail info..
I have KIA Optima 2016, but I can't locate high pressure fuel pump in same place shown in this video... where it can possibly be?
I believe it on top of the tank. Pull down the back passenger seat and lift the carpet. Then open the small metal hatch
