    I bought the 2023 GMC Sierra 4x4 Elevation (L3B) 2.7 Turbo to pull my bass boat and absolutely love it. Made a trip from Oklahoma to Dallas, TX yesterday without the boat and got 23.5 MPG wind to my back and the acceleration merging into traffic was (Awesome!) way better than my GMC 09 with the 5.3. This is one bad ass truck. Never in my wildest dreams would I think I would own a 4 cylinder full size GMC truck. No regrets! :)

    Had a 2015 GMC Sierra with 5.3 V8 and traded it in for a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado LT with 2.7 liter. Bought new truck in Feb. of 2023 and presently have 850 miles. Here are some of my thoughts. Definitely getting better gas mileage with 2.7 with at least 4 to 5 miles a gallon better than with V8. On one long trip of 236 miles I maxed out at 27 to 28 miles a gallon. I do have a tonneau cover for truck bed. As long as you do not have a heavy foot you will see great gas mileage. The first 3 gears the 2.7 engine produces more noise than the V8. Higher gears and driving 40 or more mph and you hear almost nothing with the 2.7 engine. As others have stated the brake pedal is different than in the V8. Not as fast to respond to stopping truck. It does take some getting used to in sound going from 2.7 to V8, but I have not seen a marked difference in power getting out of the gate as they say. Time will tell how the truck holds up. Just my 2 cents

    I have a 2023 Custom 2.7 and not all that crazy about it. It’s a beautiful truck, gets good gas mileage, tows my 5000 lbs camper well through the mountains here in Tennessee, and has plenty of room inside for the family on family trips. So please don’t think it’s a bad truck. I don’t like the way the truck drives. It definitely has turbo lag, it feels like there is a sensor or something in the braking that makes the brakes slowly go to point of pressure you put on the brake pedal (so the braking lags also), the transmission is always in gear and down shifts when you let off the gas (so it never will coast) no matter what drive mode you’re in, way too many driver assist gadgets (lane assist, brake assist, high beam assist), I can only describe the handling/feeling of the truck as laggy, and that the truck is in control of me more than I’m in control of the truck

    Hey, nobody doubts the 2.7 has the power, or torque, or that emission targets will be easier to achieve. What people are worried about, is the past performance of GM’s previous small displacement/turbocharged offerings, which worked well til the factory warranty was expired,(like magic). @@thomasmcghee2468 Well the Titan I drove was a Pro-4X which is the off-road package so I liked it better for that purpose already. It has all-terrain tires, a rear locker and Bilsteins. I much preferred the 5.6 V8 in that truck. It sounded amazing and had plenty of power. The interior was MUCH nicer than this particular Chevy. The seats in the Nissan are zero gravity and very comfy. The 5.6 V-8 in that truck has been out FOREVER and is very reliable. I met a guy with a Titan that had 340,000k on it and it was still going with little issue. I drive a Frontier with 180k on it and I love it. I have even thought about taking that 5.6 out of a Titan and installing it in my truck. The titan and frontier are on the same frame with all the same mount points so you can drop the 5.6 drivetrain right in it with minor issue. I have driven most of the newer 1500 trucks with the exception of the Toyota and the Titan and the Ram are my favorite. The Chevy and the Ford, I think, have a bigger back seat area but I get by fine with my frontier so any full size will work for me. The ram has an awesome interior but I like the reliability of Nissan. Close to Toyota (with their trucks) for less cost. I think the Titan is underrated but that's just my two cents. If I decide to upgrade to a full size that is probably what I will get

      I agree. They should have taken their 4.3 V6 and made a turbo out of it. The 2.7 is fine for the Colorado/Canyon and SUVs. I think the 2.7 will eventually prove to be a good engine but it's difficult to get a buyer to "buy" into it when the fuel economy is relatively similar to the 5.3 V8 which only $2K more and the 3.0 Duramax diesel is only $2800 more up here in Canada where I am.

  • @jamesm568

    I personally wouldn't touch it as I would want the 6.3L for constantly towing as fuel mileage is irrelevant to me. Now if you're happy with it and it does everything you need it to do then it's the perfect truck for you. That engine will definitely be good in the new Colorado and Canyon.

The 4 cylinder has approx 50 lb-ft more torque but the overall stats for payload and towing are relatively the same. You might as well buy a V8. Do want chevrolet vega ? Because 2.7 engine lots problems noise engine and many will follow issues that don't want it like a chevrolet vega. Really problem next gm shift change like if remember 4,6,8 v engine 🤔 back late 70's ,80's it failed.

      Yeah I like the Titan better. I will likely go that route or a Ram Rebel if I decide I want a full size.

      I would think engineering would improve over 40-50 years.

      Like I said car,drive magazine it top 10 worst engines ever made debut 2018 . 2 my friends are mechanics they call 2.7 engine junk. 2.7 engine if pulling a wagon you do it short distance and can't go on long distance. 2.7 engine issues cylinder heads, timing chain, fuel pump, turbo charger, under powered for truck weight. Good luck

      @Derek Gilbert facts and data with the Silverado since 2019 prove you wrong.

    The title is a four cylinder turbo. That motor under the hood sounds like a damn diesel.

      @kypetrolhead  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did but I read the numbers from previous year by accident. 430 lb/ft is correct.

  • @kevinvest7513
