Wow. I really cannot comprehend how much you get done. I know the entire family is whole heartedly contributing, but a brand new baby, home made meals, all the preserving, a house to maintain, the never ending garden chores, 4 other kids needing time and attention, a hubby, home schooling. It’s so much. Then, to top it all off you always look gorgeous…even in 100 degree heat. It’s truly amazing! You’re amazing. Great video!

That was an incredible video of how much effort it takes to work these gardens. It is often not seen and this truly paints the picture of what hard work and determination goes into growing food with all the good, bad & ugly. And only those who do it themselves know this is how it truly goes …..I appreciate you!
I am so frustrated with bugs and staying organic makes it a job in itself. The pest pressure is intense here in The Bahamas where I live and we too are over 100 degrees everyday. Two hours every morning dedicated to watering and checking all the crop for pests and removing them. Seeing your children and husband so involved is heart warming. They see the importance. My husband is trying to be more involved this year with growing even though we both work in our construction company every day. It’s a mindset that you have to do it no matter how busy work is. Home comes first every morning and every evening. Love your channel ……

Tromboncino squash gets zero squash bugs and disease! It tastes exactly like zucchini and it’s 2-3’ long. You don’t have to worry about them getting too big. Pick them whenever you want, cook with or I grate loads and freeze for adding to meatloafs, sauces, zucchini bread

Great video! Amazing how much you get done as a family. I love hearing Noel sing....I still smile thinking of her singing her "June Bug" song to her chicken before you even built the house. 🐓🐔 From a previous video I learned about RX Soil from you. I sent my soil in for testing and found it to be invaluable to me in my gardening. I'm in Arizona, we have "sand" and that was about it. The process was quick and the information I received back from them was amazing. Instead of throwing everything I could think of in my garden to help the soil I now know EXACTLY what I had to do. I will be using them at least twice a year from now on!

Thank you for the daily perspective!
I watched with my fourth child, who is almost two weeks old, in my arms and felt like I could never do what you are doing. Luckily, I understand that you didn't make all that awesomeness happen overnight. I'll just focus on getting one or two rows prepped and cover cropped this fall so I can have the best start possible in the spring. Then, add another row after I feel more confident. So on and so forth!
Keep up the good work. Please keep showing us the reality and the beauty of your homestead. It is inspiring. 😊

Understandably, your baby changes your flow but it’s nice to see all of the things you’re doing even through the heat. It’s good to teach children how to do
this kind of stuff. Groceries are too high in the stores. This is how I grew up on a farm. My dad had 40 acres but we didn’t use all of it for crops, but most of it. It was a lot to do. I don have a garden today. Y’all work so hard and it pays off. My dad had mules, then he got a tractor. It was slave work for us back then.

Decades ago, I learned to make cutworm collars from strips of old paper or newsprint 2x2.5 inches to wrap around the stems. Then it biodegrades and it saves time.
I've trellised tomatoes in my greenhouse for close to 20 yrs. I have found using one plant with two leaders works better than a single leader. You'll get more fruit with fewer plants. I have humid conditions and the air flow is still fine. Keep the suckers cut. I let plants grow naturally and at about the 18 to 24 inch height the naturally want to branch and that's where the two leaders begin. Hope this helps.

As much as others may see this as a lot of work, but there are those of use that would love to have it.

I love your videos! They are very inspiring. I also got really excited when you mentioned the Sabbath Day. Then I went and checked a calendar. I would like to educate on this fact, since you have taught me so many things and I promise this comes from a place of love in my heart.... In 300s A.D. Constantine changed the Sabbath day from Saturday to Sunday to appease the pagans/Gentiles and make them more accepting of Christianity. (Sunday is actually the day they worshiped their sun god.) Then the pope at the time consecrated it to be on Sunday henceforth ever changing it for the Gentiles. In Isaiah it says that if gentiles keep the commandments, especially observing the Sabbath, we can gain entry to Heaven with His chosen people (paraphrased). God never changed the Sabbath to Sunday:)...man did.

Thank you! Appreciate you sharing that. After the resurrection of Jesus Christ, which occurred on the first day of the week (Mark 16:2 KJV), the Lord’s disciples began observing the Sabbath on the first day of the week, Sunday (Acts 20:7 KJV). Based on that, in our religion we worship on Sunday. Honestly, I don’t think it matters so much to God the day… it’s more important that is happening and we are worshipping him!!🧡

As gardener in a much smaller space I know the work you put into your space! Your dedication is remarkable and inspiring!
We created an in ground space for corn, sunflowers and squash. I keep thinking we should plant a ‘cover crop’ but am curious how you decide what crop to plant. Is it actually something you’ll harvest and when? Or is it just something that will pull out easily before spring planting?
Thank you for sharing the month of August with us. It’s amazing what you and your family have accomplished on your homestead.
