If it was made so that it did not have to withstand high winds but could fold up, it might combine wind and solar. When winds are maybe 30 mph, a smaller diameter wind collector might collect a lot more energy than the large diameter solar dish. Plus, the wind concentrator works at night. A 20 meter radius area could generate about 400 kw of solar. A 10 meter radius folded down dish that concentrates wind through a 7 meter radius hole in the middle to a wind turbine behind the dish might generate about 400 kw at 30 mph. At 40 mph it might generate 800 kw. A smaller residential rooftop design might cost a lot less than regular solar panels and generate a lot more electricity. A four meter radius dish would generate about 30 kw at 60% efficiency using combined solar thermal and high efficiency high temperature solar cells at the center. Folding in the center in high winds to leave a 3 meter radius hole in the middle might generate about 100 kw in 30 mph winds. Or fold down the concentrator in really high winds when the wind turbine would generate 100 kw without the concentrator. It might also be used as a microwave weapon. If there were a million dishes on a million houses in a metropolitan area each firing a million Joule microwave pulse, it would be the equivalent of about 250 tonss of tnt where the pulses meet at the focus. The focus of so much microwave energy would turn the air into plasma which would explode like a huge bomb. Plasma readily absorbs microwave energy, so once the focus turned to plasma, little of the incoming microwave radiation would pass through the focus with no effect. That amount of heat and explosive force might destroy just about anything. Times a billion dishes from a large area of the Earth's surface would be like a large nuclear weapon.

average insolation i found online in india is 500-1100 w/m^2 per hour. and this system is supposed to produce 400kg of steam water per hour...latent heat of vaporization of water is 2.26 x 10^6 j/kg of water. 1. (input) peak insolation in midday ~ 1000w/m^2 x 500sqm= 500,000Wh 2. (output) latent heat of vaporization of water is 2.26x10^6j/kg x 400kg of water = 904,000,000j = 251,111 Wh 3. efficiency is insolation/output = 251,111/500,000 = 50.2% peak efficiency. is this close to accurate of the actual performance?.... ive seen other CSP projects mentioning their efficiency is 23-30% curious to know if i missing out something?

Kya Ise small scale pr banaya ja skta hai?? At township level or society level.??
No
Are there any companies that make a small CSP that could be used for home hot water heating?
What type of water is used?
Because Normal supply water or ground water has minerals which reduces the longevity of storage and supply system.
DM water
