The first thing is to learn the mother tongue, you will be welcomed as soon as you speak their language, Chinese would embrace you immediately. Good luck going home!
China needs their Right to Return Law for the overseas Chinese who are born in different countries and would want to “return” to their ancestors land. Almost similar to Israel with the Jewish people who “want to return to their holy land” made thousands of years ago.
In 1955,China, through Zhou EnLai told the Global South countries that the ethnic Chinese in their country would be considered their citizens and not Chinese nationals. If any ethnic Chinese want to return to China, he/she would have to be prepared to give up the current citizenship and apply for Chinese nationality.

I want to visit my ancestral area in Fujian. But, I don't have chance, caused by political reason in this SEA country, especially in the last 20 years. 🙏🙏

其实中国自古以来对所谓“中国人”概念或者现代的中国籍概念,都是血统论的,民族融合或者说“华夏文化论”,那得基于地理和历史维度的“长期”共存/同化,才会被广泛接纳为中国的一部分。对于海外华人尤其是东南亚华人,取得中国籍或者双国籍的问题,现在的做法其实真的是基于建国后的现实主义政治因素影响而不得不采取的方案了。
