Tanks legs now are faster than their predecessors thanks to their rear boosters and now can possibly move faster than two legs on ground, allowing for strafing while keeping distance from CQC enemies and also come with ramming function to deal with them. Man, this should've been how tank type legs worked in previous AC game.
They do look slower than the ones used in Gen 5 PvP with full Glide boost and Quick boost, but I guess movement like that wont really be needed for Ac6 single player.

Glad someone else knows they used to be good til AC4. My best AC in 2 was using treads with two howitzers and banking on just killing enemies online in a few shots while they tried to dance around me forgetting TREADS LET YOU SWIVEL!
@@zigfaust Exactly. My favorite build was El cheapo. Ballistic cannons on the arms and energy cannons on the shoulders. Simple and effective. Just drive and Dodge until the opponent used too much energy and was a sitting duck. The build took me through the arena mode of all the games I played until 4 where I had to switch out the tank treads because they were just awful.
Awesome to see a nearly 18000 AP AC. Other tank tread ACs ive seen so far have only gone up to like 14000, which isn't much higher than what seems to be the average at 7-8000. Tank builds are real, people!
I love the tank firing those GLs has just beccome the quintessential armored core 6 clip for the moment, its on literally every video you find on the game rn
The fact that just BONKING enemies with tank legs knocks them back and builds stagger is just epic. Also the animations OMG. The core opens up when he uses Assault Boost and the radiator inside gradually becomes redder and hotter, when he uses Assault Armor it becomes RED MF HOT and takes a while to cool down and close up again. The laser cannons also have a radiator on the outboard side that gradually becomes red hot as he fires them. They didn't need to go this hard, but I'm so glad they did.
What's extra nice is since energy weapons works on a heat mechanic in AC6 its not just a nifty detail it's a nice way to give players a on model visual cue how close they are to risk overheating the gun.
Conventional Engineers: It doesn't make any sense, a Mech with tank legs shouldn't be able to fly it's impossible. The engineer who created the tank legs: Flying mechs shouldn't be viable either according to aerodynamics and the laws of physics, but here we are.
Build tank expectation: moving like an ACTUAL tank, take heavy damage, and clear the road. Build tank in reality: do you ever wonder, what if a rocket was sticked on the side of a wheelchair?

Tank Legs are around 9 Meter/30 Feet, they are infact very small on the allready small AC's that are usually around 10 Meter/35 Feet Not many even go above 15 Meter
Ever since this game was announced, every streamer I've seen has shat on the idea of using a treaded mecha I am going to run a treaded AC through the whole game out of sheer spite for them, and to put respect on my boys the Guntank and the Hildolfr
The fact u can still fly decently well just sends me. Imagine being a guerrilla fighter with decomissioned Stinger missiles and all of a sudden a flying Abrams *fast enough to dodge your fire* comes carreining to your position.

It's bad for figthing more mobile AC in wide and free place, the thread leg is pretty fast but not that fast to get away from enemy FCS with high speed AC, tho this can be solved by using High damage weapon but even with that it still have the high risk unless your enemy is only bringing MG with ammo less than 1000 + small missile. tho if it's in more cramped place or just fighting dozen MT then Tank build is the best
AC6 is going be my first Armored Core game. I legit wanna try out tank legs and a pilebunker on one arm so I can just boost into an enemy, hit them with my legs and then finish them with a pilebunk.
If there was one thing I loved about 5th gen armored core was the charge boost doing it with a tank would one shot lights and almost kill everything else while the damage isn't there sadly I'm just glad it looks so cinematic hell I might just go tank threads only. Would also like to see if they make tank threads with extremely fast ground traverse like some modern tanks.
Since the first knowledge of the tank-legs, I tried to wrap my head around how they could work. This game always showed its emphasis on flight and hover, so do the tanks fit? Well, now I know the answer was "yes, but no". Though I'll probably have fun anyway. 😁
