Your shoe shine video took me down memory lane. My dad worked six days a week but on Saturday his only day off, his gift to my mom, brother and I was to clean our shoes. When I heard he had passed away my first thought was, who is going to clean mom's shoes? Thank you for the reminder of a wonderful man.

My father (late) was a Police Inspector, in Maharashtra Police, India. 45 years before, I used to shoe shine his Shoulder cross belt, waist belt, his revolver cover & his shoes. Almost every alternate day, as his duty hours used to be irratic & long. I was 11 years old, It used to take 1 hour for completing polishing job. It was boring, but he used to encourage me for best shine. Due to all those old memories, I even today wear only black, pure leather shoes, with lace, No push in shoes, Which usually no one wears, & also my shoes are mostly shining, & my son daughter & wife critisises me for not using colourful ones, I hate those sports shoes & I am always proud of Black shining shoes + a neat clean old executive type dress. I know the power of impression, I get things done fast, people confide/trust me. I am likeable & a well dressed personality speaks volumes. & So on & on & on ..........
Thanks to my father Late Madanlal Surajmal Tasgaonkar, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Maharashtra, India.
Thanks for reading my emotional post.

I just learned probably a year ago how to dress properly for a business setting, and last week was the first time I bought a pair of real leather shoes instead of the cheap ones you can get at Walmart. I went in looking for just the shoes but the cashier lady threw in a bottle of leather lotion and a bottle of waterproofing solution and told me that real leather needs to be cared for regularly and it kinda put me off for a bit but I thought "eh why not I'll probably get good at it" well after about a week or so I sat down with the shoes in front of me and had no idea what the first step was, after seeing this video you helped me realize that cleaning and shining my shoes is kinda fun thank you for showing me what I'm looking for whenever Im cleaning my new shoes. They look really great with my work clothes.

Just what I learned to do while I was.in the Navy. I found too that after using a horse hair brush after applying polish a few times, polish builds up in the brush and all you have to do is hit your shoes with the brush every few days and they come out looking great.

Ever since I bought myself a few pairs of leather shoes and boots, my favorite Sunday activity is maintaining the aforementioned shoes.
It never gets old, bringing the leather back to life and seeing color and luster pop once again.
I have this channel to thank for getting me into investing in quality footwear and teaching me how to care for them. :)

Whether a man or woman is wearing a thousand dollar suit or is dressed in business casual, if his or her shoes are poorly maintained or improperly cleaned and shined, his or her entire look is marred. Your primer on shoe shining should be a requirement for all who take the maxim “dress for success” to heart.

I have a pair of shoes I use once or thrice a year, (with my very best national costume Bunad). What would you recommend to do before I put them away for storage, something that I can leave on to keep them suptle and clean, and that only require a quick buff to get ready when it's time to use them again.
The shoes also have a metal buckle where laces would be if it had that. This buckle causes grievance when polishing the shoe.
Both your shoe shine videos are very good and I have appreciated them a lot. If you condition, cream polish, one layer of wax polish, and a mirror shine on the toes what's the best thing to do on a regular basis. I doubt I'll do the whole process every couple of weeks. Is just cream polish good between a full polish and shine?

LevelUp Lifestyle Yes, definitely! By no means should you strip your shoes off and do that whole process very often. Once you’ve built up that mirror shine on the toes (if that’s your preference), just condition and/or apply some cream to the rest of the shoe ever so often just to keep the shoes well hydrated and looking good.

Great channel. Thanks for the input. I have 2 pair of spectator shoes (navy and cream and brown and tan) I have never seen any useful hints on any channel showing the care of these shoes. (shoes are all leather) Any tricks would be helpful.

I’m not a business person, but I do have a number of really nice leather boots and shoes which I love polishing. It’s so satisfying… Even just watching your videos I get such a sense of satisfaction, am I a bit sad?😅

This is FANTASTIC. Thank you so much for this video, it's a necessary tool for everyone.
I have a question: should I follow the same steps for every shoeshine? Let's say I shine a pair once a week. If I use a neutral wax polish on top of the cream polish, would you begin next week with the cream polish again? Or would you use something like renovateur to remove the top layers of wax polish first so you can hydrate with the cream polish?

      Dont overdo it.
I would go different about it.
      Different weather and use.
Remember the side of the sole and heal as well.

Hello. I would like to know how do you remove water stains on a leather loafer. I stepped on a puddle of water as I was exiting my car. Can you please advise. Thank you!

How long do you leave the cream in before polishing?

    • @TrentonHeath
      @TrentonHeath  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

That's about the longest part of the shine. Longer the better, but shorter when in a hurry. A couple of minutes will work if the coat is thin.
