ITV and I’m a celeb should be ashamed of themselves. The affects it’s had on him. Katie Hopkins has a point.... she’s publicly said and posted hundreds of things like that but they wanted her in there regardless. They should have spoke to him and tried to work out a way forward. Poor guy 😞
It's so nice hearing Jack speak so openly about what he went through and his struggles with mental health. He explained the feeling of anxiety so well and I loved hearing the way he handled it and ultimately found help. Thank you so much for sharing.
Sidenote: it is *staggering* how much Steve's interviewing skills have improved over the years. He's open, very cognizant of boundaries, probes just enough and knows where to let up, asks open but very specific questions, listens intently, follows-up/cycles back, contributes from his own experience without diverting attention from the subject, remains highly engaged and manages the tone of the conversation throughout. Its fucking sick. Another skill added to the skill-stack!
Cancel culture is getting ridiculous now. There's a great book on it "So You've Been Publicly Shamed" by Jon Ronson. Scary thing is he wrote it in 2015 - after reading it you're terrified at how quickly and viciously this trend has exploded over the past few years.
Thank you for speaking out about the battles you have faced & how much it helps to speak to others about how you really feel can make such a difference
It was so unfair that people were judging him from something he did years ago we all made mistakes everyone was just hypocrites for doing what they did his a good guy
This is hard to watch.I remember this guy his brother and The lovely Joe Sugg who I believe has been one of your very best interviews Joe has super talent, humble, kind,a real gentleman and a true friend to Jack and his brothers 🤗🙋♀️ 😢
Ok very late to the party - but I’m find it so interesting how itv dealt with jack in the jungle. They were very quick to remove him. His anxiety struggles - I hear them. They are so common in this current world. I really feel for him and hope he gets the help he need to support him appropriately. Great pod again thank you x
Steven... been watching you for ages now, some of these podcasts have been really good, but the ad placements seem really insensitive some times, like you ask him about ptsd and just as he is about to answer theres an ad about Huel? I get the ad’s but possibly put them in better places? Thanks, Keep up the good work
I have generalised anxiety disorder and I don’t know how many times a therapist has explained flight, fright, freeze to me and the primitive brain etc. but I still suffer with it. So I’ve obviously missed the point.
well the lesson here is that if you made hurtful statements in the past and realise they were hurtful, you should acknowledge it and apologise. If you are a public figure, you should apologise for them publicly. As opposed to trying to sweep them under the rug! Because the act of hiding it will backfire and create a bigger scandal. We all make mistakes. But it feels like he apologised because he got caught, not because he really thinks it was bad.
I never liked Jack much during the TH-cam golden era (sorry) because I found him cocky. I loved his friends tho so would see his content. I never really had an opinion during the I'm a celeb scandal because while what he said was disgusting and he should have known better at that age, I also know when we were at school in the 00s times were different and boys said some really shitty things and misogyny wasn't really questioned. It was unacceptable but it wasn't challenged by society, so could we really blame one individual who was a product of the society at the time? Personally I wouldn't consider it cancel culture though because calling a 14 year old what he did because she didn't send him nudes NEEDS to be called out and no one deserves a platform as a god given right. I really enjoyed this interview and can see he's matured into a really nice chap who has accepted his past mistakes and used them to grow. I am going to check out his current work now whereas before I wouldn't have given it the chance x
Alright you need to get Joe and Connor on the show, had no idea he was on tv and that happened i only knew him bc of his brother, the idiot brain is such a great book, thought he was younger
I know that this may be a little late and you might not be interested anymore however, Joe has done an episode and it is truly fascinating and definitely worth a watch/listen. Conor has not yet however done one of Steven's, which I 100% would love to see btw, however Conor has done several other podcasts along with an interview that he did with Caspar a few years back. It sounds ridiculous but I would highly suggest that you watch the Caspar interview because you can see Conor speak about his life in a really relaxed environment. For the most part it is serious, there are a few jokes to lighten the mood a bit towards the start but I found the interview as a whole incredibly eye opening and often find myself going back to it because of how good it really is. I hope this somewhat helps :)
@@erindaniel2310 i started watching the episode with joe but i didnt finish, thanks for the heads up anyway, never to late to comment on something! Where is the interview with conor and caspar? I honestly dont understand half of what caspar says
Steven I really wish you could get a girlfriend. I had come across Jack Maynard through another youtube I follow but I had not realised what he had been through so pleased he has come through.
Really interesting. I don´t know this guy I`m not British I don`t watch any version of I`m a celeb, so it`s quite an interesting story to hear as an outsider. Lessons for everyone these days, if you get famous delete your old tweets. Also don`t tweet homophobic and racist stuff! Typical headlines tough soliciting nudes from a 14 year old, the fact that he was 16 is a minor detail for the media.
Thanks for watching! Don't forget to like and subscribe x
Done
Thanks what was that book he read called idiot brain not sure 👍
🤍❤️🩹🤘🏼❤️🔥👑🐐

awww thats so kind sara, means a lot. appreciate you x
Well done to Steven for being sensitive to Jack in his guiding of the conversation felt Jack really opened up and relaxed as he went along ❤️

Piers Morgan also has a book called ‘Wake Up’ that is about cancel culture
Another great episode Steven! This conversation will for sure help a lot of people struggling with their mental health. Thankyou🙏🏼

I love how during the i'm a celebrity segment you just let him talk without interrupting or pressuring him!

The fact they announced you leaving before you even left just shows they wanted more publicity, disgusting
Anybody thinking I'd love to see Steven on SAS 👌🏾
What did he do to get cancelled? Criticise Israel?
Whose Jack Maynard ? whats he actually do ?
