The Hyundai Tucsonis a compact crossover SUV produced by the South Korean manufacturer Hyundai. It is named after the city of Tucson, Arizona. It was originally known as the Hyundai JM when it was introduced in Japan in 2004.
The second-generation model was marketed as the Hyundai ix35 in several markets, including Europe, Australia and China, before reverting to Tucson for the third-generation. Since its first-generation, the Tucson has been developed alongside the Kia Sportage, sharing platforms and engines.
The Tucson is the best-selling Hyundai SUV model, with more than 7 million units sold globally since it launched in 2004. Of these, 1.4 million units have been sold in Europe. As of 2022, the Tucson is positioned between the Kona or Creta and the three-row Santa Fe in Hyundai's crossover SUV lineup.

The fourth-generation Tucson was launched in the Philippines on 20 June 2022 and it became available on dealerships on 17 August 2022. For the Philippines, the Tucson is offered in two trim levels: GLS and GLS+. Two powertrain options are available: 2.0-litre MPi petrol (for GLS) and a 2.0-litre CRDi turbocharged diesel (for GLS+). The Hybrid version was added for the GLS trim in July 2024.

I drive a 2007 Prius (165k miles on the original old school HEV batteries, and still getting 40+ mpg). I am pondering PHEV and BEV for my next car. Unless a PHEV gives the driver control over which motor you want to use as primary) and for which electric range is prioritized over gasoline range. Gas engine has to be the supplemental/backup motor. Not the other way around. Gas engine is used for when the batteries are loW and you can’t find a charging station.

If you were to buy, what would be a better buy diesel vs hybrid. Would fuel savings justify the 300k additional cost? Considering that diesel variant is fuel efficient also(even torquier), and cheaper than gas?
I think amenities and features are also the same, noticeable is only the sunroof

@@JohnAgustinScuderia458595 i think it will not, considering that once you reach the 10 year mark, where 300k fuel savings will justify it thrn you will now need a new battery.
But i guess your buying it for a smoother drive train compared eith the diesel, especially if youre more on city driving

@jeffreypanaligan6588 Tbh Tucson since it uses a conventional 6-Speed Automatic Transmission. CR-V is still good thought and the most fun to drive!
