NOTHING BEATS THE E90! I had that exact car.. same year, same rims, tuned, all new head unit with all new speakers.. carbs walnut blasted, new shocks.. manual trans.. sold it in 2017 for $12,000. Had 90,000 miles on it. That $12,000 was fair market value.. now these sell for $20k? The market.. but I regret selling it every single day

      Nah, he said under 20k.
They even cheaper now than when he posted it. You can find 1 owner, auto, beige spec e90s for 4000$ now. If you want nicer optioned car without the grand dad spec interior, and a stick they usually somewhere around 7-9k.
Honestly I can't really think of a better "tuner" car option these days than an n54 bmw in terms of price : performance. Even the automatics are quite fun to drive, even if they wont be a track monster.

@@rowdyrocketeer2111 Absolutely. If we were daily driving this car, we might opt for a little less aggressive clutch, but even BimmerWorld admits that the multi-plate clutch is overkill. They just wanted to "future proof" the clutch against further power mods should they decide to do them. Chassis-wise, for Florida roads it's 100% fine. If you were driving it around Chicago or Indy it may be a bit harsh, but it's certainly not a tooth-rattler by any means.

This guy’s channel has a lot of good E9x content.
He had a convertible first, and recently got rid of it and got the sedan. He also has a newer M5.
Link is a new series of videos of him modding his most recent car from stock.
Started out by doing a bunch of maintenance to get the car ready for the power.
And he did use all top quality mods, so I’m sure he’s put a nice chunk of change into.
But his channel/video revenue is likely paying for the build.
Think he is still going to replace the diff with an LSD and a few more things, but at this point he just had it dyno’d at 700+ HP and just under 700 ft-lbs.
The series is very informative for someone looking at modding one, and willing to pay a bit more than a “budget” project.
And he provides info on all of the parts he has put on it.

If you love modifying and working on BMWs than this is the car for you. There's plenty of potential but go with what has been proven on the track. You will have to deal with the cooling issues first in order to push the car at the track. Track alignment, wheels and tires will give you much bang for the buck. Stock rotors with stoptech sport pads work great in the front. Bosch quietcast in rear will keep the brake bias in check to keep the car from going into ice mode under very hard braking. I've tested this at a few different tracks.

    • @jacobhauenstein
      @jacobhauenstein 3 ปีที่แล้ว

Maintenance, then start with an MHD tune. Then BMS inlets. Then an inter cooler. Then a charge pipe+tial blow off valve. Make sure you have great tires, then get down pipes. If you still need more power, get a low pressure fuel pump upgrade, inlets, outlets, and run MHD V5.1 e40 map, this will bring it up to around 440 to the wheel, 500+ crank and tons of torque. If you still need more, contact Phuong Kai Vu on Facebook and get a custom e85 tune. If you STILL need more, purchase Viv 17T tdo4 hybrid turbos and a port injection kit, this will make 500-650 who depending on fuel choice. Then install a sway bar, KWV3//OHLIN RT//Bilstein PSS10 coilovers, upgrade radiator, upgrade brake lines, add oil cooler, and you’re set.

I disagree with your statement about the rod bearings. They are not fixed by replacing the bearing, since it is a shell-type bearing. Replacing the bearing is fixing the effect, not the cause. Since a shell-type bearing only works when oil pressure is supplied, and only fails when it isn't…
guess what the problem really is?
(more specific than "the manufacturer," I know beemers are junk)

Except the N54 does NOT have a Rod Bearing issue. Go look at any other N54 channel and they'll tell you all of the internals on the N54 are very strong and reliable. Everything around it isn't though. LOL.

Are you really comparing a 335 to a civic...

A fk8 type r would smash a 335i on track and most other so called performance cars.

Again, your comparing a relatively new engine civic to a 335i which was discontinued in 2014 or 2013, if you take any modern "performance" bmw and put it against the most modern civic, the result will always be the same, with the civic in the rearview mirror.

The e90’s are just ugly af. Always hated those rear headlights, makes the car look like a big fat cow.
    E92/93 look 10x better.
