I know I'm about to be that one annoying person who corrects the spelling... BUT I come with good intents and I agree with what you are saying but the word is spelled neither.
You should go with projectile weapons or plasmas this playthrough. The lasers and teslas got boring to watch. the projectiles flying actually makes it look like a battle instead of going up, attaching yourself to them with light and then they explode.
Connor Mayfield I have four Seeker Missile Cruiser escorts for my Dreadnought. It's quite a sight with all them missiles flying. The missiles themselves also kinda look like the Stargate Atlantis Drone weapon in flight. Just wish the devs will increase their travel speed and range in the future. It's kinda sad when even my Dreadnought can outrun enemy missiles..

Pro Tip: you can use the Transform tool to change the Blank Hull block you start with into something functional. Crew Quarters and Iron Inertia Dampener are two strong options, depending on your shipbuilding style (Inertia should be near the center-of-mass for your ship if you're going to use one, to reduce the effect its mass has on angular momentum).

Very glad to see you taking this approach with more fleet mechanics. I'd love to see you deck out the Mite with as many mining lasers as the generator can handle... and then build 50 of them.
Honestly, you could always attach the mite to the top of a larger ship as the bridge section. It has the looks for it and would make a good "Getaway" vehicle if you pretend it can detach.

What I was referring to, quite poorly admittedly, is buying items then moving to a new sector to sell them. In the season before this the trading system in the game pretty much made the end game stupidly easy by allowing for near unlimited money with very little effort, It also means you can get rich at the start of the game quickly which means very large vehicles very quickly 19:17 - "If I can make a ridiculously huge vessel straight away" . Sometimes that could even be done with stations within the same system!
For the curious, he's not using any mods. He's using the beta version of the current build for the game, and is able to use everything shown that is not available for the current, stable release.
To get there from Steam, right click the game and head to properties. Should be a little pop up with 5 tabs, so click the last one (Betas), and select the scroll down bar within. Afterwards, just select "beta - Newest Changes, Beta". You'll be forced to download it, but after it's done you'll have access to everything he has.
No idea how to access it if you're using something other than Steam. Sorry.

Lathrix, can you please make more From The Depths tutorials? I can play a simple game like Avorion and do, but it's really hard to learn a complex game like from the depths. Your videos would be very much appreciated to many of us.

The inertial dampener works as a all around braking system it works when going up down forward backwards left and right the gyro just helps turning so a large gyro and a large gyro and a large inertial dampener are a replacement for thrusters except when you are strafing

I think you should do a pirate build and only trade with smuggler's dens. you could do it with long range high damage weapons for killing stations. add less hull and shields, but more computer systems, generators, thrusters, and jump drives. this would allow you to be small, agile and quick, but still let you to have lots of guns.

The Inertia Dampeners work as I would expect them to. They reduce the Inertia of the craft, thereby reducing momentum, which means you stop quicker. If you had enough to make the craft have zero inertia, you would stop as soon as you stop your engines.

What would be cool is if you found a sector that had nothing in it, and then built a load of space stations and ships to defend that sector from enemy ships, if that can even be done. But then to build a massive space station which will be your kind of main base
The Blood God is furious with your lack of his style of craft in the last season. You have one opportunity to redeem yourself...make this season the harbinger of Khorne into Avorion.
Edit: could go with Nurgle if you want something new, or even Tzeentch.

LATHRAX, hold shift to go through rocks in the space FAST I use it to find titanium and then the next and the next. It will help a lot because it shows the direction of the rock your scanning at.

When repairing on the go the repair tool is better than the general repair. You can replace the broken parts for a portion of the cost (even though the game tips say you can't)

Also titanium is probably the best cheap material to build with iron it to heavy for small ships

this will be a great season! @ lathrix, could you make each vehicle a specialized role? 1 mite for salvaging, 1 for mining, 1 for fighting etc? and as it grows you can have long range, mid range and short range fighters? I think it'd be cool to see each ship have a certain role it fills

the mite looks a lot like a cross between an arwing and samus' ship
I like the mite, but it may look better if the side spikes/wings were bent forwards. Kinda like a bull's horns, or a trident maybe. Totally your call obviously, but just a thought.
I hope this game goes on sale soon.
I would buy it for full price, but there have been times where developers who have a price on their early-access games end up changing what drew me in the first place or just abandon the game before it's fully released.

Lath if you want the game to be a bit harder, you could always just use auto targeting... JUST auto targeting. It could also be fun this way. Also loved season 1.

Challenge: no more then 100crew. Forces you to stick to frigate size, carefully pick your weapons and actually manage trained crew :P

Funny thing. I haven't crashed ~significantly~ since upgrading to the beta. I had two really bad crashes before upgrading though. Love the directional thrusters.
lathrix you don't need independent targeting turrets for ships with captains they can aim the regular ones.

If you make a fleet you have to fight the End boss with your fleet and let them handle the summoned minions of the Blackhole mother ship(End boss). Have fun
When you start building big, please don't stick all the guns on the front of the ship! I feel it looks way cooler if you've got the weapons spread out over the craft (so you can broadside like a boss) :P
you should have miner mites in blue and fighter/protector mites in red
I feel like there should be a way to make your own fighters. Like as long as you build small enough, you can put it in a hangar.

I left it spelled as "bite" cuz I imagine them to get more prehistoric as they get bigger. I dunno, I got that from your first ship being called "Mite". :P
Make the design segmented, with each segment having the thrusters and such it needs to be functional on its own, so that you can't be disabled with a lucky shot.
i think you should have a certain number of mites for every cruiser, and a certain number of cruisers for your main battle ship, something like:
1 battle ship, 4 cruisers, 12 mites

Just finished season 1. I have had far less success on normal. Just getting use to the game I have lost 3 Naonite Cruiser class ships and 1 Trinium ship to running into things lol. Cannot wait to see what insane mode has to offer.
Maybe you can build the "Master-Mite" with a bit of a special feature? (Other paintjob, a bit bigger etc.) :)

you know, 1 titanium can probably get you a really cheep titanium component which would work for use on a titanium turret.
