Thanks for another great one! {, have you ever heard the Ike and Tina Turner bootleg of Whole Lotta Love? I came across it on TH-cam one time and it sounded pretty groovy. Brian in Fort Worth 🎶
Yeah man i share that 1975 feeling, it's like, dude there's no way Black Dog beats Whole Lotta Love, yet they allowed Robert to preserve his troubled high range that year. It was harder for them to find a proper set closer outside of WLL i think. A bootleg of Tina Turner? i haven't heard it, please share the link! Thanks for watching Brian!
@@JCM-LedZeppelin-Stories I hear you and I agree with you. Cheers JCM. For me, the best live "psychedelic section" of WLL is the Blueberry Hill version of September 4 1970. The theremin Sonic Wave and the guitar combine in the most musical way. The Sonic Wave in some later versions could descend into numb knob-twiddling without really advancing the musical narrative. IMHO
Oh man Blueberry Hill, is electrifying start to finish. Is this the greatest Zeppelin show? I agree the Sonic Wave has to be musical first and foremost. I think the later versions are great too, but Page was definitely cooking this from a different place, by 1973 they had conquered EVERYthing!
I appreciate that Scott! Thanks so much. Oh man, you are the first to comment on Whole Lotta Clover. I've always been a huge fan of that song by Metallica. What an experience right?
@ - I was never a huge fan of Metallica (I always liked “One” since 1986) but I truely appreciated them when I heard their S&M concert album. Was disappointed with S&M2 (too much orchestra) and there isn’t a hit song in their new album 72 Seasons, but hey
S&M2 sucks. Agree. 72 Seasons is a good record though. The problem for most metal bands is they become irrelevant in the present because they lose perspective. Not their fault. Millions of dollars will do that.
@@JCM-LedZeppelin-Stories - So true. I can listen to 72S, but IMHO there isn’t a winning single from it and it has only charted well from the dedicated fan base
Strings suits so nice to Whole Lotta Love that it' a shame that there'e no orchestral use in the Page/Plant versions. Beth Hart also did a great version a couple years ago. Great video JCM!
I agree with you Miguel. String sections elevate the song's depth. Weird they didn't go Egyptian on WLL for Page/Plant you are absolutely right. Maybe Page thought it would mess with his Theremin and Les Paul explorations live? Thanks for watching!
The re-imagined riff later in their timeframe, I understood, is the classic Whole Lotta Love riff, mirrored....playing the riff (or something very close to it) in reverse of the original riff. I'm not a guitar player, so I wouldn't know, but in my research of the band, that's what I was told was Jimmy's intention. Ernie
Well, I learned some stuff. You gonna do a 'Dazed and Confused' evolution video? I did a 'Whole lot a Reggae Love, and a Stairway to Reggae Heaven covers that people liked. Did Jimmy ever play with just fingers, or was it always hybrid? There's an episode for you..
I wanna do Dazed for sure but because that is quite a LONG topic which i have personally performed on stage meaning the different versions, i will take MORE time to discuss it. Maybe after i do Zeppelin 1 the retrospective. Jimmy's hybrid picking, i know some of the techniques, definitely worth an episode!!!

I hated to hear it get truncated in 1975 but what you said made a lot of sense and I can see why they did it. Great video Jose!
WLL would have been the song they should have chosen to play completely 👍
I don't think this is the same version of WLL that Ike and Tina Turner did and I heard in the past. I couldn't find it looking for it but there were a number of uploads of this version which stated it was 1975 when they did this. It still sounds cool too haha!

Man the 1975 Acid Queen recording is TIGHT. I need to get a Cassette copy of the album. Tina Turner....i love her, what an artist she was!
You’ve out done yourself this time Jose. Loved the whole production. Whole lotta clover was definitely the best
Ernie
It's a sort of riff in reverse, but the added harmony really turns it into quite the experiment!!!
@@JCM-LedZeppelin-Stories Take your time, JCM. Separate episodes?
I think Zepp 1 needs at least 2. Did you watch my Making of the New Yardbirds one? I will pick up where that one ends.
@@JCM-LedZeppelin-Stories Oh, I see. I didn't understand at first.I don't remember The New Yardbirds epi. I'll see. Anyway I'll let you know. Great jam tonight. I want to use swear words about that. Well done, buddy.
Yes, the mash ups are very cool, lol
Thanks so much man!
🌠 JCM ...ALWAYS GOOD MAN ..! I'LL GIVE $ WHEN I CAN..U ROCK ..!
GREG! Thanks so much man! Hope you enjoyed this one, stay safe bro!
Brilliant as Usual. The Greatest live version is on “BlueBerry Hill Medley. That night in early September in L. A Zeppelin Evoked the Epitome of Pure ELECTRIC MAGICK! As a fellow guitarist your Mastery of the 6 string make the Documentaries Masterpieces ZoSo
You should release Whole Lotta Rigby
Let me see what is the best way to release it :) Thanks!!!
12:35 🤯🤯🤯!!!!! and yooooooo those mash-ups... I'd pay for the full files of them... just sayin'!
Armakk crazy Rush reference right? As i was playing the riff i was like wait a minute.....! Lifeson was definitely a Page Fan. As for the mash-ups let me see what is the best way to upload these :)
Whole lotta Zepology 👍
The best band from the 70s!!!
There’s a specific version they did live …possibly only twice … that I hope you mention 😊
Maybe i will but one thing's for sure, i had to listen to A LOT of WLL riffs hehe.
@@JCM-LedZeppelin-Stories I shouldn't be vague...I'm talking about the Atlantic 40th anniversary..and for some reason I think they may have done a similar version in one of the European shows in the 80's
Oh i think you mean the 1979 arrangement where they threw in some special riffs, i waill talk about it!
@@JCM-LedZeppelin-Stories I can imagine ... how many more times? :)
I really miss the version that included "Hello Mary Lou" in the middle section. They clearly had fun on it, especially Bonham. It was on Apple Music one day and then removed the next. I had assumed that there were copyright issues but never found an answer until I watched this video and you confirmed it. Thank you for the excellent quality. Keep up the great work!!!
The Tina Turner 1975 cover is the version sampled by Goldbug in the 90s
*Think you meant diminished scale but overall this is great, as usual!!
@@SteveBello oh no it is phrygian mode indeed. :) thanks for watching!
Any update on becoming Led Zeppelin.
I'm on the same boat as everybody just waiting but....i heard the name is back to Becoming Led Zeppelin.
@@JCM-LedZeppelin-Stories why what was it before?
I read they changed it to Introducing Led Zeppelin
JCM, you're very talented. By the way, love women singing the song, but feel a bit conflicted when it comes to inches of love.
Thanks for watching David. Hahaha well there's always the metric system i guess. My take is that Robert aimed at a Mathematical approach to humanity and it's emotional currency. Love definitely makes the world go round and child support in some cases hehe.
If this riff doesn't get your hips shaken... You are a piece of clay 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hahaha
