Hi. I was one of the capo for a very small Hong Kong football club. I can share what I think about Hong Kong ultras. I can say there is no ultra in Hong Kong Premier League. But there is a small ultra group for the national team. Because Hong Kong football culture is not very popular like Europe. In Hong Kong Premier League, football fans are not allow to use megaphone. And some of the stadiums are not allowed for drums (don't ask me why haha). So almost of the football fans have No Passion for their football club. They just sit down and watch the match. And a lot of local people think that's noisy. I had an experience. I was in the small stadium with my supporter group. We sang football chants. But still got complain from the local people. Moreover, all banners have to apply. That's so difficult to build up the culture... In the national team, allow to use megaphone and drums. There is a small ultra group jump and sing in football match. You can hear the football chants.
If everyone loved always the best team at the moment, then football would be boring. It's much more exciting to have good and bad times with your local club that you support.
