Man you saved me $ 660.00 in labor😊. You are the man. I ordered the multifunctional switch from ebay $ 30.00 took the new emergency switch out with screw driver flathead and a prier of needle nose pliers like you said then took the broken emergency switch out the 97 surburban truck with thin flat head screw driver and pulled with needle nose pliers popped out did not have to remove button cover needle nose pliers pull broken emergency assembly right through then I popped the new one in. BAM!!!! works like new took me 30 minutes. Man thankyou so much again you saved me $660.00 in labor and it only cost me $30.00 plus $7.00 shipping plus $3.00 tax total $40. Thankyou your the man.
Thank you so much!! I did this in at 10pm with a headlamp on on my 95. It had screws holding it together to prevent the hazards from randomly going off.
Let it be known, your video saved me from tearing apart my whole dash and steering Column to get to the whole multifunction switch. I had no idea this came out by itself thank you!!!!
Good god thank you. I was reassembling the plastic housing over the steering column after painstakingly replacing a key cylinder (with no key) and putting the damn thing back together, I broke the hazard switch and now my right blinker wont stop going off. You are a god send. Damn gm for producing cheap ass plastic material back in 97’
Thank you for your video!!!! managed to change mine out using your method saving me so much time and money, not to mention frustration. Thank you from Auckland, New Zealand
Fantastic! Thank you! Do you not only helped me know how to take out and replace the hazard switch, but told me something I did not know about the horn, because my horn doesn’t work either. Super and again thank you.
Thanks for posting video, mine was broken like that on my k1500 truck.went to pick a part to get one.saved me money and time havin to take the signal out along with everything else before it.
The code for the part is 924-608 I an in the process of changing mine and I've been have taillight and blinker problems until I changed it mine was all broke up in pieces when I got it out (replacing this can fix any taillight problems that you may have)
Glad I didn't have to do the whole multi-function, way too much work, I thought it might be separate but wasn't sure, or sure how to remove, definitely a helpful video. With a little finagling you can get these out with the cover on, there is some risk of buggering up the cover if you aren't careful, so you may or may not want to go that route depending on how important that is to you, also might break your replacement switch if not careful, so if removing a good replacement probably want to pull the cover first. For my broken one I left cover on, for the junkyard replacement I pulled cover first. I found a right angle pick worked best, right behind the back left corner on the back side, wedge it in there and twist and it pops right up. 1A Auto has a good video on the multifunction switch that covers removal of upper and lower covers: th-cam.com/video/Scoqc-h_N6Q/w-d-xo.html Cover removal at 4:40 mark.
@@95K2500 DOes anyone have part number for this item? I need one, mine will not stay down and operate emergency flasher lights properly, although my brakes and turn signals work.

How come when i press the brakes thats the only time my hazards would work?
Too many reasons,I'd start by checking grounds,A Multi-Meter would help too.
Where do I get a new one for my 1996 chevy 3500? 7/29/2017
Don't know,I got one from a Pick-A-Part as part of the multi-function assembly. You could try Rock Auto also.
Thanks
You're welcome, hope my video makes this task a little easier for you.
