I appreciate the vid. A jerk broke in my yukon and tried to steal the whole truck they tore the ignition cover and, broke the hazard switch and jammed a screw driver in the ignition switch trying to force it to crank. It didn't work and they left my truck a mess. I'm fixing everything on it now and this really helped save me a few bucks 👍
5 years later & still helping us poor folk out. Ima say, a big ole thank you. Showing the box w/part # & the tip about the electric grease was like gold. I watched the ads hoping you get a penny or two.
One of the best shade tree mechanic one handed videos I have seen, and I have been a mechanic for 30 years. I'd trust my car with this fellow. It aint easy ta put grease on anything with just one hand,,
Mine came loose and wiggled enough to prevent my 2 brake lights from working so I wedged a cardboard shim next to it to hole it to the left a little which now I see made a better contact with those contact points. A quick fix for now and no need for a new peddle switch thank God!
little tip, you dont nessecarily need to remove all the plastic from around the switch, if you are fine with it you can take a knife and ream out the hole for the button just a little bit and the switch will pull out without having to remove anything at all, just ream mainly in the back left corner of the hole for the switch and it will come right out.
@@Ytxspooky I'm gona try it it's better than 200 for whole switch but my luck it b 210 bucks anyway lol thanks lot I just b glad to get my break lights working right again it's been crazy
Hi I have a 95 Silverado and i accidentally broke it off as well i went to O reily and they said I had to buy the whole signal part can I order just the hazard light switch from Amazon???

Good to know. Thank you
Will iit pop out by pulling up without taking the cover off or is it locked in somehow that requires the cover removal?
Yes it will.
I'm thinking of ordering that off Amazon for mine. I wasn't sure so do you reccomend it for a 95 s 10 pickup?
I used it on my 2001 Sierra. Works fine in my truck. Don't know how its going to work for your truck.
Hey mine just broke did it work after replacing it ? Also where did you buy the part
What type fasteners are holding the cowling on ?
Tried torx....Phillips head.....Allen wrenches..nothing seems to fit
It's been a long time. Don't remember
What type of screw bit would i need because i got to replace mine and didn't have a screw bit for it
I can't remember. It's been too long
Great video that's still helping people. Thanks!
THANK YOU! ! You just made my life a LOT easier! Much appreciated.
Glad I can be of service.
Yo my man you think this will fit a 2001 chevy silverado 1500? Mine started going crazy and it wouldn't click down so I need a new one
Yes it will work with no problems.
@@TheCuban.45 thanks for the reply brother I appreciate it
I'ma assuming it would fit on a 2001 Chevy Tahoe to then right ?
@@stboxing559 Yes 100% should
How about a 2002 Chevy Astro ?
Easy fix.
Makes it seem easy.
Thanks man.
What are the type of screws on the bottom of the steering column??
Is been a long time. I can't remember
Good video. I will be needing to do this
Where to buy it?
Amazon
The Cuban .45 so does this fit a 99 to 2002 Silverado if so can u send me a link
Will the switch work on 99 gmc 1500 will the s10 switch work on mine
Leonard Crowe apparently to my dad he said it won’t but they do look exactly the same man. I’d say buy it, and give it a go it’s $11 for the s10.

That's what I did too. Use some pliers n a flat head screw driver.
Can I just break the plastic cover off? I don't have any cash to get the tool to take the screws out.
Shame to do that. But u need to do what u need to do.
Good job
Sweet thanks bro cool video👍
Good
Yello berry playlist
How do I look up the piece on amazon bro. Can't find it.
Dorman 924-608 Hazard Switch
Don't have to remove cover. Opening is big enough to pull it out.
Yes
What if u pull it out and break lights r still on
Check the brake pedal switch. Its probably stock.
