N52… boys and girls, you can take your turbo madness units.. N52 is the ANSWER. Simple. It’s the sweet spot in terms of power, reliability and oh yeah.. sound! I miss mine a lot.
My 130i with the N52b30 is my first car and 8 years later I still love it. Aside from the Valve gasket and electrical waterpump it had no problems and the power and dynamic is just perfect for public roads. Pulls great up to 180km/h after that it runs out of steam but the sound, pops and joy it produces is just great! Not the best on fuel, but could be worse for what it is
@Ayedidyae That's the first time I've heard something like that and I don't buy it. "Running out of steam" is kinda relative, as I'm used to much more acceleration from other vehicles. It pulls nice to 260km/h, just not as fast as on lower speeds
@Ayedidyae you've obviously never owned a N52? I've had my N52 engined 2006 325i for nearly 10 years now, still on original chain, (200,000kms), just regular servicing, super reliable, still drives like new. Pulls well and the straight 6 engine sounds lovely! May be someday you'll be able to afford to run one 😉

very cool episode and a goodbye to this awesome car. It brings back memories of my M54B30 e46 touring. I built it with twinscrew supercharger, limited slip, CSL wheels, coilovers, everything ... Used to have one of these, great car and so underrated. The M version to me is the last proper M car. naturally aspirated S54 with a hydraulic rack. Great car but for some reason never "made" it. We did 3.5k miles around Europe for our honeymoon in 2015. Drove faultlessly and loved some European B roads. Best memory ever!
You think an M car has to be naturally aspirated with hydraulic? Despite turbo and electric (steering) being a lot better to drive, AND a lot faster? I don’t get it..
@@AI-Records24 It was the last year of the recipe that made M cars great in my opinion. Electronic steering of the time was horrendous and felt disconnected to the road and turbo lag was still a thing. You can't compare to today's cars as they are near 20 years old now. I'm not saying the new ones are bad, it's just if you want to experience what the original M cars were about, a very "manual" environment, then they are great to do so. All "physical" elements, manual box, hydraulic steering, naturally aspirated. You had to drive it properly to get the best out of it. Modern cars are a bit soulless like that. I'm a Merc person but that BMW is gorgeous!
Another epic V2 lads keep these coming
11:21 That Fiesta behind you, was FLYING haha!
HAAAA I was thinking exactly the same thing. I think there should be cameo points for these vids.
I spotted that too! Imagine he was having his own race with the Z4. They lost him at 12:00 though!
I’ve got an auto version of this and it’s the most fun car to drive on twisty roads
Equal length 6 into 1 manifold and a higher rev limit would finish that off lovely
12:48 not the first time Taylor has said that 😂
Those wheels really finish that. It's got me thinking of replacing my 330ci club sport 🤔
2:41 unfortunately the n53 was the last NA straight six that bmw produced, not the n52. As an owner of an n53 I love it but would swap it for an n52 in a heartbeat 😅
Please go over everything that was done to get the monitor to 300hp?!! I have an n52 and would love a little more zoomzoom. Thanks and great videos
I would love to see more of these sort of videos.
I have the 5 series with the same engine, absolute beauty.
Like these quick reviews of projects, but always need to understand how much it all costs
That's going to be some machine when it's completed. Hopefully Bruno will be able to release it to showcase the finished car.
I was not expecting that ending, I'm happy to see it go to Bruno
If you are doing more reviews of the teams cars - Jack Joys E36. Back in the CT days it was the white elephant and I just don’t believe it exists.
Induction sound for days!
Them z4s are definitely one of the best looking cars. Been out for over 20 years and still looks so modern
I've got one and I love it! Question for other manual owners, does your gearbox grumble a little when warm and in neutral? I think my input shaft bearing might be slowly on its way out...
Your a legend Taylor
I absolutely love this car, even more than the Z4M coupe.
