Agni and Rudra were very friendly considering dante as a guest at first trying to entertain him and only fought him out of obligation to guard the door
They were cool because they sought honor and a worthy foe... To be fair they were like that because Sparda is like that... Hence while the seal being undone is the theme for this specific game... which also in all honesty is my favorite one of them all... this and 2...
Is anyone else aware that during the fight with Arkham, if Dante gets eaten you get exclusive control of Vergil. One of the best parts of the game IMHO.

DMC 3 has the best fights in the entire history of the game the only thing DMC 3 needed was better graphics and more enemies to fight in each stage because 5-6 are not enough there should be at least 15-25

Des Miles u know what i messed in DmC game from DMC3 & 4...the Devil Arms, i liked those weapons far better then those demon & angel weapons. alot more creative then 2-sets of heavy & light weapons.
Second phase is a completely broken fight. Even the best players at the game second that. Dont bother using swords. Just attack him spamming ebony and ivory. When you see him turning purple/yellow, he will shot those eels, jump/avoid them with double jump, then once they are gone repeat ebony and ivory.
Have you seen the SS videos on this mission? even the best players play the second phase by just shotting. Its not like you just shoot and he will go down. You still have to avoid his flying eel attacks and usually takes a long time.
***** you can play 2 player mode the entire game once you get the dopleganger ability and use the infinite DT dante. have the second controller press start i think or select button so they can control his shadow and you play as dante.
the final fight end cutscene is so much intense when you know that Virgil's quest for power is because he was powerless to save his mother. And when they clash in slow motion you can basically feel what they were feeling. Fucking awesome game

I know we are all sick about remakes/Remasters/hd editions and stuff....But I'd pay anything for a HD DMC3 Remake!, easy the best hack n slash game for me, and one of my all time favorite games.
DMC3 (PS2 version) on Dante must die is way harder than Souls games and i platinumed them all including Bloodborne, Nioh and the original Demon Souls so i know what i am talking about. The only game comparable to this game in difficulty is Ninja Gaiden Sigma 1 and 2 on Master Ninja difficulty.
No way, devs dont bother with 60 on consoles unless its uncapped. It will either screen tear or just not run. And I cant see 3 being very modern, needs a better remake for me.
This game is _very_ well made. I haven't played it in forever, but I remember the feeling of an exceptionally well crafted title that it exuded. Plus the whole theme of climbing up an inverted tower is interesting.
The fact that this DMC doesn't recicle boss fights through go out the game make this the best one. Even he fights against Vergil are different from one another.

GimmeACookie It's also known as guard flying. You mix a guard with a jump off the enemy and can then perform more style actions in the air. It can let you stay airborne for an entire boss fight, but it's really hard. Donguri has a good tutorial video that also explains it better than I can, just look up "devil may cry 4 guard flying tutorial" and click on the one he uploaded.

To me, 3 is still the absolute best in the series. Best boss fights, best storyline, best characters. I don't know what it was, I just didn't enjoy 4 nearly as much... though, the 1st game is a close runner up in my books.
I thought The Suffering looked AMAZING as a kid when it first came out, but when I watch videos of it now, I realize how shit it looks. Especially after playing a game like Uncharted 4, that makes all games look worse. But 10 years from now, newer games will even bring even Uncharted 4's graphics to shit.
In terms of fidelity it's obviously quite dated now, but you can't deny, even games as far back as this still look great aesthetically, because they were made by talented artists who knew how to get the most out of the restrictive tech.

I had the worst time fighting the leviathan. I spent a lot of time in bloody palace grinding red orbs to get 6 vital star L. I beat Leviathan on my second try after getting the stars without using them and Nevan was hard for me always getting me with that kiss attack and I died using all my stars.
I didn’t have a problem with leviathan 1st play through I then played the game like 2 years later with turbo on and that’s when leviathan became a pain.Hate the fact it still fires even though you take out one of its organs
DMC 3 had some amazing boss fights, but also a few dud ones, I never found Gigapede, the Heart and Arkham that great a fight, might also include Doppleganger as it was fairly straightforward, but the idea of fighting your shadow was pretty interesting.

Like at 1:13:22 or 1:13:35 Vergil jumps at the same time as you (since you pressed the X button), and uses the Starfall attack with Beowulf, yet Dante should have done Helm Breaker since you pressed the attack button while the air ??
MProductionMachinima I forgot which controls were to control Virgil, but I think it was O?. What I did was Jump (Virgil will jump) Lock on Boss (for Virgil to target the Boss) and press O for Virgil to use his Starfall.

Do that many people even replay as Virgil cuz when I did it was almost exactly the same except you had Yamato and force edge which change up the gameplay a little bit but, I still liked it (it made me like playing as Virgil even more than Dante)
I have no clue How I finished the game when I was 10 or 9 years old This shit looks mad crazy but it's one of those games I will never forget because of how awesome it was with all the weapons.

Just asking because I've not been playing DMC3 for a long time, but can you cancel enemy attacks consistently by throwing in your own's? Is directional input important when parrying like this? I see that Dante's stunned for a moment after a parry like this, but can it be cancelled by a dodge?

I like how Dante talks tough and is seemingly unstoppable in the cutscenes. But in game the enemies are just fucking hard and Dante dies easily.

meh, depends how you want to call it. For me its just a normal unit (mini Boss) since you fight more of them later on instead of a real Boss

I had the worst time fighting the leviathan. I spent a lot of time in bloody palace grinding red orbs to get 6 vital star L. I beat Leviathan on my second try after getting the stars without using them and Nevan was hard for me always getting me with that kiss attack and I died using all my stars.
I didn't know there's people who use the items in a normal playtrough
I didn’t have a problem with leviathan 1st play through
I then played the game like 2 years later with turbo on and that’s when leviathan became a pain.Hate the fact it still fires even though you take out one of its organs
@Gustavo bloody palace in unlocked after beating the game once so he probobaly meant dmd run
I know its late but you can cancel nevans kiss attack by activating DT

This mode brings out true patience in a player. Best Devil May Cry game ever.
DMC 3 had some amazing boss fights, but also a few dud ones, I never found Gigapede, the Heart and Arkham that great a fight, might also include Doppleganger as it was fairly straightforward, but the idea of fighting your shadow was pretty interesting.
Nice evasion but you have poor Offense. You need to work on those JCing and switch canceling combos and utilice DT distortion and the healing factor

MatthieuAmherst actually, you should check paintings of Dante and Virgil from Divine comedy. Somehow they are always depicted with blue and red tunics.

Like at 1:13:22 or 1:13:35 Vergil jumps at the same time as you (since you pressed the X button), and uses the Starfall attack with Beowulf, yet Dante should have done Helm Breaker since you pressed the attack button while the air ??
MProductionMachinima I forgot which controls were to control Virgil, but I think it was O?. What I did was Jump (Virgil will jump) Lock on Boss (for Virgil to target the Boss) and press O for Virgil to use his Starfall.

@@ZoniferConundrum I don't exactly remember but my guess it's because there are seven of them and because of the Arkham cutscene where he's opening the portal to the demon world. And also because they are from hell like you say.
Do that many people even replay as Virgil cuz when I did it was almost exactly the same except you had Yamato and force edge which change up the gameplay a little bit but, I still liked it (it made me like playing as Virgil even more than Dante)

I have no clue How I finished the game when I was 10 or 9 years old This shit looks mad crazy but it's one of those games I will never forget because of how awesome it was with all the weapons.
I can only imagine how difficult the bosses would have been if they could DT on DMD.

Just asking because I've not been playing DMC3 for a long time, but can you cancel enemy attacks consistently by throwing in your own's? Is directional input important when parrying like this? I see that Dante's stunned for a moment after a parry like this, but can it be cancelled by a dodge?
