When I received a panicked phone call from The Narrowboat Experience, who were stuck half way up the Grand Union canal and just too tired to carry on, of course I had to help.
So I jumped into my car, shot off to Whilton Marina and ran down the towpath to find Anna and Kath, and give them the benefit of my extensive canal and locking experience and wisdom.

@@wrong-unkim9080 I was about to say "Hold the phone!" about not getting the humor as an American, but I saw the exit-out statement. I was laughing the whole way. As far as Americans go, New Englanders (upper right part of country) are extremely familiar with the 11 levels of sarcasm. It's the primary means of taking the Mickey out of someone... generally reserved for those whom we're endeared to (ironically). :)

I’m 11 and I did at least 15 locks by myself and it was soooooo tiring I went with my dad and stepmum and they both work at ABNB.
I enjoy your relationship with Cath and Anne. You're like the brother they never wished they had, lol. It's good to see how many vloggers have IRL friends to lend a hand and/or company when needed. Very nice video. :)
The David, Cath, and Anne videoblogs are some of the best. David seems to get-on with many other boaters and never breaks a sweat. I admire his determination and resolve (and vocabulary).

My sister told me she'd like to go to the UK and rent a narrow boat; it would be so relaxing. I watched several of your videos and see it is a fair amount of work and a large amount of skill. The work I can handle, the skill is another issue. All I know about boats is they're suppose to float. So if I ever get to your country I'll rent a bike, ride along a tow path, watch the boats go by, and spend a lot of time in a pub. It would be so relaxing.
It's very relaxing and soothing to watch and experience vicariously, but I can see it would be a lot of work in practice. Thank you for the videos, I do enjoy them, both yours and the girls'.

I do enjoy your videos of this life. So slow and calm to me. I understand you have your trials and scares along the way but I do feel so relaxed watching these. It is very different from when I sailed the Great Lakes here in the States as well as crewing aboard a large sloop in the Atlantic. Many great memories but I'll let your imagination fill in on the really terrifying times there were.
You are truly a noble being. I have rarely seen such selflessness. The sacrifices you made to help out two helpless lady boaters. And you never got a g & t out of it. Still, your reward shall be in Heaven.

from far away, and with no narrow boat experience, the filming from the tow path or the side, gives the viewer a better idea, as to what or how things work / are dealt with. The commentary was good, the topic and interaction were entertaining and informative. The food looked good, and thank you to all of you who worked and participated.

Narrowboaters tend to use land terminology such as kitchen and toilet, not galley and head so the use of marine language is much less pronounced than it would be in other boating environs.
It’s a rope on a boat, too, until it has a function. Or so I’ve been advised.
Aren’t locks wonderful? Have you ever been to the Falkirk Wheel? Now that’s a clever piece of engineering!
