After several days at Yardley Gobion, during which time I had the boatyard opposite look at - and hopefully fix - the diesel leak, I carried on with my return journey up the Grand Union canal, going back through Gayton, up the Stoke Bruerne locks and up through Blisworth tunnel (no signs of any ghosts this time round).

Hello from Florida! I'm a sailor, and normally watch sailing vlogs obviously, but TH-cam did a funny thing and put one of your videos in my playlist. I think I've now watched well over 80 of your videos. I find them incredibly relaxing and fascinating to watch at the end of the day. Possibly a trip over to the UK to try my hand at a narrowboat is in order. Thanks for making these videos!

You are a very good narrow-boat man and one of the best for narrating and navigating the Canels in the UK. With many people doing similar canels as yourself, you are the only one that does updates without being too long between your last vlog. Many of your friends try to copy you BUT can not match to become equal or better than what you have become. I am still waiting for your book to come out though. Keep up the very good work that you are doing, though it is expensive to keep doing these nice videos, I will take part in your Patreon in a couple of weeks to some how keep you going towards your goal.

The Boat Inn at Stoke Bruerne is my favorite pub for anywhere. The pub was actually there before the canal. My mum is always worried I might accidently let go of her wheel chair and she will roll into the canal.

The Cut looks like it would be fun to canoe on. Portages around the locks would be short an sweet. Narrowboats seem like they're well behaved compared to speedboats on lakes.

Great vlog Dave, still like the sounds when you fast foreward, has me in stitches. We have loads of Canada geese landing and feeding at Saddington reservoir, which helps to feed the GU near Foxton locks, with water that is not geese. You still are getting great video with that camera of yours. All the best.

Hi David nice to see your latest vlog, I assume the nut has held out and no more leaks from diesel pipe. Nice and peaceful trip, well speeded up with locks but too fast to hear what the other person on his boat said to you!! Finally where are aiming to lay up over the winter, somewhere nice I hope. Regards Martin from Kent.

Ah Dave! Where you moored up is where I picked up my boat when i bought it! What a spot to choose haha. Lovely pub up the road too, does really good Asian food. Shop also next to pub, both within easy walking distance. The boat yard is really friendly and happy to converse about any issues. I also met the guy with the little tug too in one of my previous vids at the Grove Inn moorings in MK, nice guy. Has a little 6hp Petter engine in it. Great little boat I totally agree, I was taken with it. Cheers man.

Well, I've done it. I am finally caught up to the latest vlog. I must admit that in recent weeks I have been rationing myself, hesitant to watch the most recent one, because it was nice to know that there was always going to be a Cruising the Cut vlog waiting for me when I really needed it. In my very busy, very hectic, and often very stressful city life, these brief interludes do wonders for my state of my mind.
I don't know if I could ever fully adopt the narrowboat lifestyle, but I do want to at least take a narrowboat holiday at some point. My only hope is that I will be less of a nuisance than the average hire boater, based on everything I've learned here. Thank you again for your wonderful vlogs; I will now join the legions of fans eagerly awaiting the next one. (And in the meantime I think I will hop over to Vandemonium for a change of pace!)

Thanks for the ride, David. On older Listers the Injection piping was inside the push rod housing. When it leaked, the crank case would start to fill with fuel. If the engine started making oil, that was the problem. The exterior injection systems was one of their better design changes.

A stunning theatrical ext from the tunnel, out of the doom and into full day light forest.
