    Mike, Mike, Mike guess what day it is? Not hump day. I have that same slow smoker you probably will find it may not smoke that many hours. The chips tend to not drop down so you will probably need to give it a shake or good tap to get it smoking again. I used a 3” dryer vent about 3’ long to slow the smoke to slightly mellow before entering the food chamber. Hope you use it soon so you can knock out the knocks for a informative video coming up.

      Lol on hump day 👍🏻😅! Wish it was Friday but it’s Monday, dang! I did a Brisket with it over the weekend and saw a few of the kinks that I will talk about in future videos. Overall though it’s better than loading chips every 30 to 45 minutes. Thanks for the feedback and input my friend 👍🏻

    Have this with the slow smoker. Works incredibly well, highly recommend it.

    Adding an interval timer, 10 min on 10 min off or so works great at keeping it from overheating and setting the wood chips on fire.

      Good advice! Also try letting it run for 20-30 minutes and then shut it off…it will continue to smoke for a long time. If not already, please subscribe to my channel and like the video…Happy Smokin 👍🏻

    I just watched a video where a gentleman tried using pellets in the cold smoker rather than wood and it preformed as good or perhaps a little better. Still had to give it a poke and shake
    every 45 minutes or so.

      Hey John, thanks for watching! Here’s the link to my video discussing the same thing. Just be careful using pellets because they can get very hot and are a possible fire hazard 👍🏻

    Well lookie there…how about that…brilliant…that’s one thing I haven’t particularly liked is the incredibly small chip holder…they couldn’t make that thing bigger?? I will definitely be getting one of these…thank you so much for showing us this!

      You’re welcome Denise! I have only used mine once so far and it didn’t quite get the 6 hours smoke time as promised but I did get a solid 3 hours before I had to agitate the hopper a bit to get the chips to move down. Other than that it worked like a charm. I have a link in the video’s description where you can purchase one off of Amazon. Thanks for watching & Happy Smokin 👍🏻

    Do you have to manually turn off the slow smoker when it's finished smoking? Assume this only uses wood chips and not pellets?

    • @BakersBBQ
      @BakersBBQ  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for watching Leigh! Yes you do have to manually turn off the slow smoker. Happy Smokin!

    If you’ve already used the main smoker do you need to season the cold smoker attachment??

    • @BakersBBQ
      @BakersBBQ  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Tina, thanks for watching and subscribing! Yes you still need to season it to rid all of the oils etc from the manufacturing process. Happy Smokin 👍🏻

    I used mine for 34 hours over three days and got a whole lot of creasoak built up?

    • @BakersBBQ
      @BakersBBQ  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That’s typical with any wood burning device. Thanks for watching!

  • @Dominatingfox
    @Dominatingfox 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    So to “season” this device, just turn it on for 1 hour? No connected to Masterbuilt and no wood chips?

    • @BakersBBQ

      Correct…thanks for watching 👍🏻

    I bought this attachment and it still gets too hot inside the smoker. Cold smoking is supposedly done below 80 degrees. It's still reaching 130 quickly with the attachment on the side.

    • @BakersBBQ
      @BakersBBQ  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@stevindir-theisle7848 thanks for watching and for your feedback! I haven’t used it for cold smoking only for long regular smokes; butts, brisket etc., which it works great for but the actual smoke time is more like 2-hrs versus 5-6 that Masterbuilt states.

    Wonder if you can use Pellets in it

    • @BakersBBQ
      @BakersBBQ  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thanks for watching! I have a video where I did use pellets but later learned that they get way too hot and could damage the unit or cause a fire. I recommend staying with wood chips plus they give much better flavor.

      They tend to swell and get stuck. Have a poker handy to knock them loose every once in a while.

    In hindsight, are you glad you purchased the slow smoker attachment?

    • @BakersBBQ
      @BakersBBQ  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thanks for watching! Yes I am but it doesn’t get as long of a smoke time as they advertise. They advertise 5 or 6 hours but in reality it’s more like 2-3 hours but that is usually all you need anyway. If not already, please subscribe to my channel and like the video. Happy Smokin 👍🏻!

      Hey there! Whats the temperature it reaches using the cold smoker?

    • @BakersBBQ
      @BakersBBQ  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for watching Aaron! The smoker doesn’t heat up while cold smoking using the cold smoker attachment. It simply supplies smoke into the smoker smoking chamber.

    Mine is junk, won't feed wood chips, have to keep checking it. More trouble than it is worth

    • @BakersBBQ
      @BakersBBQ  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I am sorry to hear that John. Mine isn’t perfect but I do get a good solid 3-4 hours of smoke without much effort on my part. Masterbuilt claims 5 hours of smoke but mine has never met that threshold.

    Hey Mike. Can you tell me the total amp draw if you're using the main smoker and the slow smoker together with both heating elements in usage? Thanks

    • @BakersBBQ
      @BakersBBQ  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Mike & thanks for watching! I don’t know that information and will need to refer you to Masterbuilt to get an answer. I will say that the smoker and the slow smoker attachment each have a 110 plug. Happy Smokin Brother 👍🏻

    • @Mike-ig2zq
      @Mike-ig2zq ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BakersBBQ Thanks, did some more digging and found 6.7 amps for main smoker element and 1.25 amps for slow smoker attachment. So total around 8 amps. Should be good to plug into same outlet. Thanks again for your quick response.
